THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION

I know for most of us oh this is the elementary rudiments of our Christianity but it is good sometimes to go back to the drawing board and see how far we have complied and how far we have deviated from the purpose of salvation. And also to remind us of our values in the agenda of God. In essence also to be a help to the confused in the generation where another gospel has taken over from the real gospel, hear what Paul have to say 2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Galatians 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. Lastly this message is for sober reflection for every established disciples of Jesus.

Our major texts are John 3:16-17; Romans 1:16; Ephesians 2:8-9 by grace you are saved through faith, not by work…

The Gospel of Salvation is the greatest message ever given to mankind. It is God's good news to a lost and dying world. The Gospel declares that though man is separated from God by sin, God has made a way of reconciliation through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Salvation is not merely joining a church, changing one's religion, or becoming morally upright. Salvation is a divine work of God that transforms a sinner into a child of God and grants eternal life.

The Gospel is God's answer to man's greatest problem—sin.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..." (Romans 1:16).

1. THE CONDITION OF MAN WITHOUT SALVATION

Before anyone can appreciate salvation, he must understand his condition without Christ.

A. All Have Sinned
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Sin entered the world through Adam, and every human being inherited a sinful nature. Area Of Effect Of Sin: Sin has corrupted man's heart, mind, and relationship with God.

B. The Consequence of Sin

"For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23)
Sin produces:
• Spiritual death
• Separation from God
• Bo***ge to Satan
• Fear and guilt
• Eternal condemnation

Without Christ, mankind is hopelessly lost. Human being is doomed

2. GOD'S GREAT LOVE FOR HUMANITY

The Gospel begins with God's love.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son..." (John 3:16)

God did not wait for man to seek Him; He took the initiative to save humanity.

Evidence of God's Love

• He sent His Son. John 3:16-17

• He paid the price Himself. Acts 20:28

• He provided forgiveness freely. Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

• He offers salvation to all. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

The cross is the greatest demonstration of divine love. Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

3. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY OF SALVATION

The center of the Gospel is Jesus Christ.

His Death
Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for sin.
"Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

His Burial

His burial confirmed that He truly died. 1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

His Resurrection

Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, conquering death, hell, and the grave.

"And that he rose again the third day..." (1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Why Jesus Alone?

"Neither is there salvation in any other..." (Acts 4:10, 12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

No prophet, religion, tradition, or good work can save. Jesus alone is the Savior.

4. HOW TO RECEIVE SALVATION

Salvation is received by grace through faith.

A. Repentance
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God.
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted." (Acts 3:19)

B. Faith in Jesus Christ

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31)

Faith means trusting completely in Christ and His finished work on the cross.

C. Confession:
There are two types of confession needed (1) CONFESSION YOUR SINS AND (2) CONFESSION OF JESUS

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart... thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Salvation is not earned; it is received.

5. THE BLESSINGS OF SALVATION

A. Forgiveness of Sins

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins." (Ephesians 1:7)

B. Peace with God

"Being justified by faith, we have peace with God." (Romans 5:1)

C. New Birth

"Ye must be born again." (John 3:7)

D. Eternal Life

"The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

E. Freedom from Condemnation

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)

F. Adoption into God's Family

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God." (1 John 3:1)
