**SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT REALITY*
2 Cor. 10:12 “For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
Don’t be moved by what you see somebody showing off on social media. People show off dresses, houses, cars, destinations, and
all sorts of things just to create an impression - a false impression that only the discerning can decipher.
Don’t compare yourself with others, rather compare yourself to your purpose and the calling of God on your life. How well are you doing with regards to pursuing the assignment God has for you? This should be our major concern.
One thing the pandemic has taught us is that at some point all these acquisitions have their obvious limitations.
Social media is not bad but it is not as real as it appears, so don’t premise your life on it. Don’t lose sleep because of a bag or a pair of shoes somebody was wearing on an Instagram post. Don’t fret because some guy is driving a lemon colored G- Wagon or a Purple colored Rolls Royce.
Don’t let the Gucci bags and Versace house fool you. People do these things just to achieve a feeling. Simply, it gives them a sense of fulfillment. You can get those same feelings of fulfillment by being content with what you have. Strive for more if you can but don’t let your decisions be based on what you saw someone doing on social media because most of it **NA WASH*”
Check this out:
- People (ladies) show off engagement rings that they bought by themselves then somebody else’s day is ruined because of that
- Guys pose in front of someone else’s car or house and claim it’s theirs
- Fraudsters drive flashy cars and post pictures on social media and you begin to despise your legitimate means of income
- You see people write all sorts of lovely things about a spouse they treat like dirt at home and you begin to
