TOPIC: WHEN THE MEN FLED!

*1 Chronicles 10:7, KJV*
_*And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.*_

Good morning and welcome to the 14th day of the ninth month of this year. May the LORD be gracious to you and bless you.

The battle broke out against the Israelites by the Philistines killing several soldiers of Israel at Mount Gilboa (v.1). As a result, the men of Israel fled away and the Philistines pursued them killing the three sons of king Saul (v.2). The battle pressed harder against Israel until king Saul got wounded by the archers killing himself and even his armour bearer took his own life too (vv 3-6). What then happened?

Today's text tells us that when the Israelites in the valley saw that king Saul and his sons were dead, they too fled away. Why? Because their leader and his possible successors were dead. There was a vacuum in the leadership of Israel at a very rough and tough time. There was no one to dish out instructions for the next line of actions. As a result of the raging battle, the remaining men became sore afraid and fled their own land permitting foreigners (infidels) to take over their cities. Can you imagine that?

Beloved reader, leadership is very vital, crucial and influential. Who is your leader? Or if you're a leader, what sort of leadership are you providing? Again according to today's reading, when king Saul took his own life in the battle, his armour bearer followed suit. Can you see how leadership influenced him to die? We must be praying for our leaders for us to enjoy peaceful, prosperous and progressive moments (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

O LORD give us goodly and godly leaders in all areas of life that will do what pleases You only.

Remain Blessed.

Shalom!

TOPIC: THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH!

1 CHRONICLES 10:13, KJV
_So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar_

A beautiful and blessed morning to you and your loved ones this day in Jesus Christ name. May you be guided in the pathway of righteousness.

After the death of king Saul, the Philistines on the morrow cut off his head and fastened it together with his armour in the temple of Dagon (vv 8-10). Thereafter, the valiant men of Jabeshgilead came to retrieve the body of the late monarch and the bodies of his sons for befitting burial in Gilead (vv 11-12).
However, today's text tells us the reason why king Saul suffered such disgraceful death in the hands of those infidels. Let us check it out!

Dear beloved, it is clearly stated in the text that Saul died because of his transgression. The Hebrew word translated *transgression* simply means treachery, trespass, falsehood, sin, etc King Saul disobeyed the word of the LORD when he was instructed to totally destroy the Amalekites. Not only that, when the LORD rejected him as king and did not talk to him anymore. King Saul disguised himself and consulted witches to enquire of the late prophet Samuel. What a desecration and abomination to the throne of Israel! King Saul did not deem it fit to repent of these evil before the LORD. And as a result died disgracefully in the hands of the infidels despite the anointing upon him.

Let us learn from him and refrain from sinning against the LORD. When we've sinned, let us confess and repent of our sins so that we may obtain mercy and prosper.

May the LORD strengthen you to do His will today and always.

Remain Blessed!

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”-(2 Cor.12:9).

The apostle Paul chose to take glory in his infirmities and moments of pain and weakness because it was in those moments, God was really magnified. After suffering beatings and persecution of an indescribable nature, Paul was still able to get up and minister effectively. He refused to be weighed down by any pain that could have hindered or harmed him. He never operated on his own strength; his own human strength and resolve could never keep him going. Paul's wisdom was great because he knew that he could not boast of any of achievements because it was through Christ that he achieved or attained anything. We are to live the same; knowing that without Christ, we will not be able to face a thing.

PRAYER:
Dear God, I experience many moments of weakness in my daily life. I thank you that I can totally rely on your strength to move forward and do the work you have called me to do. I take glory in my moments of pain and weakness, because you give me the strength and resolve to carry on, the same way you did for the apostle Paul and the rest of the believers who proclaimed the gospel. I choose not to give up because I know you are always with me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Remain Blessed.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”-(Romans 8:28).

This verse tells us that “all things work together for the good of those who love God.” If we love God, then we live in obedience. The “all things” refers to the providence of God and all the things that relate to him: his Holy Spirit, his love and his truths, etc. All of these things come together for our good if we love God and show that we do by our behavior. But it’s not only required that we love God, but that we are called according to His purpose. This refers to the purpose that God has set before us. He calls us to a specific purpose in this life. As long as we are obedient to this purpose, to his call, then all of his resources come together for our good. This is a very encouraging scripture to let us know that, if we follow the will of God, everything will be okay with us. More than okay, actually. They will be “good,” because God is on our side.

PRAYER:
Father, You are always working for my good. All You ask is that I follow the purpose You have set out for my life. How can I go wrong with that? You only want what is best for me. I love You for that. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Remain Blessed.

“Elisha replied to her, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?" "Your servant has nothing there at all," she said, "except a little oil."

Elisha said, "Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few.

Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side."

She left him and afterward shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.

When all the jars were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another one." But he replied, "There is not a jar left." Then the oil stopped flowing.

She went and told the man of God, and he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left." -(2Kings 4:2-7).

GOD IS WITH YOU.

“For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” -(Isaiah 41:13).

God has gone to the ends of the earth to make sure that you will always know that, no matter what, He has got you covered. He will keep you at rest, He will strengthen you, and He will see you through the tough times. In everything you do, every trial that you face, and in every challenge, that comes your way, you should know that you have no reason to fret or worry. God is with you.

PRAYER:

Dear God, I thank you that I can trust in you totally, never becoming anxious when troubling times come my way. Help me to remain at peace, O Lord, fully knowing that all will be well because you are with me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Remain Blessed.

Take Up The Call!

"He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time," - (2 Timothy 1:9).

Sometimes it is impossible for us to understand God’s divine plan. We can only slightly grasp the enormity of time; now consider existence before time existed! We do not deserve God’s grace, but he has chosen to save us. We must take up the call! We must serve him with all that we do. Thanks be to the one and only God!

PRAYER:
My savior Jesus Christ, you came to earth and died for me! I can never come near repaying this debt to you, but with everything that I do I shall do it for you. I long for the day where we will be united with our Holy Father in heaven. I wish to dedicate this day and the rest of my days to serving you, Abba Father. I pray these things in honor of my service. Amen.

Remain Blessed.

GOD IS WORKING THINGS OUT FOR YOUR GOOD.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." -(Romans 8:28).

As children of God, we can take everything that comes our way with confidence because we know that all situations will always work out for our good. We know we love God and we are assured that we have been called according to his purpose, so we know that there will always be a turnaround in every negative situation that comes our way. It is well with our lives, our health, and our wellbeing. There is no plight that can ever overwhelm us because we dwell in Christ.

PRAYER:
Dear God, I simply want to express how grateful I am for this gift of assurance I have because I am in Christ. Whenever trouble comes my way, I do not collapse, because I know that I remain solidly on your foundation. It is well with my soul because of your faithfulness, O God. Thank you, Father, for this precious gift of salvation that has totally changed my life. I am at rest because of your love, O Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Remain Blessed.
