But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. Matt. 9:12.

Jesus wasn’t speaking literally here; he used the example of a physician and the sick to draw a parallel with sinners needing a Saviour. Jesus didn’t come to save perfect people – perfect people don’t even exist. Jesus came to lift the broken, the fallen, and the cast down, up from their miry pits, and bring them into salvation. That is who we were before we received salvation – we were people who were in desperate need of the Saviour. Let us always be grateful to God for saving our souls.

Dear Father, I know that there will be times in my life where I will make a number of mistakes. There will be times where the decisions I thought were right, will actually be wrong. Father, I ask for help to remain humble so that I can take correction from those around me. May I never give in to pride and think that I know better. I know that such an attitude will only land me in trouble. Lord, make me to be the one who can be instructed and corrected easily, and help me to apply this wisdom in my daily life. May I be the one to act on the correction I receive, so that I can avoid any unnecessary consequences. This I ask and receive with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
