ESTABLISHED THROUGH FELLOWSHIP
Reflections
Text: Hebrews 10:24–25
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
God never designed the Christian life to be lived alone. We are established—made firm, strong, and fruitful—through fellowship. Just like bricks need cement to hold, believers need each other to stay rooted in faith.
God created us for a relationship with Himself and one another. One cannot walk alone to be fruitful and established in the faith as a child of God. God didn't create anyone for isolation or solitary living.
Fellowship is not a casual coincidence but a deliberate gathering of God's people. Fellowship cannot be reduced to attendance because proximity without relationship is nothing. Fellowship is for a purpose: to provoke love and good works; we must come together to correct and rebuke one another in love (Proverbs 27:17). Fellowship is established through faithful assembly. Fellowship is urgent because the Day of the Lord is approaching (v. 25). The darker the day, the more we need each other because Christianity is not about surviving alone but growing together.
From our text, we can see that the writer of Hebrews was writing to believers who were tired, persecuted, and tempted to quit, as in Christendom today. Fellowship begins with intentionality in “considering” (paying attention to) other people who are struggling (with one thing or the other) and who need prayer. We need to learn and benefit from each other. We are responsible for each other.
In conclusion, we are not to give up meeting together as the body of Christ (v. 25) because isolation weakens us. The enemy loves a lone sheep, but when we gather—in church, in small groups, in homes, etc.—we gain strength and are better equipped to face the enemy.
“Encouraging one another” is the glue that keeps us from drifting, “all the more as you see the Day approaching” (v. 25). Remain in fellowship if you desire growth and strength in difficult times, but above all, remain in Christ, who is the Head of the Church, for the body is useless without the head.

REFLECTIONS(Last Week Sermon)
ESTABLISHED AGAINST ERROR
TEXT: Colossians 2:8, Matthew 24:24
Believers cannot live in ignorance of the proliferation of error: false prophets enforcing falsehood and vain, empty, deceitful philosophies to the enticement of many. Many errors sound good but totally lack biblical backing and truth.
The Scripture says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God”, not those who are led by their hearts, social media trends, or worldly philosophies. Romans 8:14
These philosophies, principles, and lifestyles are easy to start but difficult to stop. While some provide momentary “feel-good vibes,” they ultimately lead to destruction; things like fornication, drug and substance abuse, indecent dressing and body exposure, vain pursuits, and worldly lifestyles, casual relationship without biblical boundaries and godly values, etc.
Other empty, vain philosophies without biblical backing that believers must beware of include: “Heaven helps those who help themselves,” “Do whatever makes you happy,” “Follow your heart,” and rebellion wrapped in spiritual deceit set against God's order (like Miriam and Aaron in Numbers 12), etc. All these errors, believers must guard against because they do not conform to the Kingdom of God. They have been whitewashed by false prophets to deceive believers.
TO IDENTIFY AND OVERCOME ERROR, BELIEVERS MUST:
Invest in spiritual things: study materials, retreats, trainings, and seek God's leading in prayer, etc.
Be rooted in the principles, dictates, and philosophies of the Word of God.
Exercise firmness in righteousness, not wickedness; insist on doing the right thing.
Use discernment to retrace the errors we practice.
Know that the only way to avoid errors is to be established in the truth of the faith.
The question each believer must continue to ask and ponder is: “how rooted am I in the Word?” As believers we ought to live by the Beatitudes i.e. attitudes of the Kingdom of God. Only a believer who is firmly rooted in the Word of God can stand established against unbiblical errors.
