BE STILL MY SOUL….

“Be still and know that I am God” is much harder than it sounds.

When we want an answer or some direction or clarity in life, the idea of stilling ourselves and waiting on God can be infuriating.

It’s not in most of our natures to quiet, to stop and listen, and to meditate on who God is, when there is chaos whirling around us.

We want to fix, we want to control, we want to make the pain go away as fast as possible.

Yet God often points us back to this same thing.

“Be still and know I’m God.”

But it’s not just being still, it’s the “knowing” that I think is key.

We need to be still so we can know. So we can remember. So we can really look at God and be reminded of who He is, and who He has always been.

It’s about going beyond our circumstances to what is eternal and finding peace in the one who holds all of it.

It’s in this process that our focus, our perspective, and our hearts change.

This process is essential, even when it’s the last thing we want to do because God knows it’s what we need.

So when He says, “Be still and know that I am God”, it’s not because He wants us stuck where we are.

It’s because He knows dwelling with Him and knowing Him deeper, is going to be what actually gets you out.

Dont be afraid to be still and know.

He’ll be right there in it.

THE STORY OF AMAZING LOVE —

Need a feel-good story this Christmas?
Nothing is better than The Good News!

Here it is:

God, the maker of heaven and earth, created YOU for a love relationship with Himself. How wonderful is that?
Love was His motive and His action.
But He didn’t stop by initiating the Love story… even when Adam and Eve chose to go their own way and disobey, making a right relationship with a Holy God impossible, God made it possible!

This is The Good News we call the Gospel. God’s amazing love story didn’t end when sin entered the world… in fact, that was just the beginning of His loving pursuit to bring humanity into a right relationship with Himself yet again.

How did He do that? Well, it wasn’t through convincing us to try harder and do better and regain our right standing with Him. No matter how hard we try we will never be able to hit the mark of perfect love. Nope. Never.

So the Father sent His only Son to live the righteous life we could never live. He lived the life we should have lived and then died the death we should have died…. He took the fall for The Fall. He took the fall for ME!

This is The Good News and The Amazing Story we sing about in the classic Christmas Hymn, Noel

A life set aside for God....

This week the hand of the lord locate you, take you to the realm of glory, decorate and beautify your life, establish you on the throne of wonders, trouble those who trouble you and the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ continue to be with everyone in Jesus mighty name amen. Good morning have a glorious week and stay safe.

My dad has bees. Today I went to his house and he showed me all of the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off of a 5-gallon bucket full of honey and on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey and drowning. I asked him if we could help them and he said he was sure they wouldn't survive. Casualties of honey collection I suppose.

I asked him again if we could at least get them out and kill them quickly, after all, he was the one who taught me to put a suffering animal (or bug) out of its misery. He finally conceded and scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty Chobani yogurt container and put the plastic container outside.

Because he had disrupted the hive with the earlier honey collection, bees were flying all over outside.

We put the 3 little bees in the container on a bench and left them to their fate. My dad called me out a little while later to show me what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all of their sisters (all of the bees are females) and they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. We came back a short time later and there was only one little bee left in the container. She was still being tended to by her sisters.

When it was time for me to leave we checked one last time and all three of the bees had been cleaned off enough to fly away and the container was empty.
Those three little bees lived because they were surrounded by family and friends who would not give up on them, family and friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness and resolved to help until the last little bee could be set free.

Bee Sisters. Bee Peers. Bee Teammates.

We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.
