God Did Not Send Me to Street Boys" - David Abioye Says, Urges Pastors to Know Their Calling

Bishop David Abioye of the Conquerors Global Assembly has urged pastors to clearly identify and embrace their unique calling, warning that failure to do so robs the world of the specific impact they are meant to make.
Speaking at the Global Young Ministers Conference, Abioye said God gives each minister a distinct assignment, and no one is called to reach everyone. “He didn’t call you with emptiness. He put something inside you that even I don’t have,” he told participants.
He noted that some pastors are specially graced to minister to street boys—understanding their language, lifestyle, and struggles—while others have different mandates. “I’m not sent by God to them. Basically, I meet them, but there are pastors whose ministry is specially for street boys. God gave them the grace to bend tough people,” he said.
Using construction metaphors, Abioye described various ministry roles: “Iron-bending pastors” who deal firmly with difficult people, “painter pastors” who restore beauty to broken destinies, “bricklayer pastors” who patiently disciple believers, and “plaster pastors” who smooth and refine people’s lives.
He urged ministers to stop comparing themselves with others and instead focus on the specific vacuum they were called to fill. “You are only excellent in your field, not all-round excellent,” he said, emphasising that specialisation is God’s design for the church.
Quoting Romans 11:13, Abioye said, “I magnify my office.” He encouraged pastors to promote their God-given identity and celebrate the variety of gifts within the body of Christ.
Abioye concluded by challenging ministers to “wake up” to their divine deposit and serve with excellence in their unique area, thereby contributing fully to the expansion of the kingdom
