GOOD FRIDAY
Theme: The Power of the Cross – The Seven Words of Jesus

Good Friday is not just a day of mourning—it is a day of divine transaction.
On the cross, Jesus was not just dying… He was speaking.

Every word He spoke carried power, meaning, and eternal impact.
The cross became a pulpit, and His words became the foundation of our salvation.

1. “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

📖 Luke 23:34

Even in pain, Jesus chose forgiveness.
He did not curse—He interceded.

If Jesus could forgive in His worst moment, then forgiveness is not optional for us.
Unforgiveness is a burden the cross already carried.

2. “Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

📖 Luke 23:43

A criminal, at his last moment, found mercy.

Lesson:
It is never too late to repent.
Grace is available—even at the edge of death.

3. “Woman, behold thy son!… Behold thy mother!”

📖 John 19:26–27

In the midst of suffering, Jesus cared for His mother.

Lesson:
God is mindful of relationships.
Spiritual responsibility does not end because of personal pain.

4. “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

📖 Matthew 27:46
This was the moment Jesus carried the full weight of sin.

Lesson:
He was forsaken so you would never be forsaken.
Even when God feels silent, He is still working.

5. “I thirst.”

📖 John 19:28

Jesus expressed human weakness.

Lesson:
He understands your pain, your weakness, your struggles.
You serve a Savior who feels what you feel.

6. “It is finished.”

📖 John 19:30

This was not a cry of defeat—it was a declaration of victory.

Lesson:
The work of salvation is complete.
Your sins are paid for. Your freedom is secured.
Stop fighting battles that Jesus already finished.

7. “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.”

📖 Luke 23:46

Jesus surrendered completely to God.

The ultimate act of faith is surrender.
Your life is safest in God’s hands.

Conclusion
The cross was not the end—it was the turning point of destiny.

Forgiveness was released
Salvation was secured
Victory was declared

Jesus did not just die…
He finished the work

Because of the cross, your story has changed

Day 44

TOPIC: OUNJE ALE OLUWA (Holy Communion)

Beloved, today’s reflection centers on Onje Ale Oluwa — the Lord’s Supper. In Mark 14:17–21 and Luke 22:14–19, we see Jesus sharing bread and wine with His disciples, saying, “Do this in remembrance of Me.” The Holy Communion is not just a ritual; it is a covenant meal. The bread reminds us of His body broken for our healing, and the cup of wine symbolizes His blood shed for our forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

Communion is a call to intimacy. It is not about empty tradition but about remembering Christ’s sacrifice and renewing our fellowship with Him. Paul warns in 1 Corinthians 11:27–28 that we must examine ourselves before partaking, so that we do not take it lightly. It is a meal of grace, a reminder that we are loved, forgiven, and united with Christ.

As we partake, let us do so with reverence, gratitude, and faith — knowing that His love is poured out for us, and His presence is with us always.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your body and blood. As we remember Your sacrifice, cleanse our hearts, renew our faith, and draw us closer to You. May this communion strengthen us to walk in love, holiness, and obedience until we see You face to face.

Amen

DAY 43

TOPIC : AGIDI TABI ORI KUNKUN (HEADEDNESS & STUBBORNNESS)

Bible References:

Proverbs 16:18, Ezekiel 2:4–7, Romans 1:30–31, Ezekiel 3:27, Jeremiah 50:31–32, Proverbs 11:2

Stubbornness is a silent destroyer. It doesn’t always shout—it resists correction, rejects instruction, and refuses to bend even when God is speaking clearly.

The Bible says pride goes before destruction. Many people don’t fall because they didn’t hear God—they fall because they refused to listen.

A stubborn heart argues with God, delays obedience, and chooses self over truth. It hardens the spirit and blocks divine direction.

God sent prophets to Israel, yet they were described as stiff-necked. That means they heard—but would not change.

Today, check your heart:

Do you resist correction?
Do you justify wrong actions?
Do you delay obedience when God speaks?

Brokenness attracts grace. But stubbornness invites downfall.

Prayer:
Lord, break every stubborn spirit in me. Give me a soft heart that obeys quickly. Let me not resist Your voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 42

TOPIC: POWER IN PRAYER (AGBARA NÍNÚ ÀDÚRÀ)

BIBLE REFERENCES:
1 Samuel 1:9–18
Acts 16:25–31
Daniel 6:17–27
Daniel 3:12–27
Matthew 8:8–13
Acts 10:1–4

Prayer is not just talking—it is power.

Many believers pray casually, but in the Bible, prayer produced results. Hannah prayed and received a child. Paul and Silas prayed in prison and chains were broken. Daniel prayed and lions lost their power.

Prayer is a weapon. It can open doors no man can open and shut doors no man can shut.

But here is the truth:
It is not every prayer that carries power.

Powerful prayer comes from:

Faith

Consistency

A surrendered heart

In Acts 16:25, when Paul and Silas prayed, heaven responded immediately. Their environment changed because prayer shifted it.

If you are not praying, you are powerless.
If you pray lightly, you get light results.
But if you pray with fire, heaven will answer with power.

DEEP TRUTH
Prayer can change impossible situations

Prayer can break chains instantly

Prayer connects you directly to God

DAY 41

TOPIC: OBEDIENCE TO GOD (GBIGBỌ́ ỌRỌ̀ SÍ ÀṢẸ OLÓRUN)

BIBLE REFERENCES:
1 Samuel 15:18–21
Acts 4:18–20
Deuteronomy 7:12–15
Leviticus 26:3–12

Obedience is the language of true sons.

God does not measure your spirituality by how loud you pray, how long you fast, or how active you are in church—He measures it by your obedience.

King Saul looked spiritual on the outside, but inside, he was disobedient. He tried to explain his disobedience, justify it, and spiritualize it. But God is not moved by explanations—He responds to obedience.

Many believers today are like Saul:

God said “wait” — but they moved

God said “leave it” — but they touched it

God said “be quiet” — but they spoke

And yet, they still expect blessings.

Listen carefully: You cannot walk in God’s promises while rejecting His instructions.

In Deuteronomy 7:12, blessings are tied to obedience. Not wishes. Not emotions. Obedience.

If you obey, you will see His hand.
If you disobey, you will struggle unnecessarily.

DEEP TRUTH (SPIRITUAL INSIGHT)
Obedience attracts God’s presence

Disobedience attracts delay and frustration

One act of obedience can change your destiny

Day 40

TOPIC :
OJÓ ISIMI IMO OPE – JESU WO JERUSALEM
(Palm Sunday – The Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ)

Bible Reference:
Matthew 21:1–11
Mark 11:1–11

Palm Sunday marks the day Jesus entered Jerusalem like a King, but not with pride or war — He came in humility, riding on a donkey.

The people welcomed Him with joy, shouting:
“Hosanna!” (meaning Save us now!)

They spread palm branches and clothes on the road, honoring Him as King.

But here is the deep truth:
👉 The same crowd that shouted Hosanna would later shout “Crucify Him.”

This shows that:

Many people follow God emotionally, not truly.

Not everyone who celebrates Jesus is genuinely committed to Him.

🔥 Spiritual Lessons:
Jesus is King — but a humble King
He didn’t come to show power, but to save souls.

Don’t be a seasonal follower of Christ
Some people praise today, deny tomorrow.

True worship must come from the heart
Not just shouting, singing, or public display.

Recognize the time of your visitation
Jerusalem missed their moment — don’t miss yours.

Application (For Your Life):
Are you following Jesus because of blessings or because you truly love Him?

Is your worship real or just for show?

Will you still stand for Him when it’s not popular?

Prayer Points:
Lord, help me to follow You genuinely, not emotionally.

Father, remove hypocrisy from my life.

Jesus, be truly King over my heart.

I will not deny You in difficult times.

🎶 About the Hymn:
The hymn “Ma gesin lọ l’ọla nla Rẹ” is celebrating Jesus’ kingship and victory, encouraging us to honor Him as the glorious King, not just with words, but with our lives.

DAY 39

TOPIC: ÒTÍ MÍMÙ, SÍGÀ ATI TÀBÀ FÍNFÍN
(Drunkenness, Smoking and Snuffing)

Bible References: Prov. 31:4–7; Hab. 2:15; Gal. 5:21; Luke 21:34; 1 Cor. 5:11; Gen. 9:20–24

Drunkenness and addiction to substances like ci******es and s***f are not just physical habits—they are spiritual traps that gradually take control of a person’s life.

The Bible clearly warns in Galatians 5:21 that drunkenness is a work of the flesh and those who practice such will not inherit the kingdom of God. What may start as “just a little” can grow into bo***ge.

In Habakkuk 2:15, the Bible condemns giving drink to others to make them drunk. This shows that both participating in and promoting such acts are dangerous before God.

The story of Noah (Genesis 9:20–24) reminds us how drunkenness can lead to shame and loss of dignity. A man who once walked with God became exposed because of uncontrolled indulgence.

Today, many youths see smoking and drinking as “normal” or a sign of maturity, but Luke 21:34 warns us not to let our hearts be weighed down with drunkenness and the cares of this life.

Key Lessons
Addiction weakens spiritual sensitivity.

What controls you becomes your master.

Drunkenness leads to loss of dignity and direction.

A holy life requires discipline over the body.

Reflection
Is there any habit controlling me instead of God?

Do I justify what God has condemned?

Am I influencing others negatively through my lifestyle?

Prayer Points
Lord, deliver me from every addiction and unhealthy habit.

Break every chain of drunkenness, smoking, and substance dependence in my life.

Give me the grace to live a disciplined and holy life.

Help me not to be a bad influence to others.

Fill me with Your Spirit so I will not satisfy the desires of the flesh.

Your body is the temple of God—do not allow anything to control or defile it. True freedom is not in indulgence but in self-control through Christ.

Stay sober. Stay spiritually alert. 🙏

DAY 38

TOPIC: ÀKÒ ÀPÀRÀ ATI ÀÌBÒWỌ́ FÚN ÀGBÀ
(Expensive Jokes and Disrespect to Elders)

Bible References: Matt. 26:67–68; Deut. 5:16; Matt. 15:4; Eph. 6:2–3; 2 Kings 2:23–24; 1 Peter 5:5–6; 1 Tim. 5:1–3, 16–17

In today’s generation, what people call “cruise” or “jokes” has gone beyond harmless fun. Many now make expensive jokes that dishonor elders, insult authority, and mock those deserving respect. As believers, this is not just a social issue—it is a spiritual concern.

In Matthew 26:67–68, even Jesus was mocked and ridiculed. Disrespect is not new, but God does not take it lightly. The commandment in Deuteronomy 5:16 is clear: “Honor your father and your mother.” This principle extends beyond parents to elders, leaders, and spiritual authorities.

The story in 2 Kings 2:23–24 shows the danger of dishonoring elders. What seemed like “small mockery” led to serious consequences. This teaches us that careless words and disrespectful attitudes can open doors to destruction.

In our daily lives—especially among youths—sarcasm, online trolling, and rude humor have become normal. But Ephesians 6:2–3 reminds us that honor brings blessing and long life.

Key Lessons
Not every joke is harmless—some are spiritually costly.

Disrespect is a seed that produces negative consequences.

Honor is a divine principle that attracts favor and longevity.

Humility is a mark of true spiritual maturity (1 Peter 5:5–6).

Reflection
Do my words reflect honor or hidden disrespect?

Have I used jokes to belittle elders or authority figures?

Am I modeling respect in speech, online and offline?

Prayer Points
Lord, forgive me for every careless word and disrespectful attitude.

Help me to walk in humility and honor toward elders.

Remove every spirit of pride and mockery from my life.

Teach me to use my words to bless, not to insult.

Let the grace to live a life of honor rest upon me.

As you continue this Lenten journey, let your speech be purified. True spirituality is not just in prayer and fasting—but in how you treat people, especially those above you. Honor opens doors that strength cannot.

Stay disciplined. Stay humble. 🙏

DAY 37

Topic: Ìkà Sí Ọmọnìkejì (Wickedness to Others)

Wickedness is not always loud or obvious—it can be hidden in actions, words, or even intentions. Treating others unjustly, planning harm, jealousy, betrayal, or taking advantage of people is all wickedness in God’s sight.

Proverbs 17:11 tells us that an evil man seeks only rebellion, and judgment will surely come. Also, the story in Esther 3:6–10 shows how Haman’s wicked plan against Mordecai and the Jews eventually led to his own downfall. This reminds us that wickedness never ends well.

Lesson:
God sees the heart. Even when people don’t see what you do, God sees your intentions. Wickedness may seem to prosper for a while, but it always has consequences.

Reality Check (For Youth):

Backstabbing friends

Spreading rumors or lies

Hurting people emotionally or physically

Taking advantage of others for personal gain

Secret hatred or jealousy

All these things may feel small, but they are seeds of wickedness.

Reflection:
Are your actions bringing peace to others or pain?

Key Truth:
You cannot claim to love God and still deliberately hurt others.

Prayer Points:

Lord, cleanse my heart from every form of wickedness.

Father, remove jealousy, hatred, and evil thoughts from me.

Help me to love others genuinely and treat them right.

Every evil intention in my heart, be uprooted in Jesus’ name.

Choose kindness over wickedness. The way you treat others is a reflection of who you truly are before God.

25/03/2026

DAY 36

TOPIC: Iṣẹ́ Wíwò Àtí Ògùn Sísè (Consulting Oracle & Black Medicine)

This topic warns us against seeking power, direction, or solutions outside God. Many people today still run to prophets, herbalists, or spiritual mediums for answers instead of trusting God fully. But the truth is simple: anything outside God becomes an idol.

In Leviticus 19:31, God clearly warns us not to turn to familiar spirits or mediums. Why? Because they defile and disconnect us from Him. Also, in 2 Kings 1:3–5, when King Ahaziah sought help from Baal-zebub instead of God, it led to his destruction.

Lesson:
God is a jealous God. When you consult other powers, you are indirectly saying God is not enough. And that is dangerous spiritually.

Reality Check (For Youth):

Looking for “quick solutions” through charms
Visiting spiritual houses secretly
Trusting “prophetic items” more than God
These things may look harmless, but they pull you away from God gradually.

Reflection:
Where do you run first when you have problems — God or somewhere else?

Key Truth:
What God cannot do does not exist. If you truly believe this, you won’t need any other source.

Prayer Points:

Father, forgive me for every time I have trusted other powers above You.
Lord, disconnect me from every ungodly spiritual influence in my life.
Give me the grace to trust You completely, no matter the situation.
Every covenant with dark powers (knowingly or unknowingly), be broken in Jesus’ name.

Stay with God. Even if the answer seems slow, His way is always safe and sure.
