1 CORINTHIANS ‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬ ‭
“These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.”
‭‭
LIGHT: This chapter was talking about lessons that we can learn from the Israelites, experiences/ stories of people are written in the scripture so we can learn from them. Everything you’re going through, you can find in the scripture if only you can it with it and read.

INSTRUCTIONS: Read the Bible, study the Bible, mediate and apply the word.
There are so many mistakes that will be avoided if we can study our Bible and get wisdom from there, to apply in our daily lives.

PRAYER: Lord, open the eyes of my understanding, give me insights into your word, and let it be profitable to me, amen.

STAY CLEAR

1 CORINTHIANS 10:12 NLT[12] If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.

LIGHT: Apostle Paul gave examples of what the Israelites did and its consequences, advising the people of Corinthians to be watchful and not fall victim of such nor claim to have the ability to withstand it.

INSTRUCTION: Flee from every appearance of the flesh and seek after the fruit of the Spirit for growth and edification.

PRAYER: Lord, help me not only to resist the things of the flesh but to also flee from every appearance of it, strengthening me continuously to walk in your ways and yield to your bidding. Amen

1 CORINTHIANS 10:12-13 NIV‬
12. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! ‭This warns that prior spiritual experience does not guarantee safety if one is unfaithful.
13. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also *provide a way out* so that you can endure it.

INSTRUCTION: Do not rely on past spiritual experiences; remain steadfast in obedience daily.

Trust God for strength during temptation and always choose the way of escape He provides.

PRAYER: Father, help me to stand firm in obedience and not fall into temptation. Help and deliver me from worldly distraction. Give me the strength to walk faithfully with You daily, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

1 CORINTHIANS ‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.”
‭
LIGHT: Idolatry is not only when you sculpt out an image from a wood that you bow to every day.
This day, anything can be your idol, as long as you place it above God. Your phone, beauty, relationships, social media, job, money, etc.

INSTRUCTION: What have you placed above God?
What has become your idol?
Remember, you must not serve any other god, God is a jealous God.
You can’t serve two masters.
Place everything before God not above God.
Flee from Idolatry.

PRAYER: I am helped to serve God and Him alone. I won’t bow to any other images.
Amen

DECLARATION

Throughout 2026, God preserved me and every member of my family. We have all finished the year strong, healthy and prosperous. We easily achieved all of the goals that we set, finding seeming obstacles as our best assets as they proved to be the stepping stones to our multiplication and quantum leaps.

THE ENLIGHTENED SOULS DEVOTIONAL
SATURDAY, 2ND MAY, 2026.

1 CORINTHIANS 9:25–27
“All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”
‭‭

LIGHT: This passage reminds us that the Christian life is not passive, it is intentional. Just like an athlete trains with discipline to win, we are called to live with purpose and self-control. It is not enough to speak or teach others, our lives must also be trained and aligned. We are still in process, and consistency matters if we want to finish well.

INSTRUCTION: Stay disciplined in your daily walk with God. Be intentional about the habits you build, what you feed your mind, how you respond, and how you live. Do not assume you have “arrived”; keep growing, keep refining, and keep submitting yourself to God.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to live with discipline and purpose. Teach me to bring my body and desires under Your control. Keep my heart aligned with You so that my life reflects what I preach. Help me to remain consistent and not fall short, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

FRIDAY, 1ST MAY, 2026.

1 CORINTHIANS 9:11–13
11:If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
12:If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless, we have not used this power, but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
13: Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? And they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

LIGHT: This scripture explains that ministers of God who have impacted our lives especially our spiritual leaders have the right to receive material support from us. However, this should be done willingly and from the heart, not out of compulsion, so that we may receive the blessings that come from giving.

In other words, it is important that we are a blessing to people around us, either through spiritual or material things.

INSTRUCTION: Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal, it shall be measured to you again.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to be a blessing to many and not a burden to others, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
