A certain respected preacher is making the rounds on social media for repenting from being a charlatan who supposedly preached "prosperity" to a "sound" Man of God who now preaches Christ alone. Someone even shared with me a video containing merged excerpts of before and after of his newly found truth.
I sincerely don't know whether I should completely rejoice for him or not because after watching the clip, he seems not to have properly diagnosed what exactly was his problem. So like an addict who thinks the object of his temptation was his problem, and so demonizes it not knowing that temptations are nothing but an inward faulty disposition to a neutral, harmless circumstance, he ended up on the other extreme of his soon found "truth" and still wind up in the ditch again!
This is exactly the issue with most supposed "repentant" preachers, I've seen make the rounds about their newly found truth. They don't get to diagnose what exactly their problem is and so in assumption demonize the message they've emphasized in the past years. For example, they'd usually come up to say things like, "I've preached prosperity for many years and now found out it is not the gospel but the true gospel is Grace."
Then they preach the so-called "Grace" until they can't make much sense anymore and worse still contradict themselves. So it turns out that their problem in the first place wasn't the prosperity, deliverance, or healing that they once preached but their dragging those teachings out of proportion which was a fruit of not understanding what they were preaching
Hence, they start making untrue assertions like, "Jesus doesn't prosper anyone financially, he only gives salvation, otherwise, the likes of Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos won't be rich, use your brains, fsfsfsfsfgg, etc"
Really?
Well, whilst it is true that The Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos of this world without knowing Jesus already have all the good things of life doesn't validates such an extreme idea that quietens God's involvement in seeing his people prosper financially
Scripture says "God causes his rain to fall both on the evil and good." So whilst a "Bill Gate" may refuse to acknowledge that there is a God who ultimately made his wealth and enjoying of the same possible; a Christian on the other hand should be smarter and so acknowledge God as his provider. God didn't deny Satan's claim when he(satan) accused Him (God) of blessing Job materially!
In fact, it is ungodly for a believer to accord his material possession to his brain alone. The idea that says all you need to be rich is a clean brain is not correct. The same slant amplifies the wrong notion that says believers are poor because they are lazy. Peter and the other fishermen weren't lazy. They toiled all night catching nothing until Jesus came into the scene.
Jesus can come into your finances and turn it all around! He can cause you to walk into favour; supernaturally bring you into profitable relationships and broadcast your skills and services for patronage. Himself during his earthly walk found favour with God and Man.
The fact is, the Bible is replete with recorded events that prove how almost everything including our finances can be influenced spiritually, hence, by faith in prayer, and following the leadings of God's Spirit, we can walk into prosperity and we won't be smart to credit such prosperity to our brains or some hocus-pocus.
So it is clear, many times, such preachers haven't really understood what they are preaching and many times end up just splitting airs on almost inconsequential matters of semantics and the world too ends up perceiving them and anyone that affirms some of what they affirm as unrealistic extremists who louds impracticable theology.
Just to be clear, I know, understand, and preach eternal salvation in Christ. I use the name of Jesus to deliver those in Satan's captivity - week in, week out, yes, I preach financial prosperity from Bible logic, Bible Themes on Money, holiness, sobriety, and lots more.
I don't have to quieten a truth to loud another!
Jesus saves, heals, delivers, and prospers!!!!
Amen!
