Church of God of Prophecy Global Communications celebrates another milestone in sharing the wonderful works of God with all nations!

Spoken across Botswana and parts of South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, Setswana is a reflection of culture, identity, community, and heritage for millions. Today, we are pleased to announce the release of "We Are the Church of God of Prophecy" in Setswana, our 26th language.

When men and women can read, learn, and grow in a language familiar to their heart and home, barriers begin to fall and connection becomes stronger. This translation represents another step forward in our ongoing commitment to make discipleship and identity resources accessible to people of every nation and language.

To God be the glory as His message continues reaching the nations—one language at a time.

CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF BISHOP CYRIL SIMON OPONDO

23/04/2026

It’s Vision Week at the Church of God of Prophecy International Offices, and just two days into the week, much has already been accomplished. Leaders from across our global movement have gathered for a time of prayer, worship, fellowship, and strategic planning as we seek the direction of the Holy Spirit for the days ahead.

Already this week, our general presbyters have met with key ministry leaders and teams, including the Division of Global Communications to celebrate the achievements of its first eighteen months, the Board of Directors during its quarterly meeting, and leadership from Stewardship Ministries and Global Missions for important discussions and updates. They concluded day two of meetings reviewing plans for the upcoming International Assembly and related activities.

Still to come this week are meetings with our assembly committees, the Leadership Development and Discipleship Ministries team, and additional ministry leaders.

Would you join us in prayer? Ask the Lord to continue pouring out wisdom, unity, fresh vision, and spiritual strength in every room. Pray that every decision would honor Christ and help advance our mission of reconciling the world to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRY LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

April 9th - 11th, 2026, our mission in Kishasha, Democratic Republic of Congo hosted the first-ever leadership conference in Central Africa, organized by the International Children’s Ministry. The historic event was held under the leadership of Reverend Joy Rivas and brought together church leaders, children’s ministers, and delegates from various French-speaking nations across Africa.

Among the key leaders present at the conference were the General Presbyter for Africa, Bishop James Kolawole; the International Children’s Ministry Director, Reverend Joy Rivas; Dr. Jonathan Olavarria and his son, Adrian Olavarria (AJ); Pastor Peter Ehigiator; Pastor Setin Aubed; Bishop Jean Calvin Nguene III; and several other church leaders and ministers.

The conference attracted delegates from Congo Brazzaville, including their National Bishop, Bishop Mukendi Bitchy, who attended alongside his wife. Participants also came from neighboring French-speaking countries, making the gathering a truly regional event.

The host of the conference was Bishop Francois Mbengayi, the National Bishop of DR Congo. He played a significant role in the planning and coordination of the conference. Bishop Mbengayi facilitated travel arrangements for delegates arriving from the United States, coordinated airport pickups, arranged transportation between hotels and the conference venue, and ensured that all participants were well taken care of throughout their stay in Kinshasa.

Another notable contributor was Pastor Denis Mube, the Regional Coordinator for the church in Kinshasa. Pastor Mube generously used his personal vehicle to transport guests between the hotel and conference venue, ensuring smooth logistics during the conference.

The conference officially opened with welcome remarks and an address delivered by Bishop Enis James Kolawole, the General Presbyter for Africa. His message set the tone for the conference, emphasizing the importance of children’s ministry and leadership development across the continent.

Speakers at the conference included Reverend Joy Rivas, Dr. Jonathan Olavarria, Adrian Olavarria (AJ), Pastor Setin Aubed, and Pastor Peter Ehigiator. From Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11, several impactful topics were presented, including:

The sessions were interactive, practical, and spiritually enriching. Over 200 delegates actively participated throughout the conference and were awarded certificates in recognition of their attendance and engagement.

Sunday, April 12 marked the final day of the program, which focused on family discipleship under the theme "Raising Disciples at Home.” Following the Sunday morning message delivered by the International Children’s Ministry Director, Dr. Jonathan Olavarria and Pastor Setin Aubed conducted special teaching sessions on the following topics:
1. Sustainable Rhythms of Family Discipleship
2. Helping Children Develop Deep Roots
3. Ensuring Children are Spiritually, Emotionally, and Socially Healthy
4. Understanding the Biblical Role of a Grandparent

These sessions emphasized the importance of strengthening families and equipping parents and guardians to disciple children effectively at home.

The program concluded with closing remarks from the host, Bishop Francois Mbengayi. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the General Presbyter for Africa, the International Children’s Ministry Director, guest speakers, and all delegates for their participation. He encouraged attendees to return to their respective churches and implement the lessons learned during the conference.

Brother Francis Kalenga, the National Children’s Ministry Director for DR Congo, also expressed his appreciation for hosting the conference in his nation and acknowledged the impact it would have on children’s ministry across the region.

The conference ended on a celebratory note with the presentation of gifts to the guest speakers, the General Presbyter for Africa, and Bishop Mukendi Bitchy, the National Bishop of Congo Brazzaville.

This historic conference marked a significant milestone for the International Children’s Ministry in Africa and laid a strong foundation for future leadership development, collaboration, and growth in children’s ministry across the region.

Church of God of Prophecy Global Communications welcomes the Luo language as part of the family of languages now resourced by our World Language Department. Our first resource, "We are the Church of God of Prophecy" is now available for download and distribution to our national leaders.

Luo (often referred to as Dholuo) is a widely spoken language in East Africa, primarily in Kenya, as well as parts of Uganda and Tanzania. It is the language of the Luo people, a vibrant community known for its rich traditions, strong sense of identity, and deep communal values. With millions of speakers, Luo plays a vital role in everyday life, storytelling, worship, and discipleship across the region.

This translation provides a meaningful connection for us, allowing individuals and congregations to engage with our history, core beliefs, and mission in the language that speaks most personally to them, for the first time.

From our commitment to reconciling the world to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit to the shared covenant that binds us together, this resource is designed to equip, disciple, and unify our growing body across nations and cultures.

We celebrate this milestone and the continued progress toward making this foundational resource available in all 139 languages spoken throughout our global church family. We have now completed this work in 22 languages!

Let us continue declaring the wonderful works of God—together, in every language.
