MINOR SEMINARY JAURO YINU GRADUATES 36 SEMINARIANS
Sacred Heart Minor Seminary Jauro Yinu, Jalingo has graduated a total number of 36 Seminarians this year. The graduation ceremony took place at the school premises on 7/6/2025.
The ceremony started with the celebration of the Holy Mass, which was presided by the Vicar Administration, Very Rev Fr Dr Williams Awoshiri, who was flanked by Rev Frs Abraham Godwin Yahaya and Timothy Donatus Terdzungwe.
In his Homily, the Vicar tasked the graduands to witness to Christ with passion and in truth. He told them not to blend in any way in the activities of the outer world but rather to give light that will illuminate the world and change it for the better.
In his welcome address at the reception, the Vice Rector, Rev Fr Timothy Terdzungwe Donatus asserted that the graduands are formed in faith, knowledge and character, which according to him, is to make them become men of prayer service and compassion.
In her own oration at the occasion, the Commissioner for Education Hon Mrs. Augustina Godwin Yahaya charged the graduands to teach students of other schools that Examination malpractice is a cancer that must be eschewed in all ramifications.
In a similar vein, the Rector Sacred Heart Minor Seminary Jauro Yinu, Very Rev Fr Thaddeus Onyekineso noted that the graduands have undergone a tough but very important part of their life. While wishing them a smooth sail in their lives, he again stressed that they will come across afflictions of every kind, but these challenges, according to him, will make them better persons in life.
Other events that spiced up the graduation ceremony are the cultural dance steps by different dance groups, song presentations, scientific experiments, presentation of certificates to the graduating students, cutting of the graduation cake and drama presentations.
May the Lord who has seen these students through their secondary school, also be with them in furthering their education. Amen.
