Service is not just volunteering on weekends. Service is posture. It’s deciding that your life isn’t just about you. Jesus didn’t come only to be served but to serve, and if the King of glory washed feet, we’ve got no excuse. Real service doesn’t wait for titles, applause, or perfect conditions. It looks for the need and meets it. Wherever you are right now, there’s someone you can make life easier for today.
Service is how influence is built. People don’t follow titles, they follow those who lift them. Every great leader, parent, friend, or believer who left a mark did it through consistent, often unseen service. It keeps you humble, keeps your heart soft, and keeps you useful to God. The world tells you to climb the ladder. The Kingdom tells you to wash the feet of the people on the ladder with you.
Stop waiting for the “big” opportunities. The small things you do when no one is watching are building your legacy. Send that message. Help with that task. Stay late to clean up. Answer the call. Service costs you time, energy, and ego, but it pays back in peace, favor, and purpose. Today, choose one person and serve them without expecting anything back. That’s how you live like Christ.
