*_DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST_*
*THURSDAY 24TH JULY, 2025*
*TEXT: LUKE 19:1-10*
1. _Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through._
2. _A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy._
3. _He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd._
4. _So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way._
5. _When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today."_
6. _So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly._
7. _All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a sinner."_
8. _But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."_
9. _Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham._
10. _For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."_
*TOPIC: ZACCHAEUS*
Our text introduces us to Zacchaeus, a chief text collector who was rich. He desired to see Jesus but his height was a hindrance, so he found a way out. Zacchaeus responded to Jesus' invitation and received him joyfully. Being a tax collector and termed a "sinner", he got converted when he encountered Christ. He gave substantially to the poor and restored fourfold to all he might have swindled (cf. 2 Sam. 12:6). Zacchaeus found hope in Jesus, something more than gold and silver. What are you guilty of? Do not allow it to hinder you from responding to Jesus' call. Make it a day of repentance and make restitution where necessary.
*REFLECTION:* _Jesus is more precious than riches._
*PRAYER:* _Father, help me to scale all obstacles in my life to behold Jesus. Amen._
