SOME PEOPLE ARE GETTING READY TO KILL THEMSELVES OVER 2023. THEY DONT KNOW IF THEY WILL BE ALIVE BY 2023.
SOMEONE ASKED ME WHO I THINK WILL BE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA IN 2023. I SAID HOW ARE YOU SURE THERE WILL BE NIGERIA IN 2023?
MY GREATEST EXPECTATION IS TO SEE ALL OF YOU IN HEAVEN. THAT IS WHY HOLINESS IS MY THEME SONG BECAUSE WITHOUT HOLINESS, NO MAN SHALL SEE GOD.
YOUR EXPECTATION SHOULD BE TO LIVE A LIFE OF EXPLOITS ON EARTH.
EXPLOITS ARE THOSE THINGS THAT WHEN YOU DO THEM, EVERYONE WILL KNOW THAT THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE BY GOD.
WE MUST KEEP EXPECTING HIS SECOND COMING, MANY OF US HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT JESUS WILL COME AGAIN.

Let’s bless the Holy name of the Almighty God, give Him honour, give Him glory, give Him adoration. Thank Him for everything He has done from the beginning of the year, thank Him for preservation. Give Him glory, give Him honour because your appointed time has come. Thank Him for provision, preservation, for defence against all the attacks of the enemy. He is worthy to be praised. Thank you My Father. Glory be to your holy name. Thank you Unchangeable Changer, forever be glorified in Jesus might name we have given thanks.
Today we want to pray specially for every landlord and landowner. Tenants too pray because by the law of harvest and the special grace of God you are going to be landlords one day, so with all your heart everybody pray for all landlords and landowners that God will give them long life, good health to enjoy the fruit of their labours. Open your mouth and cry to the Lord.
We cry unto you for all tenants and their family that you will send help to them, you will prosper them so they don’t die as tenants. Church Gist. Except you build a house they build in vain that builds it. For all tenants we are praying Lord that you will build houses for them and they won’t die as tenants.
I want us to pray for all those who suffered losses at the tragic destruction of a house been built in Lagos. That the Almighty God will comfort them and that this kind of evil will never happen again. We pray for the Governor, his Government and all those who have suffered as a result of what happened that the almighty God will put an end to this type of tragedy. Church Gist. No more houses collapsing in Lagos or any where else. Please Lord have mercy on us and put an end to sorrow. Please Lord comfort all those who are in sorrow. Have mercy oh Lord.
Father you have been good to me this far, please let me see the new year. Let me see the new year in prosperity, in health, in joy, in peace. Thank you for how far you have been good to me, please let me see the new year with progress, with mighty testimonies. Thank you Father.

Alpha and Omega we worship you, Thank You for January, thank You for February, thank You for March, Thank You for April, Thank You for May, Thank You for June, Thank You for July, Thank You for August, Thank You September, Thank You for October, Thank You for November. Lord today we are entrusting all landlords into your hands. We say that you protect them, let them enjoy good health, let them enjoy the fruit of the labour of their hands. We also commit all the tenants into your hand, don’t let any of your children die as tenants, prosper them also let them also become landlords, stand by them, provide for them and let them build also. All those who are in sorrow comfort them and in all our states Lord God Almighty let there be no more tragedy and today in a very special way visit your children, in Jesus name we have prayed.
Next month by God’s grace we will be having our Congress and the theme of the Congress is ‘The Siege is Over'. I thank God who has kept you this far and because you are not going to enter the new year under any siege. Please inform your friends, your relatives and even your enemies that the siege will soon be over and they should be part of the Congress.
This morning we have been asked to discuss ‘GREAT EXPECTATIONS'. That is a very big topic and there is no way we can finish it in 30 minutes but we will try our best.
Proverbs 24:13-14
‘Great Expectations' are two big words. What do we mean by expectation in the language of the market woman? You could say expectation means what you want to become, for example if you are a prince, your expectations would be one day when your father has grown to a very old age and finally goes to where elders go your expectation is that you become king. Church Gist. Or you could say expectation is what I want to have, something I am expecting will soon be in my hand. For example, when a woman is pregnant her expectation is that she would soon have her own child. There used to be a store in London where they sell children materials, clothes for new born babies and the name of that store is Great Expectations and their customers are usually pregnant women.
Expectation on another hand can be what I want to achieve. The student in the university is expecting when he will graduate and get B.A. or B.Sc or whatever but then of course when you become a graduate unless you tell somebody you are a graduate nobody will know. You were a Mr before and now you are still a Mr. So you say I want to become a Dr. So that everybody will know I am different. Church Gist. So you press forward and you get Ph.D. and people begin to call you Dr. But one day you are driving your car and you see a notice put up by a repairer of watches and he puts there ‘Doctor of Watches'. You say “Oh God, I think there are other kinds of doctors”. So you press forward so they can call you Professor and everybody will know this one is not for watches. Then you become a Prof and you discover there have been so many Profs before you. You say maybe I will move forward and become V.C. and you move forward to become V.C. and soon you discover there is nothing more to become.
If we ask everybody, young and old “can you tell us your greatest expectation?”. A very large percentage will say money, I want to be rich and you can’t blame them. The difference between the tenant and the landlord is money (Ecclesiastes 10:19). You have money? You can buy food, you can buy clothes, you can buy the house from the landlord, you make him an offer he cannot refuse. There is a building ‘Millennium Dome' in London when they just finished building it I went in to check it out and one of the inscriptions on the wall is “when money is speaking, nobody checks the grammar”. In other words, if a rich man is talking if he says he ‘wented' nobody cares. Church Gist. When you are raising funds nobody cares about the grammar you speak, it’s how much. That is why they don’t invite Professor to fundraising because all they would do is blow grammar.

However money has challenges, it just does not satisfy. That is what the Bibles says in 5:10, the more you have the more you want. In Ecclesiastes 5:12, the Bible says the sleeps of a poor man is sweet but the abundance of a rich man won’t even let him sleep. Imagine you wake up by 5am in Mushin to go and catch a bus that will take you to work, you work from morning till evening and get home by earliest 9pm because of traffic and eat whatever your wife serves you, the moment you hit the bed you are gone it doesn’t matter whether there are 10 of you living in one room. Do you know what? There are those who are rich who are very miserable. Some of them have problems deciding what they will eat for breakfast because they have too much.
I have told you before that I slept over at a rich man’s house and we were to eat breakfast the next morning and the cook said “Sir what will you have for breakfast?”. He said what did I eat yesterday? They told him, what about three days ago? After everything he decided he wanted to eat bread and egg. The cook asked how he wants the egg, Omelette, Boiled, Fried or Scrambled? He said boiled and the cook asked again, how does he want the egg boiled is it hard boiled, medium boiled or soft boiled. Church Gist. Finally he decided on medium, okay, how many minutes of boiling? Ah ah! By this time I was very hungry so when the cook came to me, I said just bring anything, make sure it is plenty. One of the biggest problems of money, is that after you have finished buying everything people will ask you why are you still pursuing money?
Ecclesiastes 2:11
Solomon who wrote that book said he bought every thing buyable but still concluded “All is vanity”. When I read about one of these Arab Princes who had 500 Rolls Royce, I said this is madness. How many cars can you drive in one day? Some people say they are not struggling for money anymore for their self, they are struggling for their children. That sounds good but the elders have a saying that you can’t rejoice over children because it is the one who is buried that has a child. Church Gist. That means you are not even sure you have a child until you are dead, that is the plain truth. Do you know how this children will use the money after you are gone? There is something far better than you laying up treasures for your children, it is that this children will prosper so much while you are alive that they wont need your money when you die. I have told you the story of a friend of mine who died of old age and when they were reading his will. He willed his Mercedes 280, which used to be a big thing in those days to his first son and the others were laughing because he had no space in his house to park it, he already had 5 Mercedes cars.
- Your children will be greater than you in the mighty name of Jesus.
The Bible tells us the story of a man in Luke 12:16-21, who had so much and said now let me relax, I don’t need to struggle anymore. I will just sit down and eat. God said you are a fool, you don’t know if you will be around tomorrow. In Mathew 6:24-33, it says why do you run after the things that unbelievers run after, God knows all the things that you need. He knows you can’t eat more than one food at a time or ride in more than one car at a time or wear two clothes at a time. Church Gist. He said, seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing will be added unto you”. What is your expectation, Money? It cannot satisfy you. It can only frustrate you.
Some people want fame, they want power – political power. This is 2021 some people are already getting ready to kill themselves over 2023. They don’t even know whether there will be 2023. If there is 2023, whether there will still be around. There is nobody who can say for sure that they will still be around tomorrow. It is God who decides who will be around in 2023. Someone asked me, who do you think is going to be President in 2023 and I said President of where? He said Nigeria. I said how are you sure there will be Nigeria in 2023. I pray there will be, so don’t misquote me but are you are sure?
Jeremiah 45:5, 2 Chronicles 26:3-22
We see that absolute power corrupts absolutely. There was a young boy, he was a good man before he became King, God said it Himself but he became king and forgot God and he died a l***r. In 1 Samuel 15:1-31, there was this young boy called Saul, very humble boy when they said they wanted to make him king he went to hide but when they made him king… if you want to be popular very soon you will become a slave of the people. God have mercy on those of you who are popular. You don’t know what you are missing, can you see a Governor stop by the road side to buy Bole. That is why I thank God I am not popular, anytime I drive and I see Bole by the roadside, I will stop the driver, buy my Bole and eat it. If you don’t like me eating my Bole that is your headache. Some pastors want to be popular so they don’t tell you the truth, they don’t tell you to be holy. Church Gist. I will tell you the truth, I don’t care if it offends you. Next time, if I ask you to vote for me don’t vote. Those who are saying Hosanna today will say Crucify him later. King Saul wanted to become popular and he started to disobey God, when the man of God asked me why he did this, he said I was afraid of the people. You want to be popular? You become a slave of the people. True promotion comes from God. He raises up one and He brings down another, if He decides to promote you, then you will be promoted but seek Him first.
Let me show you two people of what should be our expectations as children of God. First is a fellow called Apostle Paul.
Philippians 3:7-11
He said if I can just know Him, I will do exploits. (Daniel 11:32) what is exploits? Something that when you do it everyone will know that only God can do this. I have told you the story of myself and one of my friends a former President of the country, you don’t need to know him. Church Gist. One day we were relaxing together and he just all of a sudden asked a question, “who is greater; The President or the Pastor?” I said the Pastor of course, he said “I know you will say that, I am the President. I said “Congratulations Sir” he said “if I declare curfew from 6am – 6pm, who will come to your services?” I said “I know you have that power but can you pray for the lame to walk? The barren to conceive? Can you pray for blind eyes to see?” somebody is greater than somebody.
Paul said I want to have the power that God gives, not the power that human beings give and can take away. The Bible tells us in Acts 19:11-12, God performed special miracles through the life of Paul that his handkerchiefs and aprons could heal the sick and cast out demons. I was rejoicing when my secretary was sharing a testimony during the Convention. Church Gist. He said I wasn’t in and they brought one blind fellow from Ibadan, we want to see Daddy, we believe if he prays for us this fellow will receive his sight. He said I was not around that they should come back later, all of a sudden he realized that he had some handkerchiefs Daddy have prayed over, so he laid it on the man’s eyes and prayed for him and three days later the fellow came back seeing. That is power, that is the kind of expectation we are talking about.
2. Moses
Exodus 33:17-23
When God said Moses anything you ask I will do, He said show me your glory I want to see you. The glory of everything will fade but the glory of God will be forever. God told Moses you have asked for a very dangerous thing, if you see me you will die but I will show you my backside and from that day on his face shone like the sun and he had to cover his face to speak to people.
1 John 3:2
One day we are going to see Jesus and when we see Him we shall be like Him. Your expectation should be the second coming of Jesus, Many of us have forgotten that He is coming again. Some people are so busy pursuing pleasure, pursuing money that they forget the trumpet can sound at any time. Church Gist. I am looking forward to seeing Him, I got a glimpse of Him in 1976 but He was far away, very far away. After I saw what I saw, Holiness became my theme song because the Bible says without Holiness no man shall see God, I want to see Him. When He comes again, there will be no more tears.

You know we Pastors, when a member of the congregation loses someone, we know what to say, we have it all figured out but wait till it happens to you. I had my own taste of sorrow earlier this year so when someone says they lost someone, I understand. A day is coming when there will be no more sorrow, no more ache, no more pain, that should be your expectations.
My greatest expectation is that I see all of you in Heaven, not only those who are in RCCG but I know many more people will join us. Church Gist. That if God allows us Members of RCCG to occupy a section of heaven, even the angels will come and say ‘you people tried oh”. I want to see you in heaven. Which is why you find me crying all the time, if you are not living holy, live holy because without holiness no man shall see God. Unless you are holy, no heaven for you.
The prayer this morning is just one, you will cry to the Lord Almighty and say Lord anything that will not allow me to make it to heaven don’t give it to me. If I already have it take it from me.
