TOPIC: CHRIST FOR ALL SEASONS

Isaiah was best known as the Hebrew prophet who predicted the coming of Jesus Christ to save mankind from sin. Isaiah lived about 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. His prophecy was written in present continuous tense: “unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given...” Christ was content to be born in a manger on earth, so mankind, by receiving forgiveness of sins through Him, might inherit mansions in heaven.

Christmas has been heavily commercialised. According to available records, Americans used about 28,497,464 rolls and sheets of wrapping paper, 16,826,362 packages of tags and bows, 372,430,684 greeting cards, and 35,200,000 Christmas trees during the 1989 Christmas season.

Ironically, sin is on the increase during Christmas as people drink, party & dance in ecstasy.

Some go to church only at Christmas once in a year or at Easter period.
Let Jesus be Christ for seasons, not only Christmas
The worship & remembrance of Christ should be for all seasons.
His salvation was not a temporal panacea for sin, neither was his gospel intended to be preached only as a Christmas sermon. Christ should be preached as mankind’s Saviour, all-year round.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every day is significant in God’s salvation plan.

FIRE SCRIPTURE:
TOPIC: PERILOUS TIMES PART 1
Terrible times are here with various calamities but what is the church doing?
The Love of many has waxed cold in the church & as a result
A) Churches is no longer spirit-filled.
B). THE CHURCH NO LONGER TRANSFORMS. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
C). CHURCH DOESN'T DICTATE MORALS ANYMORE- LAXED.
I had one prominent man of God practically vomiting rubbish that ma********on is not a sin.
D). CHURCH DOESN'T HOLD FORTH THE LIGHT AGAIN. Imagine someone sleeping with my neighbours wife & I am fully aware but I just keep quiet. Where is my light as a child of God. My salt has no Value.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
E). EMPTY PRAYER CLOSETS
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Empty prayer closets lead to empty lives.
Hag 1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
F). EMPTY SERVICES too many distractions.
G). EMPTY PEWS. Not concerned about the salvation of others.
H) READING OF GOD’S WORD NEGLECTED.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Hide the word in your hearts. Psa 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
I). INTEREST HAS FALLEN AWAY.
A. In God- just a passing interest. People today have to see to believe. Animate versus inanimate.
HOW WE WILL SURVIVE LIVING"IN THE LAST DAYS"?
a) By avoiding those who reject the truth and lead astray by appealing to our fleshly desires
b). By carefully following the doctrine and manner of life of men like the apostle Paul. It may mean persecution, but the Lord will deliver His faithful disciples!
C) Pray & watch, be sober and vigilant.
Can you imagine wall gecko killing people like snakes.Tell somebody watch out.

PRAYER
Father please give me the grace to be a plus Christian and not a minus Christian in the name of Jesus.

17/8/22 INSPIRATIONAL VERSE 2KINGS 13:14-19
14. Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
15. And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
16. And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.

THEME: ONE MORE HIT

In today's reading, prophet Elisha instructed the king to shoot his arrows into the open air before making a prophetic declaration. Thereafter, he asked the king to hit the arrows against the floor and he did but stopped at the third strike. This sealed his fate as he did not get total victory over the enemy because he only hit thrice.

This is the case with some young people who give up on their dreams or ambitions when faced with challenges or obstacles. They allow the spirit of doubt or public opinion to rob them of their God given vision.
Giving up on your dreams is dangerous because the more you try, the closer you are to achieving your dreams. Be more determined to reach your goals. Let nothing deter you from pursuing your dreams. If you failed before you can still succeed, as long as you try again.
Remember winners don't quit no matter what, they persist, they endure, the persevere.

ACTION POINT
Pray more, study more, work harder and persevere until you hit the mark.

PRAYER. Lord Jesus, I refuse to give up please help me. Thank you Jesus, in Jesus name amen.

INTRODUCTION
Paradise is a place of blessing where the righteous go after death. The word paradise, is usually used as a synonym for "heaven" (Revelation 2:7). Paradise is a place of rest for believers in Christ. It is a place where believers are United with Christ and His Father (Luke 23:43). Jesus used "paradise" as a synonym for 'heaven'. The Apostle Paul wrote of someone (probably himself) who "was caught up to Paradise" (2Corinthians 12:4). In this context, paradise obviously refers to Heaven.

THE NATURE OF PARADISE

Paradise is the Father's house (John 14:2). Jesus told the thief that he would be with him in Paradise that very day (Luke 23:43). Paradise is a place that is wonderful beyond description (2Corinthians 12:4). Paradise of God is also said to be a high and holy place (Isaiah 57:15) where there is no sin (Psalm 15:1-2; Revelation 21:27). The paradise of God has the tree of Life for the health Nations (Revelation 22:2). It is a peaceful place (Isaiah 65:25). It is also a place that those who have faith in the Lord will enter immediately upon death (Act 7:55-56). Paradise is a place of bliss and happiness (Psalm 16:11). There is no need to worry about what happens after death if you are born again and living in holiness because whoever believes in Jesus Christ and endures to the end will be saved (Acts 4:12; Matthew 10:22). The inhabitants of the paradise of God are holy (Revelation 21:27)

THE BENEFITS OF BEING IN PARADISE

The Paradise of God has the tree of Life with its 12 kinds of fruits, yielding it's fruit each month. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the Nations (Revelations 22:2,14; (Ezekiel 47:12). No longer will there be any accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants we worship Him (Revelation 22:3). Saints we see the face of the Lord and His name will be on their foreheads (Revelation 22:4; 1Corinthians 13:12; 1John 3:2). Night will be no more. There will be no need for light or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever (Revelation 22:5). There will be no more sin or the sorrow that sin brings. The greatest of this sorrow is death which has been conquered by Jesus Christ's victory at Calvary (Isaiah 25:8; 1Corinthians 15:54).

To have access to God's paradise, repentance, confession of sin, and putting your trust in Christ is very essential. A fearful expectation awaits those who are not on God's side (Revelation 20:11-15).

CONCLUSION
One thing is sure, if you miss heaven (paradise), you cannot miss hell. Be prepared

THEME: IS BETTING A SIN?

In James 1:13-14 the Bible said Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Many people have tried convincing the world that truth is relative. What is good to one fellow, may be bad to another. However, the truth cannot be ignored. The rate at which online and offline betting sites are springing up lately shows that the world is moving towards the end. People have become lovers of money and are seeking fast means of getting it.
No one can tell me that God is involved in betting because it is a scheme designed to cheat many and make a few fellows cash out. This purely negates the word of God in 3 John1:2 which says: I wish above all things that you prosper. Those who establish betting sites do not wish all their players to prosper. Besides, when you bet, you have little or no control over the result. For instance, if a match will be played between Manchester United and Liverpool, you can have three options; your team wins, the other loses or they both draw. In spite of having these options, you cannot control the outcome and this is what usually leads people into addiction with the hope that someday they will win. This is a very bad addiction. Allow the Spirit of God to guide you on your journey to financial empowerment. I'm sure He will not guide you to betting.

ACTION POINT
Stop any form of betting if you're into it already.
