FAITH BOOSTER

Topic: Holy Spirit
Bible Passages: Exodus 19:1-21; Acts 2:1-20

We magnify the Lord, Trinity for His faithfulness and loving kindness in our lives. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus' name.

Happy Pentecost Day! May Spirit of Lord continue to abide with us in Jesus name.

The Holy Spirit is the Third of the Trinity. It is the Comforter, Guide, Advocate, the Spirit of Truth, the Messenger, the Teacher and the Intercessor Christ promised to send to us. He is saddled with the responsibility of finishing the work of salvation started in Christ Jesus. He is faithful like God, the Father who delivered the children from the clutch of the Egyptians.

The Holy Spirit is holy. No unholiness can come near God. He lives in us hence our body is the Lord's temple (1 Corinthians 3:16). Our body therefore we must keep holy.

In the first Bible Passage, God, the Father, the First of the Trinity instructed the children of Israelites to sanctify themselves two days ahead of their encounter with Him on Mount Sinai. This emphasizes sanctification and consecration in our journey with God. He is a consuming fire and He tolerates no disobedience hence He instructed the Israelites not to touch Mount Sinai on their day of encounter with Him.

In the second Bible passage, we see the third personality of God, the Holy Spirit. The Scripture is the fulfilment of the prophecy of the Lord through Prophet Joel and the promise of our Lord Jesus to send us the Holy Spirit to remind us His teachings (Joel 2:28-32; John 14:15-17; 15:26-27).

The criterion for manifestation of the Holy Spirit is oneness. It couldn't have descended on the apostles if they harbour grudge, hatred, envy, backbiting, jealousy, spite, vendetta among others and engender discord, dissension and disunity. God is not an author of confusion. His house is a place of encounter; your preparedness to appear before Him determines what you get in His presence. Let's dwell in holiness and love and let it flow without deceit in the church, our home, in our respective lives and everywhere we go.

The presence of Holy Spirit in our lives enables manifestation of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7) and brings forth fruits of the Spirit. Our priority as believers should be fruits of the Spirit which are fruits evident of a child of God (Galatians 5:22). Anybody can manifest the spiritual gifts, even the devil. They are for power and exploits. Obedience is cardinal to our journey of faith. You can't grow in Spirit if you continue in sin for it is an act of disobedience against God's will.

Spiritual discipline and intelligence is also core to growing in the Holy Spirit. A child of the Spirit bridles their tongue and desire, is not greedy, promiscuous neither is he or she a gluttonous eater. Many have fallen from grace beyond discernment because of these traits. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego stood out because they had spiritual discipline and intelligence (Daniel 1). The Bible is our sword of the Spirit and the lens through which the dictates of the Holy Spirit is confirmed. If it contradicts the will of God in His words, it is not of God. You and I must therefore read and meditate on the word of God so it can give us good success for guidance and interpretation (Joshua 1:8) and fast and pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). You and I cannot have a successful journey with the Lord if you lack them.

To kickstart this journey of faith today or realign yourself with God, give your life to Christ and accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour.

He loves you!

Prayer: Father I thank you for your abiding presence. I submit myself to your will, establish me in you in Jesus' name.

LIFE-GIVER

Bible Passage: John 14:12-20
We thank God, our Rock, Shield and Salvation in times of adversity for His faithfulness. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus' name.

Our life-giver is a word of edification to you and me in our journey of faith.

The Bible passage emphasizes our belief in Jesus as our Lord in our faith journey and the capacity bequeathed to us in Him to work wonders like Him.

Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him (John 14:10-11). All authority and power is given to Him that at the men of His name every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. He has gone to the Father to prepare a place for you and me.

Our sonship is a function of our belief in Him and total obedience to His words, commandments and His will. Do you believe in Him? Do you do His will?

No child is disobliged by his/her father. Only a disobedient child brings such a fate upon him/herself. An obedient child is favoured by his/her parent. This same way children of God's requests are answered to His glory for as they ask, He replies and meets their needs.

Obedience is an expression of love for God and Jesus. Hence, Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth to help us, guide us, remind us His teachings and be with us forever to finish the work of salvation. He lives in us. He is the Third person of the Trinity.

Jesus lives forever more for you and me His beloved. He is coming soon!

Are you preparing for His second coming?

LIFE-GIVER

Topic: Prepare the Way of the Lord
Bible Passage: John 1:21-31

Glory, honour and power be to the Lord, our God for His undying love for us. May His name be highly exalted forever in Jesus' name.

Our life-giver today is clarion call to you and me to prepare the way of the Lord for His second coming (Isaiah 40:3-5; Matthew 3:1-3).

You cannot achieve this without giving your life to Christ and accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour. This is what Lord Jesus affirmed in John 3:3 to Nicodemus when he asked the cardinal action to take to make heaven. Called to serve, God has given you an spiritual identity and office which will announce you to serve Him in such a capacity. It may be as a prophet, an evangelist, apostle, a shepherd (pastor) or a teacher in one department or the other in the body of Christ.

To begin with, you must have a cordial relationship with God in a journey with Him and fellowship with Him. You must meditate and renew your mind the word of God (Romans 12:2; Joshua 1:8). You must live a life of consecration and dedication to the Lord (Romans 12:1). On this path, He will reveal the truth to you that Jesus is the Saviour of humanity. Not the flesh and blood but God made it known to John for he was sent by Him to serve as a forerunner to Christ.

Jesus came and paid the ultimate price for our sin. It is incumbent on you and me to prepare the way of the Lord and make straight His ways. This starts with your testimony of Him as the Saviour of humanity. With all the gifts, talents and other advantages God has given, you are to preach the gospel, testify of His goodness and win souls for Christ -- do the kingdom work. Thinking along this line, John emphasized testifying about Jesus and baptism which together represent conversion or soulwinning of unbeliever for Christ.

Start the revival and evangelism from your home. Take it everywhere you go. Let your speech, character, attitude, relationship with people, interaction and your dress code preach the gospel. Flee from every appearance of sin and stand for Christ. Don't blow your trumpet about yourself; let people see Christ in you and accept Him through you. That is you showing everyone that Jesus is Lord.

John's testimony of Jesus in the Bible passage shows us the Lordship of Jesus as the Saviour of humanity (John 1:29). You and me like John are called to prepare the way and make it straight for the second coming of Jesus Christ. You are a living testimony of the goodness and greatness of His Lordship and you live in awe of Him every day.

Time is of the essence. It is never too late. Win souls for Christ!

He is coming soon to judge the world! Are you rapturable?

Prayer: Father, I thank you for reminding me one of the reasons I am alive today. I submit myself to your stewardship, establish me on this path to serve you and at the end reign with you in Jesus' name.

FAITH BOOSTER

Topic: Unwavering Faith 3
Bible Passages: Genesis 22:1-18; Hebrews 11:1-12

We give thanks to God for His deeds of mercy in our lives. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus' name.

Our faith booster takes another dimension on unwavering faith. It establishes Father Abraham as a man of faith who obeyed God's instructions to sacrifice his only son to Him.

To a rational man, it is nonsensical to sacrifice his only child to God. However, that is how faith works. It must not always make sense but requires your intentionality and obedience to God's instructions.

God will test your faith to know how much you love him, believe him and how much you obey Him. The test can come in form of trials and tribulations to which He will definitely create an escape for you (1 Corinthians 10:13). The same thing Jehovah Jireh did for Abraham by providing a ram to replace Isaac at Moriah. Abraham's sacrifice tells us how God will sacrifice Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son for the salvation and redemption of man.

Without faith no man can please God (Hebrews 11:6). He rewards those who believe Him and diligently seek Him. Who said it is over for you? Walk in faith with Him this year and behold your age-long impossibilities realign into possibilities in Jesus' name. You stall your blessings and miracles with your unbelief. Build your faith gradually.

Abraham and other men of faith obtained good report through faith (Hebrews 11:2). Your faith produces hope through obedience. These are virtues portrayed by people of faith in the Scripture (Hebrews 11:4-12). Imbibe them!

The standard of faith God wants you to live by is an unwavering one. He wants you to submit the totality of your life to Him. Let Him erase your fears and worry and replace it with courage and determination.

By faith your prayer is answered, even when you are yet to see results. It requires patience for a person with an unstable in his ways cannot receive anything of the Lord (James 1:3-8). These truths Abraham was conversant of and lived by. Because of this, God swore by His name, blessed him and made him the father of all nations. Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of Abraham's blessings and by adoption through Him, we enjoy the blessings. He laid another benchmark of faith for us to follow in love.

He loves you! Won't you journey with Him for rest of the year in faith?

Topic: Unwavering Faith
Bible Passage: Mark 5:25-43

I give all the honour to the eternal King of glory. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus' name.

Our life-giver focuses on faith, one of the pillars of Christianity. It is a spiritual gift you and I must manifest and a fruit of the Spirit we must portray to show our belief in God. Faith focuses on God's will and most times it doesn't need to make sense by human standard. However, it is required that we align totally with the will of God for us so that it can manifest. It requires obedience, hope, love for God, audacity, boldness, courage which are fuelled by the Holy Spirit.

Faith is the key and licence to the commonwealth of heaven. In today Bible passage, the woman with the issue of blood received immediate healing because of his faith. Jairus' daughter who was dead was raised from the dead. Your own miracle can also happen.

God wants to work with your faith, not the number of years of worship.
Have a relationship with Him, believe in God read and believe in His and be the heater and doer of His word. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. He loves you!

Topic: Unwavering Faith 2
Bible Passage: 1 Samuel 17:41-51

We ascribe all honour to God, our Creator for His loving kindness and deeds of mercy and faithfulness in our lives. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus' name.

Faith is vital and all-compassing in our Christian faith. It is a driving force behind our breakthrough, success, progress and exploits.

Today's life-giver revolves around David's unwavering faith in God against Goliath. He dared to challenge the army of Israel. He defied the army of the Living God. This necessitated the need for somebody to rise to the situation which David did after none of Israel's soldiers could.

One thing you must understand that faith is a spiritual asset meant to be built. David was not a sloth. He was first Jesse's son, a shepherd, and a spiritual singer courageous, determined and a child of God. He was prayerful. He defended and saved his sheep from lion and bear which he killed. He never waxed cold, growing up. His lifetime growing up was a period of preparation for his purpose: to lead Israel. Faith is intentional, not procrastination; it focusing and obeying strictly God's instructions.

To all Israel's soldiers at the battlefield, they saw a giant. But to David, Goliath was no difference from the lion and the bear he killed while shepherding his flock. However, today, some Christians make a Goliath of every little trial, tribulation and challenge they are faced with. Why? They have neither faith in God nor a relationship with Him like David. They fidget on sighting any danger; hence, they live in fear and illusion created by the devil. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind (1 Timothy 1:7). If you have faith as little as a mustard seed, you will do exploits. Today, where is your faith? Modern Christians run after idols, prophets and prayer contractors, looking for signs and wonders hence they fall victims of the devil and his followers.

The problem that drives fear down their spine is nothing before the Lord. It is an insignificant situation made a mountain due to their unbelief and sin. Acquainted with this truth, David took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. He knew the battle is the Lord's for by strength shall no man prevail (1 Samuel 2:9). David cast it all onto the Lord. He granted him victory and he killed Goliath with stones and cut his head.

Many today worship their problems as their God. They lament about them instead of holding onto God's promises for them which cloud their sense of reasoning. Consequently, their faith and prayer altar and lives wax cold and pave way for weariness, complaint and fear. Their Bible, they no longer read let alone make faith affirmations. It is never too late. They should go and make amends. Jesus loves them and for their sake he died on the cross.

Jesus loves you too! He wants to work with your faith, not your problems. Believe in Him!

Ignite your faith and do His will!

Prayer: Father I have no power of my own. I submit my self to your Lordship, strength and uphold my faith in Jesus' name.

Call to Discipleship
Bible Passage: Matthew 4:22-25

Disciples are people who uphold and propagate the teachings, principles, beliefs and even philosophy of their master. They are far different from followers. They follow their leaders for benefits, and immediately the paradigm shifts, they switch allegiance.

Are you a disciple of Christ or His follower? This sure will elicit response as "Yes" in words, never in action from many today. Discipleship requires total submission to the teaching, principles, belief and guidance of one's leader. It starts from being a follower to a disciple as one grows gradually in faith for it is a process of grooming leaders. Therefore, a spiritual leader is not meant to lord it over his followers or disciples but mentor them in love under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Hallmarks of discipleship in Christianity are faith and obedience.

A disciple is not called to be slothful. Jesus in today's Bible passage preached the gospel and healed the sick. You and I are likewise discipled to win souls for Christ and grow in faith and work. We are called to serve. Christianity is all about service to God and us, His children as He is serving us, daily loading us with benefits and His faithfulness new every morning.

Hear the call sound to discipleship! Have you given your life to Christ? Do so now before it is too late and serve Him with your talents, gifts and other advantages! Win souls!

Jesus loves you!

LIFE-GIVER

Bible Passage: Titus 3:8-11

Glory, honour and adoration to the Lord for His mercy. May His name be highly exalted forever in Jesus' name.

We are called to preach the gospel of Christ, live for Him and stand for Him anywhere we are. Believing in Him, we are meant to portray ourselves as His ambassadors, representative of Christian values. It is therefore incumbent on us to embody His perfect love to people. It transcends foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments and quarrels about the law. The law only brings out people's imperfections and makes it difficult to do God's will. The only thing you and I need to break the strangleholds of the law and rise above its attendant imperfections is love. You and I need to love our neighbours as ourselves. This is summary of the entire laws of Moses for overcomes all things. It is this reason the Lord warns us to avoid arguments and quarrels about the law for they are unprofitable and useless. He however urges us to embrace what is profitable and excellent: love which promotes peace and unity, and focus on the Lord's will.

In the same vein, He admonishes us to shun dissension and division among us. You and I are called into the light as messengers of peace. It is our responsibility to warn its culprits against such a division, and if they persist, stay away from them lest you should become condemned as they are. In conclusion, God is love. Wherever it breeds, there is growth evident of God's presence. Let God's love spread wherever you are without deceit. Stand for God's love; stand for Christ -- live for Him.

Jesus loves you!

FAITH BOOSTER

Bible Passages: Joshua 7:19-26; Acts 5:1-10

We give God all the honour and adoration for preserving our lives till now. May His name be highly exalted in Jesus' name.

Our faith booster today draws our attention to imbibing integrity as a virtue, consequences of sin against the Holy Spirit and covetousness.

The first Bible reading focuses on Achan who stole ‭from the plunder of a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels which he coveted and hid in the ground inside his tent. These are things already devoted to the Lord.

You cannot steal from the Lord and go scot-free. It is better you flee from all appearance of evil and sin. It plunges you into a multitude of sins.

Achan coveted the loot from Babylonia hence stole from it and hid it as his which incurred the wrath of God with devastating consequences on entire Israel.

As a result, Joshua tore his clothes, with his face down pleading with the Lord before the Ark of the Lord; so did elders of Israel join him. God told Joshua the cause. Because of it, He told him to consecrate the people of Israel. He gave him instruction to present them and let them come forward tribe by tribe, clan by clan, family by family and man by man. That was how the process went until Achan was caught. The consequences of Achan's sin -- death, was borne by him and his household (Joshua 7:1-26).

Death is the wages of sin but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord (Romans 6:23). Only Jesus can save you and your family from the bo***ge of sin. Give your life to Him as your Lord and Saviour. He loves you.

Today, we have people like Achan who steals from the Lord's house. We have people like him whose sinful lifestyle bring terrible consequences upon their household and the nation. You may say we are in a dispensation of grace and God will forgive you. Yes, He will, but the consequences of your sin can never be written off - you will face it.

Let every leader in the church, family and every other institution leads right. Whether you like it or not, your family will bear the consequences of your actions.

Shun covetousness! Be content with what you have. This is the reason we have financial crimes everywhere today, even in the church. The fear of God has gone aloof from the church and the lives of Christians. We worship money, fame and material possession. This is another bastardy the devil has sold to those who follow him in disguise of worship and obedience to God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The second Bible reading talks about integrity in serving God. It pictures a time when the apostles and believers supported and advanced the gospel with donation. Ananias and Sapphira sold their land, kept some portion of the money realized from the sale but lied to Peter, the servant of God to make their donation from its proceeds.

As a Christian, let your yes be yes and your no be no. Anything less than this doesn't present you as a true believer and a child of God.

Many Christians today have made it a habit to lie blatantly every time, even to men of God. These are vessels of the Lord. The sin against the Holy Spirit has no forgiveness. God is all-seeing and all-knowing. He speaks through His servant. God loves a cheerful giver. If you want to give to the Lord, don't do so out of a preconceived notion like Ananias and Sapphira. Give wholeheartedly (2 Corinthians 9:7). You can fool man but not God (Galatians 6:7). Consequently, the Holy Spirit struck both husband and wife down respectively for lying to Him. Today, you may not experience physical death like Ananias and Sapphira but another one worse than it, a spiritual death. This happens when the Holy Spirit departs from you.

Prayer: May the Lord give you a receptive heart to do His will and reverence Him in every thing you do. May His abiding presence continue to be with you and your household in Jesus' name.
