24/05/26 — Children’s Day Service
Topic: The Holy Spirit Equips Christians for Lifestyle and Service
Text: Acts 1:8
Message by: Praise Ademola

As believers, our lives should reflect the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in all we do. In our daily activities and conduct, we are called to allow Christ in us to shine forth through our words, actions, and lifestyle.
We were reminded to examine ourselves:
• Do we truly have the Holy Spirit in us?
• Are we living in accordance with God’s will?

We are admonished to continually yield to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to dwell richly within us, guiding us for both service and godly living.

CED Emphasis Sunday
Theme: Causes of Domestic Violence
Text: James 4:1–4
Ministers: Dns. Temitope Olawoyin | Cns. Remi Okanlawon

The message highlighted that domestic violence does not happen without underlying causes. Many unhealthy attitudes and actions within the home can gradually destroy peace, unity, and love in the family setting.
Some of the major causes discussed include:
* Evil Desires - desires that are contrary to God’s will and lead to mistreatment.
* Jealousy — lack of contentment between spouses, creating tension and conflict.
* Uncontrollable Anger — inability to manage emotions during difficult situations.
* Poor Communication and Disclosure Issues
* Unforgiveness
* Quest for Power and Control
* Preferential Treatment Among Children
* Mental Health Challenges
* Early Marriage
* Unemployment and Poverty
The teaching also emphasized the damaging effects of domestic violence on victims, including:
Low self-esteem
Physical injuries
Depression
Emotional and health challenges
As believers, we are called to love one another just as Christ loves us. We must not allow hatred, bitterness, or uncontrolled emotions destroy the peace of our homes.
The church was encouraged to embrace patience, understanding, self-control, forgiveness, and godly love, because where these virtues exist, violence cannot thrive.
A call to build homes filled with peace, compassion, and Christ-like character. 📸

Mother’s Day Service
Texts: 1 Samuel 25:18–31; Proverbs 31:27
Minister: Pst. P. O. Akanji

The message celebrated mothers as models of godly living, women who are prayerful, disciplined, humble, and deeply rooted in the fear of God. A virtuous mother trains her children in the way of the Lord and reflects honesty, wisdom, and love in every aspect of life.
Words alone cannot fully describe the value of mothers; their sacrifices, care, understanding, and guidance within the home and beyond. They serve as teachers, nurturers, counselors, and pillars of strength to their families.
Mothers were challenged to reflect on the attitudes and examples they display within their homes: What visible actions are we showing our children?
How loving and supportive are we towards our husbands and family?
The message also reminded mothers to uphold the dignity of their homes, avoiding gossip and every action that could weaken family unity.
A call for every mother to continue building godly homes through love, wisdom, prayer, and righteous character.

Part of the first examples for living that we get as we begin life are our mothers.

They train us and teach us how to behave, live life and draw close to God.

This Sunday, we celebrate our models, our Mothers.

New Beginning Service
Theme: The Wind and Sea Obeyed Jesus
Text: Mark 4:35–41
Ministers: Pst. P. O. Akanji | Dn. Lade Micheal

The message reminded us of God’s supreme power over all things. Just as Jesus rebuked the wind and calmed the storm, He has authority over every situation we face in life.
No storm, whether challenges, trials, or uncertainties is beyond His control. The same power that brought peace to the sea is available to bring calm into our lives today.
We are therefore called to invite Jesus into our lives as the Author and Finisher of our faith, the solid foundation who sustains and protects us through every storm.

In moments of trouble, we must ask ourselves:
Who do we call upon? Where do we turn?
Our response should always be faith in Christ. When our trust is firmly rooted in Him, we find strength, peace, and direction even in the midst of life’s storms.
A call to stand firm, trust deeply, and depend fully on Christ the only One who speaks peace into every storm.

Sunday Service
Theme: The End Time
Texts: 2 Timothy 3:1–5; 4:1–7
Dn K Oyelami/ Dn. A.A. Iyanda

The message was a sober reminder that the end time is drawing near. Life on earth is limited, and everything we experience; trials, tribulations, and seasons; has an appointed time.
We are challenged to reflect deeply:
How prepared are we for our eternal home?
The return of Christ is certain, though the exact day and hour remain unknown. This calls for a life of readiness, standing firm, watchful, and faithful at all times.
We are also reminded that the enemy seeks to distract and devour, using sin to create separation between man and God. Therefore, we must remain vigilant and aligned with God’s will.
The time of harvest is coming, a separation of the wheat from the chaff. This is a call to intentional living, steadfast faith, and active commitment to the Gospel.
The question remains for us all:
Are we truly prepared?

Sunbeam Week
Text: Hebrews 12:1–3
Theme: The Faith of Our Fathers: Our Heritage and Hope
Minister: Pst. P. O. Akanji

The message drew our attention to the powerful illustration of faith in Hebrews, reminding us of the legacy passed down by our forefathers. This faith, handed over through generations and nurtured by our parents, remains our heritage and living hope today.
As believers, we are admonished to hold firmly to this faith, preserving it and intentionally passing it on to the next generation. The responsibility does not end with receiving it continues through propagation.
Our attitude and character reflect how truly we live out and share this faith. The question remains: How committed and sacrificial are we in spreading the gospel, just as those before us did?
We have the privilege and responsibility to teach, live, and model this faith, ensuring that the generations to come inherit not just words, but a living example of Christ.

Text: Hebrews 13:1 (cf. Amos 3:3)
Theme: Unity
Minister: Pst. P. O. Akanji

Unity can be described as oneness, a state of agreement and togetherness. As the saying goes, “United we stand, divided we fall.” This truth is further emphasized in Amos 3:3, that no two can walk together unless they are in agreement.
We are challenged to examine ourselves:
Is there unity within us, in the church, in our homes, and in our workplaces?
True unity cannot exist without love for one another. Love is the foundation and binding force that holds believers together in harmony. As brethren in Christ, we are called to uphold and preserve this bond of unity, not to be agents of division within the body of Christ.
The charge is clear: let us walk in love, live in agreement, and consciously build unity wherever we find ourselves.
