Topic: Understanding Godly Wisdom (Part One)
Text: Prov.3:13-15

Introduction:
There is no sane person who would not want to be wise. It is a good compliment when anyone is referred to as being a wise person. In both religious and non-religious circles (eg Folktales) wisdom is always presented as being a good virtue.

Our text, makes this pointedly clear. Whoever finds wisdom is a blessed person. Wisdom is highly profitable. Wisdom is unparalleled in value. In fact, there is nothing anyone can desire that can be compared with wisdom.

Take note that this text is referring to godly wisdom or the wisdom that comes from God. Since this is so, and this kind of wisdom (as we would get to later, there is another kind of wisdom) is so important, it is definitely a good thing for anyone to understand more about this wisdom, seek for it and once found begin to make appropriate use of it.

These are the reasons for the series of lessons we will be exposing ourselves to as we go through this learning journey. May God from whom this wisdom proceeds, teach and bless us as we continue, Amen.

Shalom!

Welcome to 2026

Thanks be to God for carrying us through another calendar year and into the new one, 2026. As usual, there is so much excitement about the new year. May God grant our good desires.

Let's begin the year with a teaching on OBEDIENCE. Today, let's specifically look at the topic: UNDERSTANDING BIBLICAL OBEDIENCE.

What does the Bible teach about obedience? A summary of the Bible's teaching on obedience is responding rightly to godly instructions. So, whenever anyone responds to a godly instruction rightly, as far as the Bible is concerned, obedience has taken place.

This definition of obedience has critical features.

1. Biblical obedience is not responding to instructions. It is responding to godly instructions. This means that a person can respond to an instruction and still be disobedient in God's perspective. For instance, God warned the Israelites not to respond to the instruction from a prophet to worship other gods because such an instruction isn't godly. This is despite such a prophet being accurate in his previous predictions and even working miracles (Deut . 13:1-3).

2. Obedience is not responding to godly instructions alone. It is responding rightly to such an instruction. This is very crucial. The response to the instruction must be the right response. Saul responded to God's instructions through Samuel to destroy Amalek. However, his response was not done rightly because he did not do exactly as instructed. God called it disobedience (1 Sam. 15:1-23).

So, as we journey through the new year, let's be mindful of the instructions we are receiving. Let's ensure they are godly instructions. Let's be mindful of our responses to these instructions. Let's ensure we are doing as required. When we live this way, we are living in obedience to God as taught in the Bible.

Shalom!

My Christmas Day Message
Thursday, 25th Dec. 2025
TPC, Lafia
Five of the best ways to live during the Christmas period.

We see a lot of extreme negative behaviors during the Christmas period. Drunkenness and sexual immorality just to mention a few. While many believers in Christ won't indulge in such extreme negative behaviors, we usually do not make the best use of this period. So, here are five of the best ways we can live during this period.

1. Don't neglect the spiritual disciplines that contribute to growing in Christ. The Christmas period shouldn't lead to a slow or end to praying, reading the scripture and church meeting attending.

2. Reflect on the goodness of God and people we have experienced in the course of the year. Then genuinely appreciate God and such people. No question about it, God and people have been good to us in the course of the year. This period is a good time to remember and sincerely appreciate God and such persons as have been good to us.

3. Use this period to prepare for the next year. Prepare spiritually by asking God for His guidance. Prepare financially by saving rather than excessive spending. Life doesn't end at the end of the year.

4. Be a channel of blessing to others according to the capacity God has given to you. Share with others whatever you have. Share especially with the less privileged. Put a smile on someone's face.

5. Lastly, reflect on lessons learned in the course of the current year. Resolve to apply these lessons in the next year. Remember past mistakes and the lessons learned. Prepare not to repeat the mistakes. Remember also past successes. Prepare to improve on them.

Let's not live as fools but as wise. Let's make the most of every season (Eph. 5:15-16).

Merry Christmas 🎄

Knowing what to do and doing what is known are two different things.

In the journey to success, knowing what to do is the beginning point. It is where it all begins. Celebrating this stage is good. It is not enough though.

We must move on from this point to doing what is known. It is only when the gap between knowing what to do and doing what is known is properly bridged that success is an ever-near destination.

Remember, it is not those who hear the word alone (knowing what to do) that are blessed. If we stopped at knowing what to do, we would only deceive ourselves.

It is those who hear and then do what is heard (keep doing what is known) that are blessed. So, today and beyond, be glad about what you know. Bridge the gap between what you know and success by doing what you know.

Message Title: Supernatural Prosperity through Divine Ideas

Speaker: Pst Alphonsus

Message Summary:
When God wants to prosper His people, He sometimes uses the means of Divine ideas.

What is a Divine idea?
A Divine idea is God telling us how to do a thing and when we act accordingly, we experience unusual prosperity. For instance, God can tell us how we should go about what we are doing now to earn money. When we do likewise, it will result in unusual prosperity.

Biblical Example of Divine Idea: It was through the means of Divine Idea that God prospered Jacob when he was at Laban's house. Jacob came to Laban's house empty-handed after he ran from home. He worked 14 years just to get his two wives. Laban cheated him ten times (Gen. 31:6). Yet, because of one idea from God, Jacob became more prosperous than Laban (Gen. 30:25-43; 31:10-12). May we have experiences of Divine Ideas in Jesus' name.

Divine idea is necessary: We need Divine ideas because God's knowledge, understanding, and wisdom are infinitely more than ours. God knows what is best for us, including how best to go about doing things that will result in our prosperity (Isaiah 48:17).

Conclusion:
Let's ask God for the following:
1. Lord, please give me the ideas I need to prosper
2. Lord, please as you give me ideas, help me to know, accept, and act accordingly
3. Lord, according to your word, as I act on your ideas, cause me to experience supernatural prosperity in Jesus' name.

Shalom!

Message Title: Supernatural Prosperity through Divine Restoration

Speaker: Pst. Alphonsus

Message Summary: One of the means or ways that God uses to cause His people to prosper supernaturally is Divine Restoration.

What is Divine Restoration? This is when God causes us to get back anything good that we had lost in the past, especially what we need presently. For example, if you had lost money in the past, perhaps because of a bad investment, God can cause you to get back this money, especially because you presently need money.

Note that Divine Restoration is not limited to material things alone (Jer. 30:17).

A good example of Divine Restoration is seen in the life of David. David and his army returned to their camp in Ziklag only to find out it had been raided by the Amalekites. Their entire family members and belongings had been taken away. This made them weep until they had no strength. But David prayed, and God promised him he would get back everything he had lost. Indeed, with the help of God, David and his men got back everything- every family member and belonging and even more (1 Sam. 30:1-4, 7-8, 17-20).

Even if it was through our fault (sin) that we lost something in the past, God, because of His grace and mercy, can cause us to get back what we had lost. Remember, Divine Restoration is the product of God's Favour and not because we have earned it or even deserve it (Psalm 85:1).

When God causes Divine Restoration to take place, He not only makes us get back what we had lost, but He also gives us more than what we had lost. This is how He uses Divine Restoration to bring us prosperity (2 Kings 8:1-6; Joel 2:25-26). So, after today, expect what you had lost in the past- money, good relationships, business opportunities, positions, health, etc, to be returned to you in abundance in Jesus' name.

Conclusion:
Pray these:
1. Lord, whatever good thing I had lost in the past, that I need presently, please restore.
2. Exo. 22:1 When a thief is caught

A thankful attitude is very essential. One benefit of having this attitude is that it sets one up to experience continuous blessings.

A thankful attitude is having the habit of appreciating God for every good experience and anyone who adds good value to us. A thankful attitude is believing and acknowledging God as the source of every good experience and the people through whom we have these experiences as God's channels. A thankful attitude will usually take note of specific good experiences and deliberately show appreciation.

One way a thankful attitude sets one up for more blessings is that the person- God and humans, being thanked become inclined to keep doing good things for the person doing the thanks (Psalm 50:14-15). So, a cycle is created. The person who has been blessed gives thanks; this makes the person receiving the thanks inclined to do more.

So, do we want to be well-positioned to experience continuous blessings and build a thankful attitude? Make it a habit to sincerely appreciate both God and the people through whom we are blessed

All humans are naturally selfish and self-centered. Love is not natural to us. Even when we talk about Love, we mostly refer to being the recipients of Love rather than giving or showing Love.

It is only when we become born again through faith in Jesus that our selfish natures begin the transformation into Love. As we grow in Christ through feeding on God's words (the Scriptures) and yielding to the Holy Spirit our new Love nature becomes more evident.

Three ways we can practice Love consistently are:
1. Practice giving without any hidden motives
2. Practice sincerely praying for others to be blessed
3. Genuinely serve others by using whatever God has blessed you with for the benefit of others.

Shalom!

The more I understand and experience God's grace, the more I am ashamed of those instances when I thought, spoke, and acted boastfully. Indeed, to boast or be proud is utter foolishness.

We are all products of the workings of God's grace. Sometimes, we are conscious of the effects of God's grace. Other times, we are not aware of its mysterious effects.

Be it as it may, we are not if not for His grace. We are nothing if not for His grace. We can do nothing if not for His grace. We have nothing if not for His grace.

Today, it will be good to think about God's graciousness and intentionally appreciate Him for being so gracious to us.

Shalom.

Message Title: Seven things to do to make 2025 a blessed year.

God has no problem blessing His people. There are things we need to do to make us properly positioned to receive and enjoy God's blessings.

1. Don't allow anything and anyone to come between you and God.
2. Be committed to knowing and consistently practicing Bible truths.
3. Make it your default practice to take everything to God first in prayer.
4. Be committed to serving God by using your gifts and abilities appropriately.
5. Be wise in doing good to others.
6. Be committed to doing everything excellently.
7. Be addicted to thanking God and those through whom you are blessed.

Shalom!
