*JOHN 5:2-9*
John.5.2 - Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.
John.5.3 - Here a great number of disabled people used to lie--the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.
John.5.4 - For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
John.5.5 - One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.
John.5.6 - When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?"
John.5.7 - "Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me."
John.5.8 - Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."
John.5.9 - At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

*THE MERCIFUL HEALER*

*THE MESSAGE*
Beloved, do not forget that as a child of God, healing is your inheritance. (Exodus 15:26). Healing is the powerful act of delivering from sickness. Healing can come up in variety of forms. Healing can be physical (in the case of the man in this passage). It does not matter for how long you have been ill, for Jesus to heal you all you need to do is to accepted His offer of help. He is the Great Physician. He is also the great and merciful Healer.

According to our passage today, the sick man was not the one that asked Jesus for healing, rather it was Jesus who decided to show mercy on the man when He realized that he had been in that sick position for many years. This is a confirmation that Jesus knows about that illness, and for how long you have been nursing it, (John 5:5-6).
