Zechariah 9:9 is a prophetic announcement that cuts through time. God is saying to His people:
“Lift up your eyes. Your King is coming toward you.”

Not a tyrant.
Not a destroyer.
Not another burden-maker.
A King who comes with salvation, humility, and peace.

This is the only King who rides, not on a war horse, but on a donkey — a symbol that He comes not to intimidate you, but to draw near to you.
