*BIRTHDAY DESSERT*
Convenant *vs*Righteousness

Are you righteous before God? Congratulations.
By this you have exchanged your righteousness with Jesus' on the cross. It means you are born again.
*BUT!!!*
There is a better position to stand, it is the place of covenant. Im not talking about the covenant of the blood of Jesus because we all share in that already which makes us righteous

Rather I speak of the covenant we consciously enter with God by sacrifice (psa 50:5)

You can initiate a covenant with God by sacrificing something that is worth much to you. Abraham, David, Solomon, Daniel were all covenanted.
Abraham:sacrificed his son, inheritance.

David: sacrificed his ego and prestige as king when he praised God.

Solomon: sacrificed a thousand burnt offering

Daniel: sacrificed the portion of the king's meat offered to him

*Dont wait for the Lord to ask you what he wants, rather ask him what he wants or give him what he deserves. .*

*Gen 20:1-7 God was ready to kill a righteous man because of a covenanted man*

Whether in our time or generations to come God'll always choose covenant over righteousness.

Open Heavens 29 May 2015: Friday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – What Has Your Affection?

Topic: What Has Your Affection? [Friday May 29, 2015]

Memorise: Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. - Colossians 3:2.

Read: Colossians 3:1-6 (KJV)

1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6. For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Bible in One Year: 2 Samuel 23-24, Mark 15:33-16:8

MESSAGE:

I have observed that one of the reasons why many Christians find it difficult to live according to the standards of the Bible today is that their mind is not set on the things of heaven, and the reason for this is the coming of material prosperity to the church. Is it then a mistake that God has prospered us materially? Certainly not! Abraham was blessed, Isaac was blessed and Jacob was also blessed, but yet, they all served the Lord. King David even blessed the Lord for material prosperity among other things. Psalm 103:1&5 says,

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name…. who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

I have always said that the grace you need to manage material prosperity is far greater than the grace you need to manage poverty. When God begins to prosper you, you must begin to pray harder for more grace to manage the prosperity, or else, your affection may shift from the things of heaven. It is foolishness to serve the Lord and be mindful of the t

Open Heavens 18 April 2015: Saturday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Give Wisely

Topic: Give Wisely [Saturday April 18, 2015]

Memorise: The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. - Proverbs 11:25

Read: Genesis 23:12-14

12 And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.

13 And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.

14 And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,

MESSAGE:

There are certain things people don’t know about sowing and reaping. This lack of knowledge has denied some people their harvest. There is a need therefore to always ask God for the wisdom of sow and reap rightly in every area of life. It is one thing to know what to sow and it is another thing to know how to sow it. Of importance also is the need to know where to sow and how to water what has been sown to produce the desired harvest. Ask any farmer who understands natural farming principles, he will tell you that reaping a good harvest is usually a walk in the park once the correct principles are followed. There are people who will sow today and want to reap today. According to Scripture, such an expectation is not applicable to great harvests. There was a time I was sowing a particular item into the life of people and I was worried because the harvest was taking time. I therefore asked God what was happening and He said “Son, if you plant maize, you can harvest it within three months, but if you plant yam, you will have to wait a little longer.” The greater the quality of seed sown, the longer you will have to wait to enter into your harvest.

Entering into your ultimate financial breakthrough may not come as easily as you think. It may involve sowing at a time most inconvenient; it may even involve seemingly endan

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL – FRIDAY- 17/04/2015 –.
Topic: KEEP YOURSELF HUMBLE

Memorise
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1 Peter 5:6

Read
1 Samuel 15:17-19

17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they beconsumed.

19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

MESSAGE
Several years ago, I was on a visit to a parish of our church in Ilesha (a town in southwest Nigeria) on the same day that a Bible Study service was to take place. Because I wanted to be blessed, I sat down in the congregation waiting for the Bible Study teacher to commence the lesson for the day. However, an overzealous usher announced that I was around, and so the Bible Study teacher refused to teach while I was sitting in the congregation. When he insisted, I offered to interpret the message for him. In spite of this, he still would not teach. I then ordered, “As the General Overseer, I command you to teach.” Not wanting to disobey me, he started teaching, though he was uncomfortable having me as his interpreter. It was a humorous scene, but we had a wonderful time.

One great undoing of present-day minister is pride. Humility can be discerned from your relationship with your superiors and subordinates. When you respect your subordinates as though they were your superiors, you are beginning to learn the principles of a humble life. There is nothing good that can come out of arrogance and pride: only destruction.

Some people are humble when their ministry is still modest, but the moment they gain publicity and popularity, they become so proud and see themselves as infa
