SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON

05-04-26

Theme of the Month: Abraham's Blessings

Topic: The Blessing of God

Opening Text: Genesis 1:22-28.

What is a Blessing?

A blessing is:

(i) A declaration of goodwill spoken over a person, plus the conditions required for it to come to pass.

(ii) An empowerment to succeed - a divine ability that makes a person fruitful, productive, and prosperous.

So when God blesses, He is not just "wishing you well"-He is backing

His words with power. Important Insight: Declarations of blessing become empty words if

i. The one speaking (the blesser) has no power to enforce it.

ii. The one receiving (the blessed) does not meet the conditions attached.

Therefore.. The Blessing of God is: The declaration and revelation of God's divine will over a person, backed by His power, to make them prosper and succeed.

Nine Truths About Blessings

1. Blessings are Released by Words (Genesis 24:60; Genesis 27:27-29)

Words carry spiritual power.

What is spoken can shape destiny.

2. Blessings are Prophetic, not Just Predictive -

They don't just foretell the future... - They create the future.

3. Blessings Operate Like a Contract

There are terms and conditions.

God plays His part-but you must play yours.
4. Blessings are Activated by Obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)

Obedience switches on the blessing.

Disobedience disconnects a person from it. The blessing may still exist, but it may not be working in their life.

5. God's Blessing Brings Riches Without Sorrow (Proverbs 10:22)

No regret No hidden pain No destructive consequences.

Not all "success" is a blessing-but God's blessing is pure.

6. Blessings Have Immediate and Future Effects (Genesis 12:3)

Some results show now, others unfold over time and generations.

7. Blessings Rest on the Head (They Flow Through You) (Proverbs 10:6; Proverbs 26:2)

It starts from your mind Then affects your life, actions, and outcomes If your mind is blessed, your life will follow.

8. The Lesser is Blessed by the Greater (Hebrews 7:7)

Authority matters in blessing. Spiritual covering matters.

9. Some Blessings Are Irreversible (Genesis 27:4, 33; 1 Kings 11:9-13)

When spoken deeply (from the heart/soul), they cannot be taken back.

Prayer: Lord, help to walk in your blessing and help me be a blessing to my world.

THEME OF THE MONTH: MARCHING FORWARD

Sunday, 29th March, 2026.

TEXT: Jeremiah 29 verse 11. Romans & verse 29, Philippians 3 verse 13-14, Ephesians 2

verse 10,2 Timothy 1 verse 7, Joshua 1 verse 9

TOPIC: Marching forward the real intention of God for His children. Introduction: The concluding message of "Marching Forward" emphasizes that moving

forward is not merely a state of euphoria, but a deliberate, faith-based action of spiritual and personal advancement, anchored in the belief that God is in control of both good and difficult times. It is a command to cease stagnation, abandon fear, and trust in divine backing to fulfill one's destiny.

Biblical Focus for Marching Forward: The Command to Move: In Exodus 14:15, God commanded Moses to tell the Israelites to "go forward" even when facing the Red Sea, demonstrating that the command to move comes despite impossible obstacles.

Leaving the Past: Isaiah 43:18-19 calls believers to "forget the former things" and not dwell on the past, as God is doing a new thing. This includes releasing past failures, trauma, and even past successes to embrace the new, warns the example of Lot's wife (Genesis 19:26).

Courage over Fear: God commands, "Be strong and courageous" (Joshua 1:9), which is crucial for moving into new territories. Fear is a spirit that must be resisted, and moving forward requires trusting that God goes before, beside, and behind you (Isaiah 41:10).

Faith in Action: Marching forward requires translating faith into action, just as the priests' feet had to touch the Jordan River before it parted (Joshua 3:13-17). Faith without action is dead; divine instruction leads to breakthroughs when obeyed.

Stagnation is Not God's Will: Stagnation in career, family, or spiritual life is meant to be broken. God intends for His people to possess their possessions and move forward from the "mount of delay" (Deuteronomy 1:6-7).

Concluding virtues/take home for the March Forward:

1. Stop Complaining: Quit murmuring and complaining, which keeps one stuck in the cycle of the past.
2. HO

MA NO SY-HOU

2. Act on Divine Instruction: Obedience to the Word is the key to advancement. If God stopped your way in the past, it was likely to avoid a battle He wanted you to skip.

3. Use What is in Your Hand: God uses what you already have, like the rod in Moses hand, to open the sea.

4. Embrace Divine Backing: Understand that you are never alone, heavenly angels are assigned to help you (Hebrews 1:14).

5. Refuse to Retreat: The command is "go forward" (Exodus 14:15). There is no turning back, as the path of the just shines brighter and brighter (Proverbs 4:18).

Ultimately, marching forward means standing firm in the faith and knowing that the Lord will fight for you (Exodus 14:13-14)

Prayer: "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savlor Jesus Christ." - 2 Peter 3:18

1. Lord, I ask You to take me deeper in my relationship with You. Help me grow in wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of Your word. Remove every distraction that hinders my spiritual progress. Strengthen my faith and help me walk closer to You every day. Teach me to rely on Your guidance in all areas of my life.

2. Prayer for Clarity of Vision; Father, open my eyes to see Your plans for my life clearly. Remove confusion and doubt from my heart. Give me insight to recognize opportunities that lead to growth and discernment to avoid distractions that delay my progress.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." - Proverbs 29:18

3. Prayer for Strength and Endurance

Lord, grant me strength to persevere through challenges. Help me endure difficulties without losing faith. Fill me with patience, courage, and resilience, so that I may overcome obstacles and remain steadfast in pursuit of Your purpose.

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles." - Isaiah 40:31

Endurance is vital for progress. The next level often comes with trials. Strength from God equips us to overcome resistance and stay consistent in pursuit of His will.

THEME OF THE MONTH: MARCHING FORWARD

TEXT: Genesis 1 verse 26, Romans 6 verse 9,2 Timothy 1 verse 7, Joshua 1 verse 9

TOPIC: "Dominion as a Virtue of marching forward"

Introduction: Living a life of dominion is fundamentally about exercising spiritual authority to rule over circumstances, sin, and limitations by aligning with God's will. Key pillars Include living by the Word of God (revelation/light), consistent prayer, acting in faith, maintaining a personal relationship with God, and demonstrating godly character. It requires knowing one's identity in Christ,

Key Pillars for a Life of Dominion:

Light/Revelation (The Word of God): This is the foundational key. Understanding and applying the Bible (light) provides the wisdom to navigate challenges and rule in life.

Prayer and Fasting: Prayer is a "power key" that grants access to divine secrets, strengthens the believer, and activates the power of God for dominion.

Faith and Action: Dominion is activated by acting on the Word of God rather than just knowing it. It involves believing that you can have what God says you can have.

Identity and Consciousness: Knowing who you are in Christ (identity) and operating from a position of "seated with Christ" rather than trying to achieve power is crucial.

Character and Self-Control: True dominion requires mastering oneself (the flesh). through obedience to God.

Wisdom and Service: Accessing divine wisdom is necessary for controlling one's time and life trajectory. Serving God and his purpose is also essential for sustaining authority.

7 Pillars of Dominion:

Some perspectives emphasize specific virtues as pillars: Mercy, Riches, Wisdom, Strength, Honour, Glory, and Blessing.
Practical Applications for Dominion:

Worship and Praise: Using praise (with understanding) as a tool for overcoming spiritual obstacles.

The Power of Words: Speaking in alignment with the Word of God, not based on circumstances.

Giving God Your Heart: Prioritizing a heart-level relationship with God ever mere outward religious acts.

Honoring Spiritual Authority: Receiving grace by honoring those on whom God

Prayer of Commitment: "Father, help us release the past. Give us courage to move forward. Let this season bring new strength and direction. Order our steps with your wisdom

Lord, order my steps and guide my decisions. I choose to embrace Your will and align with Your purpose, moving forward Into a new season, in Jesus' name.

Give thanks for new phase unveiling before you in this era of new dispensation of victory.

Happy International women day to all our wonderful women!

THEME OF THE MONTH MARCHING FORWARD

TEXT: Song of Solomon 2 v 15. Matthew 13 v 28, Matthew 15 v 13, Genesis 1 v 28

TOPIC: "TRUST IN GOD

Introduction: Marching forward in faith requires active, spiritual vigilance to identity and climinate "little foxes the subtle, seemingly insignificant habits, compromises, or attitudes that threaten to destroy the fruitfulness of one's life, family, and relationship with God. Based on the imagery in Song of Solomon 2:15, these small, often overinosed issues can cause disproportionate damage, gnawing at the roots of one's spiritual, emotional, and relational well-being.

The Text: "Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes" (Song of Salomon 2:15, KIV).

Metaphor: While large dangers (big foxes) are easy to spot and avoid, little foxes are subtle, there is one verse in the Gospel of John which tells us of the Lord's purpose for every one of His children. That verse is John 15:16, which contains the word of Jesus Himself- "You did not choose me, but I have chosen you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last", and it would seem most appropriate to set the key-verse of this study against this one great declaration of our Lord. To do this will enable us to learn some lessons about fruitfulness in Christian living and in Christian service. Consider the

following sequence of teaching:-

1. TO BEGIN WITH, WE SEE THAT JESUS HIMSELF IS "THE TRUE VINE"

We are sure of this because we are told in John 15:1 that He said of Himself, "I am the true vine". He said this in connection with the institution of the Lord's Supper, when the bread and wine were employed by Him as symbols of His sacrifice and offering upon Calvary. He was therefore saying to His disciples, "I am the real, genuine vine", and of course the vine is the source of the fruit. Any fruit which appears on the vine does not derive its life from the branches or from the leaves, but from the vine itself; nor is any fruit that appears on the vine the result of any effort on the part of the branches or the leaves! This leads us to the second truth, which is clearly emphasized in John 15.

2. BELIEVERS, CHRISTIANS, ARE BRANCHES IN THE VINE

We are also told in John 15:1 that our Lord said, "My Father is the gardener" - that is, He is the One who tends the vine and busies Himself with the branches, as verses 2-6 Indicate. But who are the branches? We have the answer in verse 5-"I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. The branches, then, are believers, Christians, and incidentally this verse shows us exactly what a Christian is A Christian is a branch in the vine, one who is joined to Christ, united to Him and deriving life from Him, and he is a participant of His very nature (2 Peter 1:4). A branch is not a dead stick, it is a living thing. This leads us to the third truth.

3. AS BRANCHES IN THE VINE, WE ARE TO BEAR FRUIT

It is the function of the branch to bear fruit. Thus, we read in John 15 verse 2, "Every branch in me that bears not fruit"; in verse 4, "No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must in verse 5, "He will bear much fruit..."; and in verse 16 we read that we are "chosen...appointed..." for what? To "go and bear fruit"! The Lord is looking for fruit in our lives, and as He looks He says - look up Hosea 14:8. The source of this fruit is the Lord Himself, the manifestation of this fruit is seen in the branches of the vine. What kind of fruit are we, as Christians, to bear? What is the fruit that appears on the branches which are united to the true vine?

Prayer:-

1. Every form of habit hindering my progress I come against it, in the name of Jesus Christ.

2. Whatever work the enemies have done, Matthew 13 verse 28, Matthew 15 verse 13

3. Lord open my eyes to the secrets of fruitfulness

4. Lord as I read the Bible open my eyes to see and my ears to hear what the Spirit is revealing to the Church.

5. Declare and decree I am fruitful because God's word said none shall be barren Exodus 23 verse 26

THEME OF THE MONTH MARCHING FORWARD

TEXT: Exodus 14 verse 13-31

TOPIC: "TRUST IN GOD"

Introduction: spiritual progress, divine acceleration, and overcoming obstacles through faith in God, similar to the Israelites at the Red Sea. It emphasizes moving ahead despite fear or limitations, trusting God's promises, and actively obeying His command to advance.

Anchor scripture: Exodus 14:13-31... what did God do for the children of Israel?

Because Moses wholeheartedly trusted God and His Word, he encouraged the people.

He presented four crucial points on how to act in difficult situations:

1. " 'Do not be afraid" (Exodus 14:13, NKJV). The first appeal is to trust the Lord, because only in this way can fear be overcome. Isaiah reminds us of this truth by stating that believers are in God's hands, and He will act for them when they accept Him as their God and Lord: "'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.... For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you" (Isaiah 41:10,13, NIV).

2. 'Stand [firm) still" (Exodus 14:13, NKJV). To "stand still" does not mean only to stop murmuring and to expect great things but also to trust God and to wait patiently for His mighty intervention, because He will act.

3. You will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today'" (Exodus 14:13, NIV). For our faith to grow, it is important to recognize God's leadership and help and to be grateful for His promised assistance. To "see" means to open one's eyes (because disbelief is blind). Only God can provide victory, safety, and salvation. God is always for us, caring and providing what is needed at the appropriate time.

4. "'The Lord will fight for you'" (Exodus 14:14, NKJV). This indicates what God will do: He will personally fight for His people. Calvary is the ultimate proof of this reality, for on the cross Christ defeated Satan in order to give us eternal life (John 5:24; Hebrews 2:14; Revelation 12:10-11). Later, even the Egyptians recognized that the Lord was fighting for the Israelites (Exodus 14:25).
5. God's command to Moses was clear: "Move on." God unfolded His action plan step by step: (1) the Angel of God and the pillar of cloud moved from the front of Israel's camp and stood behind them, protecting them from the Egyptian army: (2) by faith Moses had to stretch out his hand over the sea; (3) the Lord divided the water and dried it up with a strong wind; and (4) the result was that the Israelites went securely through the sea on dry ground to the other side. The Egyptians blindly pursued them, because they did not see that God was doing extraordinary things for His people, that is, they didn't see until it was too late, as their confession in Exodus 14:25 revealed.
