MY HONEST CONVERSATION WITH A VAIN THINKER.
ANSWERING THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS BY UNBELIEVERS
I sat patiently at my office table editing some documents on my computer when my secretary interrupts my thoughts flow with a knock at the door.
ME : Come in...
SECRETARY : Sir, someone is here to see you.
ME : Okay let him in. ( The man walked in obviously looking a bit tired as though he had come from a long walk)
ME : Welcome sir, how may I help you.
THE MAN : Am here to secure a property sir.
ME : Okay sir, just give me a few seconds to round off what I'm doing on the system. (The man looked round the office in admiration and sighted one of the= stickers from Our Ministry Programe which has my pix on it.)
THE MAN : Are you a pastor sir?
ME : Yes sir.. ( I replied casually)
THE MAN : (Smiling and greening), But you look too good looking to be a pastor and you don't look like a "spirikoko" (Meaning SU) kind of person, does that mean you don't drink beer, smoke or do the other one? (He said jokingly and burst into a mild laughter).
ME : (Smiling) No I don't and Never will. Are you born again sir.
THE MAN : I do go to church but I can't say am a committed Christian because I won't lie to you, I don't pretend, I drink beer, go to clubs, have side chicks, I just like enjoying myself.
ME : (Smiling) Why do you consider all those stuffs as enjoyments?
THE MAN: Ha! It is now, at least it makes me feel good and happy and I sleep very well, forgetting my problems in this economy.
ME: Eh! Makes you Forget your problems? Is that the lies you have been telling yourself.? (I screamed excitedly)
When the beers wears out of your eyes but you now remember you have a problem of accommodation which eventually brings you here.?
THE MAN: (He suddenly interrupts and asked me THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS BY UNBELIEVERS.)
Okay let me ask you this question sir. WHAT IF WHEN WE ALL DIE AND WE NOW ALL REALIZED THAT THERE IS NOTHING LIKE HEAVEN OR HELL, WON'T YOU REGRET AFTER REFUSING TO ENJOY YOUR SELF ON EARTH JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO MAKE HEAVEN?
ME: (I adjust my sitting position and gave him a full CLASSIC RESPONSE on the question)
Sir, I never believe in Jesus just because I want to make Heaven or make money, heaven to me is icing on the cake for believing, and legal money is a direct result of the value you render.
The real benefit of being born again to me is what I enjoyed on earth in terms of shaping my life to be perfect, the protection I derive, the impact I make, the role model legacy I'm leaving, giving me a stress free and quality life style.
Let me explain to you so you can understand better, for instance as a born again or pastor the tag itself makes it wrong for you to do some certain things (PREVENTION), go to certain gatherings (PROTECTION), indulge in some life wrecking habits like consuming alcohol, beer, smoke, fornicate, Clubbing etc even though some still do even as a Pastor but those are people who are not logical and spiritually inclined in their thinking.
Now, let's xray just these 4 wrong attributes which you termed as enjoyments here on earth out of the many other wrong attributes so you can see why being born again is majorly to your benefits on earth leaving out the goal of making heaven.
1. ALCOHOL AND BEER CONSUMPTION:
This is a very harmful habits for both genders that causes numerous harms to the human body. It has been established that alcohol consumption affects the liver, kidney, skin, increases cancer risk in some parts of the body, affects the parts of the brain that aids logical reasoning thereby making you take illogical decisions and wrong judgment.
Imagine making illogical and irational decisions in matters regarding your family, finances, businesses, relationships, Children upbringing, (You can see this in youths, guys Plaiting hair, piecing ears, parents Plaiting hair for their male children, indecently dressing them up, putting them in line of fraud etc check out the parents of such children and see the bad effect of alcohol and smoking making them make wrong judgment and illogical reasoning).
If you don't consume alcohol your children have higher tendency to be smart and intelligent and they also have higher tendency to be a dullard if you do.
Apart from money meant to be saved being wasted on buying these beers for yourselves and friends, alcohol consumption attracts wrong peers to you who could influence you negatively and makes your life more challenging through wrong advices coming from such associations, even pushing you to fornication.
It's utterly nonsensical to keep spending your hard earned money on something that keeps poisoning your body and when the consequence comes it ends your life or the treatment put you in a hard financial dilemma. THAT'S NOT ENJOYMENT, THAT'S FOOLISHNESS.
2. SMOKING:
When people see me and say what's your secret of being so smart, intelligent and looking younger, I say it's because I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't worry, I'm a reader and I am always content with what I have. And that is the fact.
Smoking and alcohol consumption make you look far older than your age because it makes your skin shrinks and unhealthy. Smoking causes lung cancer and it affects your teeth and gums amidst other life threatening risks.
3. CLUBBING: The question I always ask these set of individuals is that of what importance is it to you to go over to a place and compete with other people on who could waste the most amount of money on alcohol and also watch a lady naked? How could such person be a responsible father or mother? It means you do not value your family and children because a lot of things can go wrong in such gatherings.
4. FORNICATING. For someone who has a dream and vision, you will realize that this is nothing but a total waste of money and time. This only makes you lose focus and any mistake may make you lose your marriage or start a double life outside of your marriage for men. It's a distraction and waste of money.
So, ask yourselves this important question if being born again and following Jesus means avoiding all these habits is it not the wisest choice you can make? It's not only about making heaven but making your life smooth, stress free and impactful in this world. Your reward is not only in heaven but also here on earth.
The mistake a lot of people make is that they think they are doing God or any Pastor a favour by being born again, God has already done you a favour by sending Jesus for your redemption, believing in him and following God's word is all to your BENEFITS.
SAY YES TO JESUS TODAY AND EXPERIENCE A LIFE OF ABSOLUTE BLISS.
