Do you know that Good follows people who does good,no matter how long it takes? As I sat down to.lunch this afternoon, an incident flashed through my mind and I was just smiling and Thanking God. If you are the type who does good, continue to do it. You will reap it someday somehow. During Lockdown 2020, I was working in the Labour Room and we were extremely busy. It was as if all the babies wanted to be born during Lockdown. This couple walked in,the woman was a first timer but they came in with a 2 years old child. Despite the Pain of this woman, she was holding tight to the child as the husband gets her card and carry out necessary procedure. Then she was asked if the child was hers, she said No. "You need to give the child to your husband for us to admit you fully." Baby started crying and mother too was crying. Kilode?? We were wondering😏. Eventually husband collected the baby. You know in General, you will have to buy everything including syringe, so list was given to husband. He went and came back empty handed. What happened?? He said he can't afford the list. Haa,what are we going to do? Wife was in intense pains. So we took her in,let's even examine first. As she opened her va**na like this, see leg of baby🙄, it was footling breech. Emergency!!!!!!!!!!!!! . We swung into action, quickly wrapping the baby's leg with gauze covered with Normal saline, got the on call Doctors. Started preparing mother for emergency C/S. Called the Husband to discuss this; He just sat on the floor with the little girl and started crying. He simply has no.money. it was lockdown. Both of them were Private school Teachers. We all became sober. Something needs to be done. One of our Dr's collected the list and ran down the pharmacy to collect the needed medication standing in gap. We on the other hand gathered all we could raise to buy the basic necessities and mother was sent to the theatre. Eventually we had a successful C/S.
Now to the main gist of this my write up, trust us as Nurses,we like aproko small🥰. We called the husband aside and questioned him and he told us a very interesting story.
(The little girl with him was a neighbour's daughter. The mother was a single mother, who lived in the same apartment as theirs. But 8 months after giving birth to the girl, she died. On the day she was dying, Wife was the one holding the daughter,no one knows neighbour was going to die. After her death, every effort to trace the woman's family failed. Hence Landlord entrusted the baby girl to them. They were newly married. They have cared for her since she was 8 months.) Days later after delivery, God came through for them. Someone came to the Hospital to ask if there is anyone who needs financial Help. Quickly we recommended them. This helper paid their bills. and gave them money to use for caring for their baby. It did not end there ooo,so many people started showing up and giving them money that they never asked for.
Its good to do good. Their Sacrifice of caring for someone else child was never in vain.
And let me tell you, that little girl was so clingy to them that no one.can tell she was not their biological daughter.
Do good. It pays.
Peace✌
