"DAILY IN HIS PRESENCE"
DATE: WEDNESDAY 21ST JULY, 2021
TOPIC: GOD CANNOT BE MOCKED
TEXT: GALATIANS 6:6-10
GOLDEN VERSE: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. A man reaps what he sows” Gal. 6:7
It is possible to deceive oneself and others who are watching, but it is impossible to deceive God.
The dictionary meaning of mocking is ‘turning your nose at’ or ‘to sneer at’ or ‘to laugh at’; but actually, it is more.
The reference from Galatians6:7 about mocking God refers to ‘thinking to yourself that judgement would not happen’ or that God will ignore your actions without giving it a due return. It also means to disrespect, dishonour, or ignore God.
It is easy for us as believers to point the finger at people who are unbelievers as those who mock God.
But the most subtle mockery of God, and the most dangerous, comes from those of us sitting in church.
We are guilty of mockery when we behave with an outward show of spirituality or godliness without an inward engagement or change of heart.
The fact of life is that it is impossible to plant maize and harvest yam.
If, for example, you mistreat your children or wife, making a deliberate decision not to meet their needs even when you have, is to say you see yourself as a god and there would be no consequences for that action.
Actually, there would be consequences, even if it doesn’t occur quickly, yet, it will come.
There are repercussions for ignoring God’s directives and wilfully choosing sin.
When the scripture says flee fornication or adultery, but your boyfriend/girlfriend decides that the only way for you to show your love is by going contrary to God’s directives.
When you choose to comply with them, you mock God; just wait for the repercussions because it will surely come someday.
The reasons why you have homes that don’t last as they should is because of faulty foundations and what has been sown.
You cannot sow without reaping; be careful what you sow!
Prayer: Daily I as I live, Oh Lord, please help me sow the right kind of seed in Jesus Christ Name.
SHALOM.
