When we gather for the TIMSAN Northern Convention 3.0, we are not just visiting a geographic location. We are journeying into a sanctuary of profound spiritual history. This year, the convention is zoned to the historic town of Okene, the resting place of a matriarch of faith, Sayyidah Bilqis Inyass.
Born into nobility on December 31, 1939 (21st Zhul-Qa'ada, 1358), Sayyidah Balqeesah was the daughter of the legendary Sheikh Abdul-Maleek (Nigeriaโs first High Commissioner to the United Kingdom) and the granddaughter of the first traditional ruler of Ebira land, Atta Ibrahim Onoruoiza.
Her life was defined by absolute devotion. Raised with immense love by her father, she learned early the beauty of trust and spiritual obedience. In 1954, that pure trust culminated in her marriage in Kaolack, Senegal, to the spiritual titan and master of the Tijjaniyyah path, Mawlana Sheikh Ibrahim Niass (RA). Their union broke down tribal walls, embodying the Sheikhโs vision of a united, borderless community of faith.
After a life filled with dignity, charisma, and unmatched grace, our mother returned to her Lord on April 15, 2017, and her remains were laid to rest on the blessed soil of Okene.
For every delegate attending TIMSAN 3.0, this convention offers a rare, sacred milestone. We will be embarking on a coordinated Ziyarah to the Rawdah of Sayyidah Balqeesah Inyass.
To understand the immense blessings covering her and those who visit her, look no further than the beautiful Qasidah (poem) written for her household by her husband, Maulana Sheikh Ibrahim Niass, which continues to manifest in their lineage today:

And fulfill my need and the need of Abdul Maleek # # (By) the pre-eminence of the Lord of Maleek and do not dishonor (him)

And clothe him in Firdaws with fine brocade which # # Is ennobling and flamboyant, that eases (his) pain

And be as his safeguard against what he fears and be (there) for him # # Just like his son, Mashood, without any discrimination
