Under the slogan: “Following the Path of the People of Divine Overflow and Spiritual Excellence,” and the theme: “Scholars Are Bridges Between Nations and a Shared Destiny,” the Administration of the Grand Mosque of Algeria is organizing an honorary ceremony in recognition of Algeria’s guest, Mawlana Sheikh Muhammad al-Mahi Ibrahim Niass, the General Caliph of the Tijani Fayda in Senegal and President of the African Islamic Union, during his current spiritual and scholarly visit to Algeria.
This tribute comes within the context of celebrating the spiritual and historical ties that connect Algeria to its African depth, as well as acknowledging the important role played by the Tijaniyya order in strengthening bridges of scholarly and cultural communication among the peoples of the African continent throughout the centuries.
The choice of the title “Scholars Are Bridges Between Nations and a Shared Destiny” also reflects the civilizational role carried by scholars and spiritual authorities in promoting peace, coexistence, and mutual understanding among peoples, especially amid the intellectual and humanitarian transformations witnessed by the contemporary world.
