TUESDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER
TEXT: ZECHARIAH 5:1-4
TOPIC: CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE FOR GOD'S GLORY

The Lord expressed His displeasure towards the different attitudes portrayed by the people of Judah through the different visions He showed the prophet.

This section deals with the sins of stealing and swearing falsely. These and many other sins characterize the lives of people today, especially those who are called by the name of the Lord.

People steal at every given opportunity in markets, offices and even in the church and continue to tell lies and swear to show that they are honest in the things they are doing.

The God that hated those sins is the same God that we are serving today. Therefore, we must know that because He never changes, He still hates these sins.

Let's ask Him to change our attitudes and make us people who will stop stealing and start telling the truth.

QUESTION:
How do you feel when you discover that someone has stolen your belongings or sworn falsely?

PRAYERS:
God, please purge us of all the habits that defile us. Make us people that will represent You in this world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

SATURDAY, 13 SEPTEMBER
TEXT: ZECHARIAH 2:1-13
TOPIC: GOD WILL SURELY RESCUE YOU

God's love will manifest in the midst of the challenges that His people are exposed to.

Prophet Habakkuk spoke of the Babylonian captivity and how the Lord chose them to discipline Judah. But when the time would have been fulfilled, God would restore His people and punish Babylon.

Zechariah gives this message of hope and assurance about how God would restore His people because they are the apple of His eye.

We must know that the problems we are facing have an expiry date because God will rescue us from the work of the wicked and grant us the needed peace, victory and all that we need to live for His glory.

QUESTION:
How do you feel when it appears that God has given you up to unbelievers?

PRAYER:
Grant me the ability to persevere amid the challenges that I am passing through so that my faith will stand on the last day, in Jesus' name. Amen.

FRIDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER
TEXT: ZECHARIAH 1:7-20
TOPIC: GOD WILL RESTORE THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN DESTROYED

God is in the business of correcting the wrongs in the lives of those who return to Him.

The people of Judah were in captivity in Babylon for 70 years and when the time for restoration came, God brought them back.

Prophet Zechariah spoke of the vision he saw of the man amongst the myrtle trees as well as the four horns and four craftsmen.

God explained how He would restore mercy to Jerusalem by taking away the peace from the other nations that had punished His people and restore sanity to Jerusalem.

We need to know that God never forgets His people, no matter the calamity they suffer. Hold unto Him and He will show you mercy.

QUESTION:
What do you want God to restore in your life?

PRAYERS:
Please Lord, I ask that You restore the fortunes that were destroyed as a result of my sins and reconnect me to the source of mercy, in Jesus' name. Amen.

THURSDAY, 11 SEPTEMBER, 2025.
TEXT: ZECHARIAH 1:1-6
TOPIC: REPENT AND ENJOY THE BLESSINGS OF GOD.

The evil desires of man always lead him into doing things that will attract the anger and punishment of the Lord. We live in days where everyone does what they think is right. The God we serve is holy and wants His children to obey His words and punished those who live in disobedience.

Prophet Zechariah was called and commissioned to warn the people of Judah to desist from their rebellious ways so that they would not receive the same punishment as their parents. So, they repented and changed their ways. We must, therefore, understand that the God we serve wants to bless us but sin is always standing as a barrier. Therefore, we must purge ourselves of any sin so as to enjoy His blessings.

QUESTION: What are you doing that make God angry with you?

PRAYER: Help me, dear Lord, to repent of all my sins so as to enjoy the blessings You have in store for me, in Jesus' name. Amen!

THURSDAY, 3 OCTOBER
TEXT: MARK 9:1-13
TOPIC: THE TRANSFIGURATION

Jesus had just spoken about the task before whoever desires to be His disciple in the previous passage.

Shortly thereafter, He states that some of His disciples will taste the power of His kingdom before translating to the other side of eternity.

Barely six days thereafter, Peter, James and John were chosen to be with Him on the mountain. They had a taste of the kingdom with the appearance of Elijah and Moses. These people did not just appear on the mountain but were seen dialoguing with Jesus.

Peter thought about a human way of providing comfort for the 'guests' but a cloud was provided to shelter them.

The voice reminded the disciples about God's messianic designation at the baptism in Matthew 3:17 and Mark 1:11.

Their experience on the mount was strictly for their own consumption and not to be disclosed to anyone until victory over death was attained.

This passage helps us know that we are heading somewhere that is better than where we are if we choose to nurture our souls spiritually.

QUESTION:
If Elijah and Moses were seen talking with Jesus, what do you think of the hereafter?

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help me to deny self today in anticipation of the greater glory ahead, in Jesus name. Amen.

WEDNESDAY, 18 SEPTEMBER
TEXT: I CHRONICLES 10:1-14
TOPIC: SAUL'S UNFAITHFULNESS

Unfaithfulness unto God is a very grievous sin as it can lead to death and destruction.

Saul, his three sons and some men of Israel lost their lives in the battle with the Philistines due to his unfaithfulness to God as a leader.

Saul possessed all the physical qualities required of a leader but lacked the character that would have made him an exemplary king.

He was handsome but his sin of unfaithfulness made him weak and ugly. He was rich but he was spiritually bankrupt. Saul looked good on the outside, but as rotten inside.

Faithfulness to God and a strong character are much more valuable than an attractive exterior.

QUESTION:
In what way have you been unfaithful to God?

PRAYER:
O God, I repent of every act of unfaithfulness to You today, cleans and make me whole so that I can enjoy a good relationship with You, in Jesus name. Amen.

SUNDAY, 15 SEPTEMBER
TEXT: ACTS 21:37-22:5
TOPIC: WHEN YOU ARE WRONGLY ACCUSED

In the course of our relationship with people, we may be wrongly accused by people who know nothing about the issues involved. So, Paul was wrongly accused based on lies.

But no matter the accusations levelled against you, God will always intervene strongly and make a way for you to clear the air.

God will grant you the opportunity to speak out in a language that people will clearly understand.

However, this can only be achieved through total submission to God and utmost humility which will silence your accusers.

QUESTION:
Have you been wrongly accused and depend on God in humility for your vindication?

PRAYER:
O Lord, I know that my accusers are set to discredit Your work in my life. Help me as I plead my case in humility and silence the voice of the accusers, in Jesus name. Amen.
