Sometimes, people often say, “Everybody will learn.” But the truth is, not everybody will learn or even realize certain things.
Lately, I discovered that some people are surrounded with opportunities. If one fails, another one fits in. They have investments to fall back on when life gets rough. They have arms that will always embrace them whenever they are lost and feel like returning home not always because they have so much, but because some people have dedicated their lives to securing their well-being.
Some people struggle less because others already used their sweat to prepare a better life for them. And the truth remains: there are families that no matter how hard the economy becomes, they and their children will still live comfortably.
So, because you are struggling does not automatically mean everybody will struggle or suffer. Because life taught you its lessons in a hard way does not mean everybody’s story will follow the same pattern. Stop viewing the entire world strictly from your own lens.
At the same time, while hard work matters, we should also leave room for compassion. Not everybody struggling is lazy, and not everybody comfortable necessarily worked harder than others. Sometimes grace, timing, environment, opportunities, and support systems play major roles too.
But if you are not surrounded with opportunities, create one for yourself through hard work, smart work, diligence, wisdom, and commendable character. If nobody secured a successful future for you, secure one for yourself and for the generations coming after you. If nobody left investments for you, invest in yourself and your children.
Do not envy those with advantages.
Do not despise those with disadvantages.
And do not waste your own opportunities, whether inherited or created.
We were born without clothes, and that was never our fault. But it may become our fault if we fail to clothe ourselves and the generations coming after us.
