Hindrances to Answered Prayers_ Pst Ashiru Aliyu
_ Anytime you genuinely call upon God, he answers you; but there are certain things/attitude that can hinder one from receiving the answers to prayer.
_Most of the time, man is responsible for the hindrances to answered prayer.
_ If you don't understand how to behave in the kingdom, certain blessings will never reach you.
_ Man becomes a threat to Satan the moment he takes a stand with God.
_ Every man has the opportunity to make amends, don't wait until it is too late.
_ *Can answers to prayers be hindered?
1 Peter 3:7
_Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered._
1. When you don't pray according to the principles of prayer, the answers will be hindered John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
- You pray to the father only
- You pray in the name of Jesus_Every effort not done in Christ will not yield any result
- You pray according to His Word John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
2. Doubt is another hindrance to answered prayer Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Doubt causes men to take steps they are not supposed to take
_ Don't let the devil use your needs to trap you_ Anything you reject God for, time will come you will lose it.
3. Offence/unforgiveness Matthew 6:14-15 [14]For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: [15]But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Forgiving a person is not all about who the person is but who we are in Christ_ You can't have unforgiveness and genuinely pray Matthew 5:23-24 [23]Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; [24]Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
4. Bad Motive James 4:1-3 [1]From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? [2]Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. [3]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
