*ALONE WITH GOD*
Bible Text: Luke 5:12-16, Luke 6:12-16

The world we live in is such a busy place with attendant issues that distracts men. In our days there is hardly anything you do for a living that is not time consuming. Also, the world is saddled with varied challenges, confrontations, problems and the like. Therefore, it is very imperative for believers to be decisive to separate themselves from the noise of the world and be set apart unto God.
Jesus evidently practiced separation and being alone with Father as a way of life. The ministry of Jesus was so characterized with laudable success, achievement and fulfillment. If the Son of God who is God sent into the world for man’s redemption can pay the sacrifice of being alone, how much more human beings with evil tendencies.
I encourage everyone out of necessity to practice being set apart. Jacob had been full of himself but when he perceived danger, he decided to be alone with God. The Bible says in _Genesis 32:24 “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.”_ The following are evidential benefits of being alone with God:
- Being set apart gives you access to divinity:
God is always with us but separation from people and things gives you the serenity and uniqueness of encounter. Jacob encountered an angel – a divine being.
- Being alone with God is the channel to surpassing blessings.
God promised His blessings on Jacob in _Genesis 32:29b “And he blessed him there.”_ The blessing that came upon Jacob completely changed his life, when Esau eventually saw Jacob, he could not fight or harm him. For God to bless Abram, he had to separate himself from his fathers’ house which was associated with obvious challenges. Study Genesis 12:1-3.
- Jesus Christ practiced being alone with God and through that, He had access to so much power and anointing.
You cannot be noisy within and without and attract the Shekinah glory of God. In conclusion being alone and set apart will require decision, determination, devotion and discipline. Receive grace in Jesus’ name.
*Declaration and Action*
- I have decided to practice a lifestyle of separation unto God consistently in Jesus’ name.
- I attract every requisite grace, decision and determination to practice separation unto God consistently.
*Take Away: For you to make any meaningful impact in your life, you must steadily practice being alone with God. Learn to separate yourself consistently to fellowship with the Holy Spirit.*
*Memory Verse*
_Matthew 14:23 “And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.”_
