SCRIPTURE AWAKENING
Theme: God Sees The Inside
Text: Matthew 23:25-26
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.” — Matthew 23:25-26 NIV
Good morning beloved
It’s easy to look holy. We can come to church early, post scriptures, fast, sing loud, serve in every department.
Religious activities are good. But Jesus wasn’t impressed by the Pharisees’ religious activities. Why? Because He saw their hearts.
Many of us are more concerned with looking like Christians than being like Christ.
We polish the outside; our reputation, our religious routine but inside, there’s envy we haven’t surrendered. Bitterness we’re still nursing. Unforgiveness we justify. Pride we call “confidence.” Malice we dress up as “boundaries.”
Jesus said, “First clean the inside.”
God is not after your performance. He’s after your heart. Because a dirty heart will always pollute clean hands eventually.
Matthew 15:18 says; “The things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.”
Religious activity without inner transformation is just acting. And heaven doesn’t applaud actors.
Search your heart today.
Ask yourself honestly;
What am I hiding behind my religious activity?
Is there envy when others are blessed?
Bitterness from old wounds?
Unforgiveness still linger in my heart?
Has pride become the master of my life?
Am I more worried about people’s applause or God’s approval?
Man looks at the outside, but God looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
What’s one “inside issue” I need to surrender today?
Don’t dress it up. Confess it.
God is watching your heart more than your habits.
Let us Pray 🙏
Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I’ve focused on the outside and neglected my heart. You don’t want my religion without my repentance. Today, I open my heart to You. Search me. Clean me from envy, bitterness, and every hidden sin. Wash the inside of my cup so my life can be truly clean not just religious. Create in me a clean heart, O God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God is Faithful
