BE AN AGENT OF PEACE.

TEXT: 1 KINGS 22:41-46

1 Kings 22:41
Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king of Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

1 Kings 22:42
Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mother’s name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

1 Kings 22:43
In everything he followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. The high places, however, were not removed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.

1 Kings 22:44
Jehoshaphat was also at peace with the king of Israel.

1 Kings 22:45
As for the other events of Jehoshaphat’s reign, the things he achieved and his military exploits, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?

1 Kings 22:46
He rid the land of the rest of the male shrine prostitutes who remained there even after the reign of his father Asa.

REFLECTION:

General Yakubu Gowon became a military Head of state in Nigeria at the age of 31, when Nigeria was already fragmented as a result of coup d'etat. A civil war broke out during his rule that lasted for thirty months but the Nigerian government successfully prevented Biafra secession. Gowon's major contribution was his effort in reconciling he various fragmented ethnic groups. In a way, Gowon was a peacemaker.

Today's passage presented to us the king of Judah, Jehoshaphat, who also ruled at the young age of 35. He walked in the way of his father, Asa and did what was right in God's sight, particularly in maintaining a peaceful relationship with the king of lsrael.

In like manner, believers are to be a good examples for others to follow by living a peaceful lifestyle as kings and priests of God, here on earth. We are expected not only to live in peace with everyone, but also to ensure that peace reigns in our environment. The world is filled with strife, envy, bitterness, anger and hatred. As believers, we should shine the light of love, peace and harmony so that this world would be a better place to live in. May God help us all.

PRAYER GUIDE:

1. Let us pray for a peaceful coexistence in our midst and nation.

2. Let's pray to always work for a peaceful coexistence in organ, churches and nation at large.

3. Ask God for wisdom to contribute to the peace of the church and nation at large.

4. Pray that God should make us instrument of peace today.

5. Pray for all Men to be an agent of peace in wherever we find ourselves.

6. Pray for all the missionary on the fields for God's protection and mercy.

7. Pray for Souls to be won into the kingdom of God.

8. Pray for Men's finances that God should bless our our work, businesses and engagement in every way.

9. Pray for the leadership of our churches and nations at large for wisdom of administration.

10. Ask God for divine protection over our families in this trying period in our nation!

"Those who love your law have great peace and do not stumble." Psalms 119:165 (NLT)

Reflection

At the very birth of Jesus Christ, the message the angel delivered was a message of peace as recorded in Luke 2:14 that "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests." The peace God gives to His children is a kind of peace that surpasses all understanding. You can see in Psalm and in Luke that this peace is not given to everyone but those God has favoured, those who keeps the laws of God. As we enter the weekend of Easter, may the death and the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ brings about greater peace to you and your family!

Prayer Guide:

2. Thank the Lord for your children, for His divine peace all around them.

3. Pray and tell the Lord that you know we live in a chaotic world and all we need to have some comfort is the peace that comes from you. Ask Him to give that peace to us more in abundance.

4. Pray that the Lord should release His peace upon us and our families and help us to always rejoice in Him.

5. Let's remember our project at Agbowa Church Auditorium, the completion is very key for us before the next raining season, let ask God to do wonders that Him alone can do.

6. Let's ask God to bless all men to fulfill their pledges and commitment to the Lord.

7. Let pray that the Lord will visit our sources of income and bless the work of our hands in Jesus Mighty Name Amen.

8. Let's pray for those who have a challenges or the other and may not be bold to voice it out, that God that knows and see everything about us we come to their aids in Jesus Mighty Name Amen.

BIBLE READING: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (KJV)

24. Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.)

25. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.)

26. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air;)

27. But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection; lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

MESSAGE

When a person becomes born again, the things they enjoy doing would change significantly. From the moment I became born again, I have loved winning souls for Christ. I want to tell everybody that Jesus has saved my soul. I’m on my way to heaven and my name is now written in glory.

I still remember the Monday after I gave my life to Jesus Christ. As soon as I got to work, everybody knew something had happened because I was bubbling with excitement. At that time, I was working towards my Ph.D. My supervisor looked at me and said, “Enoch, what happened to you? Did you attend a party during the weekend?” I said, “No Sir, but I’ve got an invitation to another party”. He asked “Which one is that?” and I replied, “A heavenly party. Jesus Christ is going to marry and I am the bride”. That was the very first Monday after I gave my life to Jesus.

Prayer Guide for 10/03/2021

"I love the Lord because he hears my requests for mercy. The Lord is merciful and righteous; our God is compassionate." ~ Psalms 116:1,5 (CEB)

*Reflection*

Our greatest need for the moment is the mercies of God. We live in a perverse world full of evil and many times we find ourselves falling and rising. But if we rise even though from what we consider the least sin and we didn't ask for God's mercy, the sin is still counted again you. God's mercy is what we need every single day and the scriptures assures us here that God is compassionate to forgive us of all our sins. Cry out to God today and He will forgive you all your sins.

* Today my prayers is that the Lord will favour you and establish you with wealth, spiritual gifts and Abraham's Blessing.

* I pray that every forces of darkness fighting you shall bow.

* I pray that the Anointing for ease shall come upon you and it would cause you to excel in Jesus name.

I pray that no power of darkness can terminate or cut your life short in Jesus mighty name.

*Prayer Guide:

Dear Lord, we thank you, for you are a merciful and compassionate God.

* Lord we cry out to you this evening in anyway Lord and in all ways we have sin against you, in our thoughts, words, actions or inactions and in our silence, we plead for your mercies.

* Lord have mercy on us and forgive us from all our unrighteousness and clean us by your precious blood Lord. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

* Remember all our projects commit them into God's hand.

Pray for all the mission field and missionaries.

Give Thanks to the Lord!

"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good! His loving-kindness lasts forever! He sent His Word and healed them. And He saved them from the grave." ~ Psalms 107:1;20 (NLV)

Reflection

In a moment like this, we ought to intenstify our thanks and praises to God, the scriptures says God inhabits the praise of His children. We need not to be traumatized by the happenings in our world today especially the ravaging of COVID-19 that has caused panic to many. Today's text says God sent His Word and healed them. We need to specifically pray for God to send His Word to heal our world from this pandemic and other diseases. Our God is the great physician.

* Lord, we can not exhaust pouring out our hearts of gratitude to you for all you have done for us is uncountable. Be forever praised and exalted Lord.

* Lord, I specifically want to pray this morning for all who are sick, those traumatized by the prevailing pandemic and all category of people looking up to you for healing in their hearts, bodies and souls.

* Lord may you send your word and heal their diseases in Jesus name.

* Lord, let them received your healing from above from the crown of their heads to the toe of their feet. Thank you Lord because testimonies shall abound. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

* Let thank God for a brand new month and ask for His mercies over our lives as we journey on in this new month.

* Let's commit the men's work and businesses into the hands of God for fruitfulness.

* Remember the project at hand and hr stage at which the project is now, ask the Lord for provision for all men.

* Let's commit all missionary on the field into hands of the Lord, ask that the work of God shall prosper in there hands.

* Bring your prayers to an end by thanking God for answering all our request.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20)
