The Reflection

In the ancient world, an anchor wasn't just a piece of metal; it was a lifeline. When a ship was caught in a storm near the shore, the anchor prevented it from being smashed against the rocks.

Life often feels like a series of shifting tides—emotions rise and fall, schedules change, and the world feels unpredictable. This scripture reminds us that hope isn't a "wish" or a "maybe." In this context, hope is a spiritual anchor. It doesn't mean the storm stops immediately, but it means you will not be moved while the wind blows.

Today's "Power Word": Selah

Selah is a word frequently found in the Psalms. While its exact musical definition is debated, it is widely understood to mean "to pause and calmly think on that."

How to use it today:

Pause: Before you react to a stressful email or a difficult thought.

Pivot: Shift your focus from the "waves" (the problem) to the "anchor" (your strength and faith).

Proceed: Move forward with the quiet confidence that you are secure.
