MEMORISE: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6

BIBLE READING: EXODUS 33:7-11 (KJV)
7 And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.
9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

MESSAGE:
Yesterday, I stated that serving God wholeheartedly and honouring those whom He has placed over you is a channel through which you can carry His fire. Today, I will discuss another thing that can make you a carrier of God's fire - your level of hunger and thirst for Him.

In today's Bible reading, God spoke face to face with Moses in a pillar of cloud in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and Joshua was with him. After Moses' conversation with God, he departed from the tabernacle, but Joshua stayed behind because he was so hungry for God's presence. While others were enjoying the comfort of their tents, Joshua remained before the Consuming Fire, and I am sure that he was communing with Him and seeking His face. In Numbers 27:18, God attested to the fact that he was a man "...in whom is the spirit..." and instructed Moses to lay hands on him.

Elisha was another person whose hunger attracted God's fire. The moment Elijah put his mantle on him, he left everything and followed the man of God (1 Kings 19:19-21). When it was time for Elijah to be taken away from him into heaven, he told him to ask for anything he wanted. At that time, Elisha had become so hungry to see greater manifestations of God's glory that he wanted to do greater works than his master. He didn't care about material things; his only hunger was for God. When Elijah heard his servant's request, he replied, "You have asked a hard thing, but if you see me while I am being taken away, it will be as you have asked" (2 Kings 2:9-10). Being on a long journey would have made many other people tired and sleepy, but Elisha was not. His hunger kept him awake and aware of everything that was happening around him. His heart was fixed on what he wanted, and this was what made him see the chariot of fire as it appeared, and Elijah being taken up into heaven by a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11-12).

Beloved, no matter who lays hands on you, the fire of God will not come upon you if you are not hungry and thirsty for God's presence and glory. Even though a piece of wood has the potential to catch fire, it will not catch fire if it is not dry. Only those who are hungry and thirsty for God's presence and glory will receive His fire to do exploits in their generation.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please fill my heart, soul, and spirit with great hunger and thirst for Your presence and power.

TOPIC – Sin Is A Reproach (1)

MEMORISE: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. – Romans 6:23 (KJV)

BIBLE READING: John 5:1-15 (KJV)

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 30-32

MESSAGE
In today’s Bible reading, Jesus healed a man who had been sick for 38 years. Shortly after that, He found him in the temple and warned him to stay away from sin or a worse illness would afflict him. Jesus’ warning shows us that a fellow’s sin can attract reproach and bring the fellow under the influence of the forces of darkness. If a person sins and does not repent, today’s memory verse tells us that such a fellow will be paid for committing that sin, and that payment is death.

In Mark 2:1-12, the Bible tells us about a paralysed man who was brought to Jesus. It took four men to carry him on his sick bed to the house Jesus was preaching in, and because the house was so full that there was no space to pass through at the entrance, the men who carried him had to break through the roof to lower him into the house. When Jesus saw him, He knew the man needed a miracle, and the first thing He said was, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” In other words, Jesus was saying, “Unless we get your sins out of the way, you won’t get the miracle you need.”

Sin always hinders people from receiving their miracles, and there is always a need to take the sins that have blocked their access to God’s blessings away so that the path to their miracles can be opened. The paralysed man’s sins landed him in a mess, but when he came in contact with light, it destroyed the mess. When a person comes in contact with light, it destroys every form of darkness in his or her life. If there is any reproach in your life that was caused by your sin, as you ask God for forgiveness today and promise not to return to it, I decree that the Lord will send His light into your life to take away the reproach, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, sin is always a reproach; it brings shame and death. Righteousness, however, attracts God’s upliftment (Proverbs 14:34). To receive God’s promotion, you must confess and repent of any sins that might exist in your life. Jesus is willing to give you a brand-new start when you turn to Him. Don’t let your sins keep you from enjoying God’s help; confess them and repent of them today, and your heavenly Father will remove everything that represents a reproach in your life (1 John 1:9).

KEY POINT
Sin can stop God’s light from shining upon you and His blessings from flowing into your life.

HYMN 31 – Yield Not To Temptation
1 Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin;
Each vict’ry will help you some other to win;
Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

Refrain:
Ask the Savior to help you,
Comfort, strengthen, and keep you;
He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.

2 Shun evil companions, bad language disdain,
God’s name hold in rev’rence, nor take it in vain;
Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

3 To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown,
Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down;
He who is our Savior, our strength will renew;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

TOPIC: DEALING WITH DEMONIC VEXATION

PASTOR: E.A ADEBOYE

MEMORISE: Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies. Nehemiah 9:27

BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 17:14-18 (KJV)
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

MESSAGE:
When the devil decides to torture his victims through vexation, he attacks them intermittently with problems that hurt and embarrass them. To achieve this, the devil assigns a demon intermittently with problems that hurt and or demons to operate in the victim's life at regular intervals. In today's Bible reading, Jesus was coming down from the Mount of Transfiguration when a father brought his son to him. The father narrated how a demon came at intervals to cause his son to throw himself into the fire and into the water. The demon wasn't always troubling the boy, but it would come from time to time to push him to harm himself. Some people are perfectly okay in one minute, and in the next minute, they suddenly find themselves in trouble. For example, people with epilepsy are attacked at intervals, and the seizures sometimes come when they are in public places, thus causing them a great deal of embarrassment.
In the 70s, there was a lady in The Redeemed Christian Church of God who had a child who was suffering from the vexation of the enemy. The child had regular seizures, and whenever she rented a new apartment, her son would have one of such attacks. In those days, people believed that such attacks were contagious, and as such, the landlords of the apartments she rented would chase her out of their houses after such incidents. This sister had been moving from one house to the other until one day when, right in the centre of the town she lived in, the child had an attack. What she had been trying to hide became a public thing, and everyone around her at that moment fled. When this happened, she grabbed the child, looked up to the Almighty God and prayed. She said, "Father, my secret is out, and I have no help. Please, arise on my behalf." That was the last day the child had an epileptic attack.
The Lord will always arise for those who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18 says, "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth." Beloved, have you been experiencing the vexation of the enemy? Has he been coming into your life at intervals to steal, kill, and destroy? Surrender your life to Jesus if you have not done so. Promise Him that you will live according to His will from now on, and call upon Him to deliver you. He will surely rise in your defence.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please put an end to every plan of the enemy to vex me or anyone in my family, in Jesus' name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
LEVITICUS 16-18

HYMN 1: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS' NAME
1 All hail the power of Jesus' name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!

2 O seed of Israel's chosen race
now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!

3 Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!

4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We'll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We'll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.

TOPIC: FREEDOM OF WORSHIP II

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE

MEMORISE: "The LORD will be terrible unto them: for, he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen." Zephaniah 2:11

BIBLE READING: Psalms 96:8-13l
8 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

MESSAGE:
A lot of people want to worship the only true God, but they are limited by many factors. For example, Pharaoh prevented the children of Israel from leaving Egypt to worship God until a divine intervention compelled him to let them go. After God's intervention, he could not even wait until morning before releasing the children of Israel to go and worship God. That very night, he called for Moses and Aaron and said, "Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said," (Exodus 12:29-31). However, after making this pronouncement and releasing the Israelites, the Egyptians still went after them with the intention of bringing them back into bo***ge, but God silenced them in the Red Sea, and the Israelites were finally free to worship God (Exodus 14 and 15).
You probably want to worship God, but something is hindering you. You want to praise God and tell people about how great He is, but then, occasionally, you remember one little problem in your life that has lingered for a long time. That problem might be so bad that people around you have even been asking you where your God is. You look at that problem, and suddenly, it becomes a struggle to praise God. I decree that the Almighty God will intervene in your situation and silence whatever might be hindering you from worshipping Him the way you really want to, in Jesus' name.
Many people want to do mighty things like building churches for God, helping the poor, sponsoring crusades, and so on. However, the only hindrance they have is a lack of finance. If you are one of such people, I pray for you today that you will receive the abundance you need in order to do anything you want to do for God, in Jesus' name.
Revelation 4:11 says, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." God created all things for His pleasure. He created your hands to clap to Him in worship, He created your mouth to praise Him, and He created your legs to dance for Him. Therefore, anyone, whether in the government, in your family, or anywhere at all, who tries to hinder you from worshipping God and giving Him pleasure will face His wrath like Pharaoh did if he or she does not repent.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please usher me into a new season of good health, prosperity, and complete freedom so that I can serve you without hindrance.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Genesis 32-35

HYMN 10: IN CHRIST ALONE
1 In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here, in the love of Christ, I stand

2 In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save
'Til on that cross, as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin, on him, was laid
Here, in the death of Christ, I live.

3 There in the ground, his body lay
Light of the world, by darkness, slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave, he rose again
And as he stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am his and he is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

4 No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His Hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here, in the power of Christ, I stand.
