COMPH JUNE NOVENA – DAY ONE The Teaching on Iconography
An icon is a sacred Christian image that communicates the message of the Gospel through signs and symbols. More than artistic representations, icons lead our hearts and minds toward God and the realities of heaven. For centuries, they have inspired faith, deepened prayer, and reminded believers of God's loving presence.
According to Church tradition, Saint Luke the Evangelist was the first iconographer, and sacred icons have been part of Christian worship since the early Church. Although icons faced opposition in history, the Church affirmed their importance as aids to prayer and devotion.
Just as we treasure photographs of our loved ones because of what they represent, sacred icons remind us of God's love and the communion of saints. The Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help is one such precious gift that invites us to draw closer to Christ through the loving intercession of Mary.
Prayer:
Through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, may we appreciate the gift of sacred icons and grow closer to God. May every path to our blessings be opened and revealed to us. Amen.

On this first day of the Novena, the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help directs our hearts to Jesus, our Redeemer and model of true service. Through Mary's loving guidance, we are reminded that genuine leadership is expressed through humility, love, obedience to God, and selfless service to others. May we follow Christ's example by serving with compassion and always seeking God's glory above our own.

Under the title Our Mother of Perpetual Help, countless hearts have found comfort, peace, strength, and hope. Whenever we seek her intercession, God never fails to hear our prayers and wipe away our tears.
May this June Novena bring perpetual help to your home, family, health, business, relationships, and spiritual life.
