TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 3:1-8
TOPIC: A TIME FOR EVERYTHING
In today's text, one of the most popularly cited portions of the entire Bible, we are told there is a time for everything. God, who exists outside of time, recognizes the importance of properly managing time.
The whole idea of African Time, which is derogatory in its original sense, has not only been excused, but accepted. You hear people planning events saying, "Starting time is 10am but you can come by 11am because of African Time." What an insult!
Those coming to the event, having known that there is always a period for African Time, plan to come late! Time regulates how the world functions. Opportunities are usually time -bound.
Consequently, it is not right to function outside the frame of time. Some church services are held where people are told that closing time is as the Spirit leads!
This is a great misrepresentation of God, who is organized and orderly. You only need to read the creation account to understand this God created everything according to His timing sequence.
The old witch in your village may not be responsible for your misfortune. Do not waste time calling Holy Ghost fire on your enemies. You may be your own enemy!
QUESTION:
How do you apportion your time?
PRAYER:
Dear God, help me to be more intentional about my use of time, in Jesus name. Amen.
