WINNING STRATEGY

*JUDGES 6:1-24*
*EPHESIANS 6:10-18*

Alleluia

The first lesson presents a contrast whereby those that are deemed to be beloved of God are under the yoke of tyranny for a number of years. Even when they got a divine reply for help, Gideon will ask, “if the Lord is with us, why have all these things befallen us?”

The text was clear in saying the people did evil and God delivered them into the hands of the Midianites. The enemy has no influence upon them if not because God allowed it. It is like a case of an errant child being taken to a correction centre, not because we purposely want the child to suffer but to develop the right attitude to life and become a great person in future.

A number of Christians today are suffering under different forms of spiritual oppression and cannot be delivered until they understand the root cause and the right strategy to overcome.

The church is also suffering, because a lot of its members (including leaders), lack the understanding of this basic issue. Why are there not more conversions in the Church? Why is there so little difference between the Church and the world? Why is so much of our Sunday-school teaching ineffective? The Midianite is in our midst and we just seem to accept it as a norm. The urgent, primal need of the present day is for the Church to realize her true condition, and cry mightily unto God for help.

The call for help is not about shouting on God to request for the death of our enemies or oppressors but embracing God’s will. The battle is not against flesh and blood but principalities and powers permitted by God. The solution is not in the number of enemies that fall down and die; the problem will persist if powers behind it are still given room for manipulation.

*Deut 30:9 - 'And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers':*
No matter the economy of the world, you will never be negatively affected.
Your barn will be enlarged both in dry and raining season.
Where you plant a few, you will harvest plenty and where you plant plenty, you will harvest in countless, manifold ways.
Everyone will rejoice and be glad with you, even your enemies will marvel and praise God on your behalf because the Lord will give you a new name in Jesus name. Amen.
