WE ARE STARTING A SERIES ON: “Help Me Grow Well”
Topic : Help Me Grow in Every Way
Main Text: Luke 2:52
Good morning, everyone,
Today, I want to talk about something very important.
Which is: “Help Me Grow in Every Way.”
The Bible says in Luke 2:52 that Jesus grew in wisdom, in stature, and in favour with God and man.
This means Jesus did not grow in only one way. He grew in every way.
He grew:
* In wisdom (that is learning and school)
* In favour with God (that is spiritual life)
* In favour with people (that is social life)
So children are not supposed to grow in only one area. We should grow in all areas.
1) Spiritual growth.
Parents should help their children to know God.
Pray with your child. Teach them the Bible. Bring them to church.
Because when they know God, they will know what is right.
The Bible says in Proverbs 9:10 that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
2) Academic growth.
Parents should help their children learn.
Ask them about school. Encourage them to study.
Because learning will help our future.
The Bible says in Proverbs 4:7 that wisdom is the principal thing.
3) Social growth
Parents, help your children have good friends and good experiences.
Let them learn how to:
* Talk to people
* Share
* Play and relate well
The Bible says in Proverbs 13:20 that he who walks with the wise will be wise.
That means the people around us matter.
Let me say it simply:
If I only go to school and don’t know God, I am not complete.
If I only pray and don’t learn, I am not balanced.
If I don’t learn how to relate with people, life will be difficult.
So we need help to grow in every way.
Parents, please don’t focus on only one area. Help us grow completely in all areas.
conclusion:
Help us grow like Jesus, spiritually, academically, and socially.
Prayer:
Dear God, help all parents to raise their children the right way. Help us grow in wisdom, in favour with You, and with people. In Jesus name, Amen.
