COCIN WEEK 2026

JUST COME!

17/04/2026

FRIDAY 17TH APRIL, 2026.

SUB-THEME: THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

TOPIC: GIVES US CONFIDENCE.

TEXT: HEBREWS 4:14-16.

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us live our lives consistent with our confession of faith. Heb 3:1 Heb 6:20 Heb 8:1 Heb 9:11

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. Instead, we have one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet he never sinned. Isa 53:9 2Co 5:21 Phi 2:7 Heb 2:18 1Pe 2:22 1Jn 3:5 [Phi 2:8] [Heb 2:17]

16 So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Rom 3:25

TOPIC: GIVES US CONFIDENCE.

MESSAGE:
Confidence is a feeling of certainty, firm trust, and belief. Today's text encourages believers to have confidence in the supremacy of Jesus Christ as the high priest. Jesus was tempted in every way while in this life, yet he remained sinless. Having accomplished his mission as the Son of God and ascended into heaven, he now has divine authority and eternal priesthood. He has the ability to understand our struggles, empathise with our weaknesses, and intercede with us. In face of challenges, temptations, insecurity, and persecution, believers are to confidently approach His throne of grace to receive help. Do not give up even at your lowest level of spiritual standing; call upon Jesus.

REFLECTION:
Jesus understands your struggles.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help me to overcome my struggles. Amen.

MONDAY 13TH APRIL, 2026.

SUB-THEME: THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

TOPIC: BRINGS REDEMPTION.

TEXT: GALATIANS 3:10-14.

10. For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
11. Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
12. The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”
13. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”
14. He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

TOPIC: BRINGS REDEMPTION.

MESSAGE:
To redeem is to liberate by payment of a ransom. Today's text contrasts the curse of the law with the blessing of faith in Christ. Relying on the law, which is based on performance, brings a curse because no one can perfectly obey it (Deut. 27:26). In contrast, justification comes through faith, as seen in the life of Abraham. Christ has redeemed believers from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for and bearing their punishment. Through his sacrificial death, the blessing promised to Abraham comes to the Gentiles so that all may receive the promised Spirit through faith. Therefore, Christ's redemptive work is sufficient in securing your righteousness before God.
Have you been redeemed?
If not, invite Jesus into your life today and begin to live worthy of your new identity.

REFLECTION:
Jesus alone redeems.

PRAYER:
Thank you, Jesus, for paying the price for my redemption. Amen.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: COLOSSIANS 2:15.

SUB-THEME: THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-7.

3. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4. who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
5. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
6. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.
7. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

TOPIC: GUARANTEES COMFORT.

MESSAGE:
The Christian race is full of trials, persecutions, and sufferings because of Christ. Today's text stresses God's role in comforting believers on all their afflictions. Just as believers share in Christ's suffering, they also share his abundant comfort. Indeed, God understands and knows our present situations. His comfort not only relieves the believers but equips them so that they can also extend that same comfort to others. Affliction and painful experiences deepen reliance on God while comfort empowers believers to support one another, especially the weak, the broken-hearted, the bereaved, and the victims of crises. It is not a must to speak when you visit a bereaved family. However, allow the Spirit of God to give you words of consolation.

REFLECTION:
He is the Great Comfort.

PRAYER:
Lord, equip me to be a source of comfort to others. Amen.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: COLOSSIANS 2:15.

TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN: 2 KINGS 17-19.

10/04/2026

FRIDAY 10TH APRIL, 2026.

SUB-THEME: THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

TOPIC: THE CROSS ASSURES VICTORY.

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:54-57.

54. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55. “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
56. The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

TOPIC: THE CROSS ASSURES VICTORY.

MESSAGE:
In today's reading, Paul reiterates that death is the consequences of sin. However, Christ's death and resurrection broke the power of sin and death, fulfilling the law and offering believers freedom and eternal life. This is a gift from God through Christ, the core message of the Gospel, and a source of Christian hope and celebration. Although the believer may die, death and the grave have no power over him. Since death has been swallowed up in victory, a child of God should not fear but prepare for it. You must live in the victory Jesus won for you on the Cross. Life challenges are inevitable, but victory is sure!

REFLECTION:
We are victors!

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank you for the victory you won on the Cross for me. Amen.

TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN: 2 KINGS 9-12.

THURSDAY, 9TH APRIL, 2026.

SUB-THEME: THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

TOPIC: THE CROSS WROUGHT RECONCILIATION.

TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-19.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and—look!—all things have become new! Isa 43:18 Rev 21:5 [Gal 5:6] [Eph 2:10] [Heb 3:4]

18 All of this comes from God, who has reconciled us to himself through the Messiah and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, Col 1:20 1Jn 2:2 1Jn 4:10 [2Co 3:6]

19 for through the Messiah, God was reconciling the world to himself by not counting their sins against them. He has committed his message of reconciliation to us. Rom 3:24-25 Col 1:20 [Rom 3:25] [1Jn 4:10]

TOPIC: THE CROSS WROUGHT RECONCILIATION.

MESSAGE:
Reconciliation is a divine act of grace that restores our broken relationship with God. Our text describes the transformative power of union with Christ. The believer in Christ becomes a new creation -a radical inner renewal where the old life of sin and separation from God is gone, replaced by a new identity rooted in Christ (see John 1:12-13). This transformation ís God's work, reconciling humanity to himself through Christ. Since you have been reconciled with God, you must also reconcile with others.
Ďo you still keep malice and grudges and find it difficult to forgive and reconcile with your fellows?
God forgives you and entrusts you with the ministrỷ of reconciliation! You are obliged to share the message of grace, reconciling others with God and men.

REFLECTION:
Be a reconciler.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to be an agent of reconciliation. Amen.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: COLOSSIANS 2:15.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

TODAY'S BIBLE READING: 2 KINGS 4-8.

08/04/2026

WEDNESDAY 8TH APRIL, 2026.

SUB-THEME: THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.

TOPIC: GRACE TO ALL PEOPLE

TEXT: TITUS 2:11-14.

11. For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
12. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
13. while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
14. who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

TOPIC: GRACE TO ALL PEOPLE.

MESSAGE:
This passage highlights the transformative power of God's grace. Salvation is available to all through God's grace. It is universal and does not discriminate. This grace saves and teaches believers to reject ungodliness and worldly passions, leading lives marked by self-control, righteousness, and devotion. For Christ gave himself to free us for sin and purify us to live holy. It also gives the believers great hope - to live in anticipation of Christ's glorious return. God's grace is not a license to sin (Rom. 6:1-2).
Are you experiencing moral and spiritual growth?
Are you struggling with particular sin and thinking there is no way out?
The grace of God can help you overcome it. You must discipline yourself to live above reproach.

REFLECTION:
Do not abuse the grace of God._'

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to appropriate your grace. Amen.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: COLOSSIANS 2:15.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
