TOPIC: ATTAINING GOOD SUCCESS II

MEMORISE:
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. - (Joshua 1:8)

BIBLE READING: JOSHUA 1:1-9 (KJV)

1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

5:There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

MESSAGE:
When Zerubbabel wanted to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, Zechariah told him that it wouldn't be by power or might but by the Spirit of the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). It is possible to succeed and achieve results that could never have been produced by your efforts - I am a living proof of that reality. As I write this, the RCCG is in over 190 countries across the world, and I have yet to visit some of them. This is a good example of results beyond efforts. God can give you victories that have nothing to do with how powerful, wise, strong, or influential you are they will only be by His unfailing mercies and love.

In Psalm 37:5, David advises you to commit your way to the Lord and trust in Him to bring your plans to pass. This is important because if you don't surrender all to the Lord and He gives you success, you might likely forget Him and begin to feel as if you have become successful because of your abilities. Some people become successful and lose their sleep and peace because they have not surrendered to the Lord. When I became the General Overseer of the RCCG, we had only 39 branches in Nigeria. Now, the church has thousands of branches across the world, and my blood pressure remains normal because I know that God is behind it all. Every night, I go to bed without worrying about anything. I am at peace because I have committed and surrendered everything to God.

God wants all His children to enjoy good success. In today's memory verse, He showed Joshua an important key to attaining such success: meditating on His word. To meditate is to think deeply about something. God told Joshua to keep the book of the law in his heart and on his lips at all times because He knows that whatever is in his heart and on his lips will eventually become his reality. God knows that if He can get you to believe that He wants you to be successful, and you profess this in faith, nothing will stop you from succeeding. If you are reading this and have experienced many struggles and failures, I decree that things will change for the better from today, in Jesus' name.

Beloved, meditate on the word of God day and night and confess the things He has said concerning you; that is the key to experiencing and enjoying good success.

ACTION POINT:
Set time apart daily to meditate on God's promises concerning your success.

TOPIC: THE UNLIMITED GOD I

MEMORISE:
"Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?" Isaiah 43:13

BIBLE READING: PSALMS 2:1-12

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

MESSAGE:
"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me Jeremiah 32:27.

God likes to ask questions, and we see several instances of this in the Bible. When He asks a question, however, it isn't because He doesn't know the answer, but because He wants to reveal something about Himself. God asked the question in the Scripture above because He wanted to let you know that He is unlimited.
The word 'unlimited' is a combination of two words: 'un' and 'limited’. 'Un' is a prefix of Latin and Greek origin that simply means 'not', while to be limited is to be restricted. Therefore, when we say that God is unlimited, it means that He is sovereign and has absolutely no restrictions.

The devil limits people by placing an embargo on their lives that says, "Thus far can you go and no further." For instance, if someone is lame, he or she might be able to crawl but cannot stand, walk, or run; hence, the fellow's movement is limited. God is not limited and cannot be hindered; He cannot be stopped from doing what He wants. Our God, the I AM THAT IAM, cannot be limited by anyone or anything.

When God wants to work, no one can hinder Him; when He wants to create something, He can use what seems like nothing to produce a masterpiece. When He saw how chaotic and dark the earth was in the beginning, He didn't wring His hands in frustration and despair. Instead, He said, "Let there be Light!" (Genesis 1:3). As thick as the darkness was, it fled at the sound of God's voice. Whenever opposing forces gather, He who sits in the heavens laughs because His unlimited power can be displayed without question (Psalm 2:1-4).

In today's Bible reading, we see how the nations and heathen kings gathered to oppose God, but in the end, they failed. When the enemy stacks one opposition after another against you, that is time to laugh because you have a Father who is truly unlimited. If you call on His name and put your total trust in Him, He will work His wonders in your life, regardless of the nature of the opposition or the number of enemies you might be facing.

Beloved, you have no reason to be intimidated by the devil's threats and obstacles that seem insurmountable; call on the One who is truly invincible, and you will overcome everything that stands in your way.

PRAYER POINT:
Unlimited God, please help me to fight my battles and grant me victory on all sides, in Jesus' name.

HYMN 16: TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS

1 'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at His Word
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord"

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
'Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

3 Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease,
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

4 I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Saviour, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

TOPIC: IRREVERSIBLE BLESSINGS

MEMORISE
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. - (Hebrews 6:13-14)

READ: 2 Samuel 7:1-16 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.

4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the Lord came unto Nathan, saying,

5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the Lord, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

MESSAGE

In today's Bible reading, God told David, "Even if your son offends me after you have died, I will only discipline him; I will not take My mercy away from him. I will establish your throne forever, no matter what happens." This was why Jesus, the King of kings, introduced Himself as the root and the offspring of David in Revelation 22:16. That is a very good example of an irreversible blessing. When you read today's Bible reading closely, you will notice that God's pronouncement came just after David decided to build Him a house. This was something no one had ever done for Him before then.

In Genesis 22:1-8, God gave Abraham a little test by asking him to sacrifice his son. When Abraham passed the test, God swore by Himself to bless him.
..By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. - (Genesis 22:16-18)

God did not need to swear because once He speaks, it is done. However, He swore to show that the blessing He was pronouncing over Abraham could never be reversed. This tells us that in order to get an irreversible blessing from God, you have to do something that will touch His heart. God can bless you irreversibly when you do something that impresses Him.

Another person who can pronounce an irreversible blessing on you is your father. In Genesis 27:30-33, the Bible says that not long after Isaac blessed Jacob, Esau returned from hunting. When their father discovered that he had blessed the wrong fellow, he told Esau that Jacob had been blessed and that the blessing could not be reversed. When you read the passage closely, you will also notice that Jacob got this irreversible blessing just after he had made a special meal that pleased his father. If you can do something that pleases your father such that he blesses you from his heart, the blessing will be irreversible. I pray that God will give you irreversible blessings, in Jesus' name.

ACTION POINT
Do something really special for your father or a father figure in your life today, and ask him to bless you.

HYMN 26 - THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING

1 There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

REFRAIN
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. [Refrain]

3 There shall be showers of blessing:
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come and now honor Thy Word. [Refrain]

4 There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call! [Refrain]

TOPIC: WHAT IS MAN? VI

MEMORISE:
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:23

BIBLE READING: GENESIS 2:7, 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-15

GENESIS 2:7

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-15

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

MESSAGE:
As I conclude this series today, I want you to know that God made man with the authority to operate in the physical, soulish, and spirit realms. God made us this way so that while we are still living on earth, we can also have a connection with Him in heaven.

God gave man a body so he can live in the physical world and a soul so he can think, feel, and choose (Genesis 2:7). Then, in Job 32:8, the Bible says, "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding." In other words, we can connect with God through our spirit to receive inspiration from Him. This combination makes us special and differentiates us from animals, plants, and even angels.

In the physical realm, our bodies interact with the world through our physical senses: sight, touch, taste, hearing, and smell. Beyond that, we have a soul; we have a will and emotions that allow us to think deeply, make decisions, and establish relationships. For example, you can look at people and discern their true intentions even when they try to conceal them. The most important part of man, however, is his spirit. Our spirit allows us to connect with God. It is through our spirits that we hear from Him, understand spiritual truths, and receive Him into our hearts. Romans 8:6 says, "For to be carnally minded is death.." In other words, if people operate in the physical and soulish realms but their spirits are not connected to God, they are as good as dead because they are not operating in their full capacity as human beings.

Beloved, paying attention to the physical realm only will cause you to pursue temporary and intangible things. In Ecclesiastes 2:11, Solomon said, Then l looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun."

Focusing only on your emotions will cause you to be misled because your feelings cannot be trusted. If you make a decision based on how you feel when you are sad, for instance, before long, you might realize that you have made a terrible decision. The only way you can function in your full capacity and walk in God's perfect will for your life is when your spirit is connected to the Lord.

REFLECTION:
Are you connected to God and submitted to Him, or are you being controlled by your emotions and physical desires?

1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.

2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.

3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee
