📖TO THE BIBLE: 2 Corinthians 9:8
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”

▶️LET’S TALK

The scripture above is the Lord’s desire for you. Whatever the need, irrespective of the circumstances, He wants you to be self-sufficient, so much so that you require no aid or support. But you see, He wants you to get big enough for others. The reason for being self-sufficient in all things is for you to do good things for others every time. That immediately brings something to mind: you really don’t live for yourself, but for other people. Galatians 6:10 says, “So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith” (NASB).

Abraham, David, and all the great men and women in the Bible didn’t live for themselves. You may have told yourself, “I don’t have money with which to help others,” but that’s why God makes all grace abound towards you. If you’re a student, for example, how many of your classmates
do you help with what you know, or do you hide your books and play dumb when they come around you? You must be able to share what you have. You have a much bigger, and wider family than your biological household; you belong in the household of faith.

So, don’t say, “I only want enough for me and my immediate family”; that’s not good enough. Make up your mind to be a blessing to others. If you bless people, you’ll always be lifted. This is because your uplifting begins with your uplifting others. You’re a greater success when you help
others succeed. God will make happen for you what you make happen for others. So keep giving, and keep helping those around you to stand strong.

The book of Genesis tells the touching story of Abraham and his nephew, Lot. When God called Abraham to leave his homeland for a foreign country, Lot journeyed with him (Genesis 12:4). As God blessed Abraham in his pilgrimage, Lot was also blessed. They were both so blessed that the land where they sojourned at some point could no longer contain their herds.

Fighting often broke out between Abraham's herdsman and Lot's until Abraham said, "..Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou will take the left hand, then I will go to the right l; or if thou depart to the right hand, then i will go to the left" (Genesis 13:8-9)

This was where Lot's problem began. He looked at the lush green plains of Jordan on one side and pitched his tent near S***m, a land of wickedness, not knowing that God's judgement was imminent upon S***m.

When God rained fire on S***m as retribution for the iniquity of it's people, Lot's life was spared as a result of Abraham's intercession. But he (Lot) lost everything he owned in the crisis and ended up in a cave. This happened to Lot simply because he missed God.

So in your life, the best placed to be , always , is at the centre of God's will. Never be carried away by the allures of this world. The choices you make shouldn't be based on the cravings of the flesh. But according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. For example, don't relocate to a particular city or country simply because of it's economic pros
