Holy Communion

Holy Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper, is a Christian sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ during the Last Supper with His disciples. It is a special time when believers remember and proclaim the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins.

The bread represents the body of Christ, while the cup represents His blood, shed for the salvation of humanity. Communion also expresses the believer’s fellowship with Christ and with other members of the church.

Before taking Communion, Christians are encouraged to examine themselves, repent of their sins, and approach the table with faith and reverence.

ECWA UNVEILS 2027 THEME: “PRESS ON TOWARDS THE GOAL”

(Philippians 3:14)

JOS, NIGERIA – The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has officially unveiled its 2027 theme, “Press On Towards the Goal,” drawing inspiration from the Apostle Paul’s exhortation in Philippians 3:14. The unveiling was made during the annual Chairman and Secretaries Consultation, held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

The theme was formally presented by the ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Job Bagat, who charged the denomination to adopt the scriptural mandate as the spiritual compass for the upcoming year. The selection of the theme underscores a collective call for resilience, focus, and unwavering dedication to the divine mission entrusted to the Church.

As the denomination prepares for a new cycle of ministry, the 2027 theme is designed to galvanize members, leadership, congregations, and departments across the ECWA fold. It serves as a rallying point for the Church to remain steadfast in faith, surmount challenges, and resolutely pursue the heavenly calling and Kingdom objectives set before it.

The unveiling marks the commencement of strategic preparations for 2027, emphasizing core values of perseverance, spiritual maturity, ecclesial unity, and an aggressive advancement of the Great Commission.
