THEME: HELP FROM ABOVE.

MEMORISE:

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2

READ: Psalm 121
1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

MESSAGE:
When there was a famine in Samaria, two women conspired to take turns to kill their children for food. After they ate the child of the first woman, the other refused to surrender her own son for food. The first woman cried to the king for help but he replied, according to 2 kings 6:27 “….If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?”

The Psalmist is right in saying that his help comes from the Creator of heaven and earth, according to our memory verse today. Genuine help can only come from above. The Lord said in Psalm 50:15 “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

Many people however, trust other humans, to their disappointment. The Bible discourages us from putting our trust in men. Jeremiah 17:5 says “…..Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” Whereas verse 7 of the same chapter says “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”

Many years ago, someone heard that I was building a house and volunteered to supply blocks since he was a block manufacturer, offering to let me pay at my convenience. The moment this man realized I was roofing the house, he began to pester me to pay for the blocks he had supplied, in spite of our agreement that I could pay at my convenience. I reminded him that he was the one who offered that I could pay at my convenience but he insisted that I have to pay immediately. I cried to God for help with a promise that I would never make such a mistake again and He recued me. Beloved, I prophesy to your life that the help which would not expose you to ridicule afterwards will come your way this season, in Jesus’ name.

You must however put your trust in the Lord; you must choose not to have a ‘Plan B’ to your Present Help- the Almighty God. More importantly, you must surrender your life totally to Jesus Christ and abstain from all appearance of evil according to 1 Thessalonians 5:22.

The Lord will send you help from above, in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please send help from above today and don’t let me be put to shame, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 14: O GOD OUR HELP IN AGES PAST.
1. O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

4. Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men”:
All nations rose from earth at first,
And turn to earth again.

5. A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

6. The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in foll’wing years.

7. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the op’ning day.

8. Like flow’ry fields the nations stand
Pleased with the morning light;
The flow’rs beneath the mower’s hand
Lie with’ring ere ’tis night.

9. O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

THEME: DEALING WITH PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS

MEMORISE:

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? Matthew 18:1

READ: Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

MESSAGE:
When your results do not match your efforts, when you continue to meet a brick wall from every direction, you may be under attack from principalities and power. The good news is that God is going to deal with negative powers blocking your way to both spiritual and physical prosperity in Jesus' name.

We can draw a few things from the Scripture reading of today. One is that principalities and powers are personalities, and we must deal with them as such. Two, they are spirits, and cannot die. It will therefore take the power of God to deal with them. Every evil personality working against you shall be destroyed today in Jesus' name. Ephesians 6:12 says:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

The Scripture above is why Paul admonished believers to put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). The armor includes truth, righteousness and acceptance of the gospel of peace. For evil gates to shift ground for your good, you must be born-again (John 3:3-5). Not only that, you must also live in truth and righteousness. You must be holy (Matthew 5:48). You must also take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit - which is the word of God, with prayer and supplication in order to be able to resist and defeat the devil (Ephesians 6: 13-18).

Beloved, for principalities and powers to lose their hold, you must allow Jesus into your life as Lord. He is knocking at the door now; allow Him in if you haven't (Revelation 3:20). I recall going to pray for a rich man to who had been afflicted. This man refused to give his life to Christ even in that state and he eventually died. My prayer for you today is that you will not be a victim of oppression; rather you will be a victor over the devil in Jesus' name. Today is the day of salvation ( 2 Corinthians 6:2). If you have backslidden, you must return and restitute your ways (Revelation 2:5).

PRAYER POINT:
Father, help me to conquer all principalities and powers blocking my blessings, in the mighty name of Jesus.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 10-11.

HYMN 1: ALL HAIL THE POW'R OF JESUS NAME.

1. All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ Name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all!

2. Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all!

3. Let every kindred, every tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all!

4. Oh, that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.

THEME: HAVE FAITH, NOT FEAR

MEMORISE:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

READ: Psalm 91:5-6

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

MESSAGE:
If you have given your life to Jesus, then you should have nothing to fear because you will begin to dwell in the secret place of the Most High where you are assured of His protection. There was no fear in man until he allowed the devil in. It was when the devil convinced Adam and Eve to disobey God that fear came in. After Adam and Eve sinned, they had to hide themselves when they heard God coming. When God called, Adam said he heard God's voice and he was afraid (Genesis 3:10).

Fear is the opposite of faith. While faith means that you believe God, fear means that you believe the devil. In other words, if you do not have faith, then you have fear. Fear belongs to the children of the devil. However, once you cross from the side of the devil to the side of God, there will be no more fear. This is because fear comes from darkness and since Jesus is Light, He will dispel all forms of darkness. When Jesus comes into your life, rather than fear, He gives you the Spirit of love, power joy and of a sound mind. Romans 8:14-15 says:
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bo***ge again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."

Children of God are guided by the Holy Spirit. Jesus has promised to give all His children the power of the Holy Ghost so as not to be afraid. If you are a child of God, you have no business with fear. From time immemorial, God has always put a dividing line between those who serve Him wholeheartedly and those who refuse to. He always rewards everyone according to their works. If you are righteous, He rewards you so that you can remain so, if you are living in sin, He arranges for you to forsake wickedness and join the righteous family of God. Psalm 121:7says:
"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul."

With all these wonderful promises, you have no cause to fear as God's child. Whatever is causing you to panic, the Lord will destroy it in your life and family in Jesus’ name. Do not be afraid, God is your refuge and the Present Help in the time of need (Psalm 46:1).

ACTION POINT:
Check your life and prayerfully do away with whatever bring fear, panic and anxiety.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 8-9.

HYMN 23: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING.

1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

o Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

3. Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

4. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

THEME: HE WILL TAKE YOU THERE!

MEMORISE:

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 3:21

READ: John 14:1-3
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

MESSAGE:
The ultimate goal of all genuine Christians is to make Heaven; this is why Jesus died for mankind. Jesus said of Himself in Luke 19:10:
"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Only overcomers can make it to Heaven. How then can you overcome? First, you must overcome all the evil thoughts in your heart. Our Lord Jesus said in Revelation 3:20:
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Proverbs 23:26 also says "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways."

Beloved, when we allow Jesus Christ to come into our hearts, He will give us victory over all the thoughts that defile us and make us candidates of hell. You must allow Jesus into your heart because naturally, the heart of man is desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).

What exactly is in the heart that makes it wicked? Mark 7:21-23 provides the answer to this question:
"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

It is only those who overcome the above listed sins who would get the power to enter into Heavenly bliss. You cannot do it by yourself; this is why you need Jesus, who can give you the power to live above sin. The power that overcomes sin is the power we need to make Heaven and Jesus is ready to give you if you are willing to forsake Satan, sin and every form of wickedness.
You must make conscious efforts to flee all appearances of evil like Joseph in Potiphar’s house. Beginning from now, your struggles with sin are over in Jesus' name.

The power of "Go and sin no more" as was given by Jesus to the woman caught in the act of adultery shall be yours today and you shall make Heaven at last, in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please give me the power to overcome sin today. Make me a candidate of heavenly bliss, in the mighty name of Jesus.

HYMN 4: CONQUERORS AND OVERCOMERS NOW ARE WE.

1. When the hosts of Israel, led by God,
Round the walls of Jericho softly trod,
Trusting in the Lord, they felt the conqu’ror’s tread,
By faith they saw the victory ahead.

o Refrain:
Victory ahead! Victory ahead!
Through the blood of Jesus, victory ahead;
Trusting in the Lord, I hear the conqu’ror’s tread,
By faith I see the victory ahead!

2. David with a shepherd’s sling and five stones,
Met the giant on the field all alone,
Trusting in the Lord, he knew what God had said,
By faith he saw the victory ahead.

3. Daniel prayed unto the Lord thrice each day,
Then unto the lion’s den led the way,
Trusting in the Lord, he did not fear or dread,
By faith he saw the victory ahead.

4. Often with the carnal mind I was tried,
Asking for deliverance oft I cried,
Trusting in the Lord, I reckoned I was dead,
By faith I saw the victory ahead.

5. When like those who’ve gone before to that land,
By death’s river cold and dark I shall stand;
Trusting in the Lord, I will not fear or dread,
By faith I see the victory ahead.

Peter, The Apostle

OPENING PRAYER:
Father, use me mightily for your glory. Let signs and wonders begin to manifest in my ministry.

MEMORY VERSE:
“Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.” – Acts 5:15

BIBLE PASSAGE:

Matthew 16:13-19. KJV

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:
Apostle Peter played a significant role in the history of the church despite his background (Acts 4:13; 5:15). We want to learn some crucial lessons from his life and ministry.

THEME: YOU CAN BE RICH AND RIGHTEOUS

MEMORISE:

Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. Proverbs 8:18

READ: Malachi 3:10-12
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

MESSAGE:
Many children of Goo have misconceptions about prosperity. Some think that being Christian means that they have to be poor, forgetting that God Himself said in Proverbs 8:18:

"Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness."

Imagine God, our Father having the possession of riches and righteousness. This revelation counters the notion that you cannot be righteous and rich at the same time. Today, I decree that the power to get wealth shall come upon you in Jesus' name.

Those people who think that wealth is alien to God run after the devil and he deceives them into thinking that he has wealth. The devil tried this with Jesus in Luke 4:6, but our Savior knows better. The truth is that only God can give you power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). He blessed Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in their generations as we see in Genesis 22:15-18; 26:12-14; 32:9-10. When Jabez cried unto God in 1 Chronicle 4:10, God blessed him greatly. Peter, the struggling fisherman, encountered the King of glory at the lake of Gennesaret, and suddenly he became prosperous, looking for additional hands to help him gather his bountiful harvest (Luke 5:4-9). This same God will give you power to get wealth today in Jesus' name.

The question now is "How do we get this power to become wealthy?" It is simple. Always worship the Lord with fear and trembling. Commit to meditating on His word (Joshua 1:8, Deuteronomy 28:1). You must also not forget to be like Him in your dedication to service. God would only give His riches and honor to diligent people; you must never be lazy or idle. Furthermore, you must keep His commandments in the areas of tithes, offering and first-fruits, remembering the needy, the widow and the orphan (Proverbs 19:17). Finally, you must live and spend your income prudently because Proverb 21:17 says "He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man..."

We shall be wise, in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please give me the power to get wealth and I will become a channel of blessing to the world.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 4-5.

HYMN 25: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.

1. There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

o Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2. There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

3. There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

4. There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

5. There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
