HUSBAND, LOVE YOUR WIFE
*EPHESIANS 5:25-29*
25. _Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her_
26. _to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,_
27. _and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless._
28. _In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself._
29. _After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church.
Once a man is married, he becomes a husband. He is required to love his wife. In today's passage, Paul urges the husband to love his wife. There are different ways of showing love. One of them is willingness to sacrifice to give all to her to make her happy and comfortable. He should be ready at all times to bear inconveniences for the sake of his wife. He should direct his emotional and physical attachment to her. Do you stand aloof when members of your family castigate, maltreat and assault your wife? Love demands that you defend her. It is true that some wives misuse the love of their husbands to misbehave. Nevertheless, husband love your wife. Remember, God is a witness between you and your wife (Malachi 2:14).

WIFE SUMMIT TO YOUR HUSBAND
EPHESIANS 5:22-24*
22. _Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord._
23. _For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior._
24. _Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything._
Massage;
Paul, in today's text, urges wives to submit to their husbands. This is because the husband is the head of his family, and his wife should acknowledge his headship. God created man to lead the home, make godly decision and look after the wife as Christ does the Church. This preserves order and harmony in the family. It is unfortunate that some husbands claim unlimited authority; even so, wives are counseled to submit. As a wife, she is to submit to her husband in everything.
Her hope is to be in God, and if she has an unbelieving husband, her godly and respectful conduct will win him (1 Peter 3:1-2, 5). My sister, how is your submission to your husband? Even if he takes it for granted, keep submitting because it is unto the Lord.

*REFLECTION:* _Submission strengthens unity in the home._

SUBMIT ONE TO ANOTHER
EPHESIANS 5:21; GALATIANS 5:13*

21. _Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ._

13. _You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love._Submission does not mean becoming a doormat for others to match on but subordinating ones' rights to others. In marriage relationship, both husband and wife are called upon to submit to one another. For the wife, this implies obedience, giving in to and allowing herself to be led. It means giving up her will or desire for that of her husband and accepting his authority over her. For the husband, submission means putting aside his personal interests in order to care for his wife. When the two learn to submit, they enjoy unity. Our second text calls on couples to serve one another in love. When love is not the motivating factor in submission, couples rarely see the good in one another but faults. Such attitude breaks unity. How is submission in your home? Examine yourselves.REFLECTION:* _Submission thrives where partners have good relationship with Jesus._
