Breaking: Seraph Youths Cancel Biannual Conference, Cite Security Review and Recommendation as Reason, Set Gaze on Annual Convention 2026.
The International Youth Fellowship of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church has officially announced the cancellation of its 2026 International Bi-Annual Conference and Prophetic Night earlier scheduled to hold on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church, Osogbo District Headquarters, Osogbo, Osun State.
The programme, themed “Divine Alignment” and anchored on John 15:1-7, was expected to gather youth members and stakeholders of the Church from across Nigeria and beyond for spiritual, administrative, and developmental engagements.
In an official statement jointly signed by the International Secretary, Bro. Ifeoluwapo Donatus, and the International President, Bro. Akintola Olusoji, and made available through the Public Relations Officer, Bro Babayemi Samuel, the Fellowship disclosed that the decision to suspend the conference was reached after extensive consultations and careful consideration of the current security situation in the country.
According to the statement, the security assessment and recommendations of the International Seraph Youths Security Director, Bro. Alaro Oluwatosin (GOC), on the increasing cases of insecurity, kidnappings, and threats to safe interstate travel, influenced the leadership’s resolve to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of members above all other considerations.
The Fellowship particularly expressed concern over the long-distance travels expected of participants, especially considering the vigil component of the programme, which could have required some attendees to journey during late hours.
“As a responsible Christian organization, we believe that the preservation of life must remain our highest priority,” the statement noted, quoting the International President as saying, “One safety for all is safety for one.”
Despite the cancellation, the International Youth Fellowship Executive Council (IYFEC) commended the Osun State Chapter Youth Fellowship, the host chapter, for its sacrifices, planning, and commitment toward hosting the event. Appreciation was also extended to State Chapter Chairmen, International Directors of Directorates, Constituent Churches’ International Youth Presidents and Secretaries, and all stakeholders who contributed toward preparations for the conference.
The leadership acknowledged the disappointment the cancellation may cause to members and participants but maintained that the objectives behind the conference remain active and would continue to be pursued through future engagements and appropriate channels.
The statement further encouraged all members of the Fellowship to remain united, prayerful, and supportive during the period while continuing to pray for peace and security across Nigeria.
Attention has now shifted toward the forthcoming International Youth Convention scheduled to hold from August 13 to 16, 2026, at Seraphim Land, KM 40 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Maba, Ogun State.
The Fellowship expressed optimism that the convention would provide another opportunity for spiritual renewal, fellowship, leadership development, and the advancement of the collective vision of the Church’s youth body.
The International Youth Fellowship Executive Council reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, spiritual growth, and youth development within the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church worldwide.
