"Now, another man that I read is Oswald J. Smith. Some of you have read Oswald J. Smith before. One of his books that I know you will not forget is The Passion for Souls. And then there is that book he wrote on quiet time—I just forgot the title now—it was one of his best books.
Whenever I read any of Oswald J. Smith's books, it makes me restless. I read one of his books and I found myself just trekking everywhere, looking for a soul to win for Christ. Because the man said, 'You are a wicked man if you see a soul going to hell and you don't talk to him. What are you even greeting him about?' Ah! So, I was eager until I caught his book—the biography of his life, Fire in His Bones. Then I also knew that this was a man who could not just sit down. He started a work in the center of Toronto; they call it The Peoples Church, and it was moving everywhere because there was fire.
No matter the gift you have, your gift will feel like lead when there is no fire. Fire is what drives your gift to become useful to people. You may have good language, but no fire. A good message, but no fire. No fire! That's why what you have just settles inside your stomach like lead, and you are just becoming heavy. Some of you are very heavy down here—very heavy. What you need is fire.
I want you to pray, because where we have reached now cannot accommodate fireless people.
