I intended to release a Rap engima about Nigeria but it wasn't possible, as I looked at the lyrics on a piece of paper I kept reminiscing about what i read, heard and see as a Nigerian, I am puzzled by which direction we are going as a nation.
Nigeria is a country that has all the resources (but human and natural resources) but I see her as the chicken the slept on a heap of grain hungry(i.e. ignorance). If indeed we are asleep has the morning not come?
I see a country that is divided by a thin line of Haves and the have not, where an average Nigeria thinks The rich and powerful are corrupt, but as soon as that same Nigerian cross to the other side of the line He now sees Nigerians as lazy and foolish.
my question is that, has riches not taught people to share and lack taught people to Value?
If we share and value each other don't you think we will go a step further?
The pillar of the nation should be our religions leaders, but I see big worship centers with multi-million Dollar properties, and with leaders not talking and praying about the nations headache, messages are just "ME CENTERED" God also loves us as a nation and when you don't cry to him as a nation He won't answer us.
sometimes I become astonished buy how secondary school girls kidnapped, and we slept on our beds, this kind of scenario requires a nation to stand still until a solution is found and our teenage girls never even spend a night in terror, I now see how the nations is showing symptoms of decay from kidnappings, to people committing su***de, and to women abused and r***d. this is very possible because the nation has expressed nonchalance to protect its girl child.
How about me and you that still work the street, experience hardship and pain is there anything we can do? the answer of course is yes, we sometimes are motivated by hashtags and we wear "great people great nation" wrist band, but motivation is just a spark we need to keep burning with the right mindset as youths with purpose, I once attended an independence program and the speaker said you can make Nigeria better by not throwing waste on the street, from that day till today i put them in my pocket pending on when i find a waste bin.
I would have love to eulogies this great nation with flattery words but who are we deceiving ourselves or the rest of the world?
Finally I am grateful to be a Nigerian and despite the blurry picture of the future I see, I believe that God has a better Idea for this great nation.
