PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING*

*What Is Thanksgiving?*

Thanksgiving is the act of giving thanks to God* for who He is and what He has done. It is a form of *worship and expression of gratitude to God.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” — Psalm 100:4

*Why Thanksgiving Is Important*

- Acknowledges God as the Source of all blessings (James 1:17)
- Keeps us humble and grateful (Luke 17:12–19)
- Opens the door to more blessings (John 6:11 – Jesus gave thanks before multiplication)
- Brings peace of heart and mind (Philippians 4:6–7)
- It is God’s will for us (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

*What Is the Prayer of Thanksgiving?*

The prayer of thanksgiving is a deliberate prayer focused solely on thanking God — not asking for anything, just appreciating Him.

*Why the Prayer of Thanksgiving Is Necessary*

It draws God’s presence – Psalm 22:3: God inhabits the praises of His people.

It builds our faith – When we thank God for past victories, it strengthens us for future ones.
It shifts our focus from problems to God’s power.
It is a form of spiritual warfare – Praise and thanksgiving confuse the enemy (2 Chronicles 20:21–22).
It shows maturity in our walk with God — not always asking, but appreciating.

*When to Offer Thanksgiving*

In good times – Psalm 103:1–5
In difficult times – Habakkuk 3:17–18
After victories – Exodus 15:1–2
Always and in everything – Ephesians 5:20

*Ways to Show Thanksgiving*

- Through prayer and praise
-Singing and worship (Psalm 95:1–2)
- Giving offerings of gratitude (Psalm 116:12–14)
- Living in obedience to God
